We stayed here one night before hiking Mount Kilimanjaro and two nights when we finished the hike. We would definitely recommend at least a two night rest after the hike! We were a bit ill from the hike so it was an excellent place to rest and recover, the staff would check in on how we were and there is a pharmacy a short walk down the lane too (if required). We really liked how it was quiet, set in a garden (monkeys, birds and tortoises are often around to watch) and a little away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Moshi- it was a lovely small lodge great for avoiding large big built up hotels. The pool area was kept really clean and tidy with plenty of loungers for all guests. There were plenty of other seating options around too, including private table and chairs by your room. The beds in the room were super comfortable with mosquito nets and a fan that kept you at a good temperature. It was nice to have the communal areas open air with traditional roofed ‘gazebos’. All of the staff were very welcoming and kind. There was an area you can securely leave your main/large bags if needed and there is a laundry service. The food was tasty, with vegetarian options, we tried to burgers, pizzas and evening meals (this was a small menu that they put on a chalk board for you to choose from in advance). The evening meal food is super tasty! The breakfast was just alright, as it was a buffet-style which isn’t how we would prefer it.

The location was good, the hotel/lodges were clean and tidy, the grounds were colourful, the pool was excellent, rooms were good and with their own cosy outdoor space. Time floated here, just what was needed. Appreciated the stay and would return / recommend.
The music at night time could be quite loud and would go on for too long. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow and arriving at breakfast an hour into the slot, would sometimes be disappointed at what was left to offer.

Fantastic location. The room was very spacious as was the whole area of Honey Badger, the lobby, the pool, the restaurant. We had to leave early and left with a nice breakfast bag, great service. We liked it so much that we booked the place for the return drive as well and we had the same experience again.
On the first day there was no water at all in the morning, it was fixed later. For the rest there was nothing that we did not like, except but that was not Honey Badger fault, the view on the Kilimanjaro was missing because of clouds.

I just loved Honey Badger Lodge! It is comfortable, friendly, relaxed and very 'genuine.' I loved watching the monkeys playing in the gardens, listening to the children singing at the school just next door, getting back from a trip and enjoying a cocktail by the bar. Okay, so sometimes the electricity was a bit patchy and the the wifi would drop off for a short while, or the ice machine wasn't working one day, and the kitchen isn't open 24/7 (which is absolutely fair enough in a small lodge with only a handful of guests at any time). But that's Tanzania for you! If you're going to get up-tight about stuff like that, you're probably in the wrong country. Food is good, our room was lovely (and huge!). Staff are all delightful.
Honestly, I wouldn't have changed a thing.

We loved our stay at the Honey Badger Lodge! Super beautiful pool area, restaurant and huts. Our room was very big with a separate shower room and bathroom. The staff were very friendly and I loved my massage. One of the best ones I had in years! The food was all right, nothing amazing but good value for money.
Our room had a lot of cockroaches in the bathrooms, which was very hard to get under control. We complained to the staff and they tried to solve it, but was not so successful. The mosquito net could be bigger so that it fits all sides around the bed to avoid insects inside.

Quiet place set back from the main road Velvet monkeys and turtles on site Clean room and well organised shuttle service We stayed on site but some did excursions to waterfalls and Kilimanjaro in the day
Rooms were not cleaned daily and no kettle facilities in the room, very dim lighting in the room but each room does have a little porch with outside chairs 5% extra charge to pay by card - wasn’t a problem- just nice to know in advance A little eiry if you’re the only guests but soon picked up for our second night there

amazing facilities, with turtles and monkeys that live in the hotel and give it an even more rustic touch
the activities they offer are expensive and not worth what they cost. i did a one day hikking tour on kilimanjaro and the guide arrived drunk, he could barely walk, i was traveling alone so that made me feel unsafe on the mountain, the manager kindly apologized but they didn't nothing about it or discounted the price of the activity, after tremendous scam

(technical) things that are not oke are repaired quickly. My toilet had a small problem and they gave me another (bigger room immediately. There was a small problem with the cold water supply and the next day the water pipes were dug out and the problem was solved. Apart from that , the staff are really nice and attentive.
I was unfortunately (almost ) the only guest.

Perfect place to stay after a trek up kilimanjaro lol amazing pool, clean rooms with hot shower, good WiFi but not in rooms. Delicious food and very friendly and helpful staff. I can't say much about the location as we didn't leave the hotel. We recieved welcome smoothie on arrival and they did laundry too. We needed a massage after the trek so they called someone in to the spa and it was just what we needed. They also do a daily dinner menu with 3 courses it was perfect and breakfast was also good.
No WiFi in rooms

An amazing place to relax after Kili and safari. The guy in charge of the hotel (apologies, didn't get his name) was attentive, polite, and resourceful. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were exceptional.
Unfortunately, the WiFi coverage does not reach the room in the garden far from the lobby/main area. No big deal, though.
