The buffet at Maisha Restaurant there’s space for improvement on quality, selection and style. After I left riu jumbo stayed on another hotel in Zanzibar of same style and price range etc and the buffet was super from the selection, quality and style.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are really spacious, there’s 4 pools to choose from, and the beach is stunning. There was never a shortage of sunbeds and the service from the staff was brilliant. Food was tasty and the snack bar on the beach was great for throughout the day. We arrived before check in at around 11am on the first day and left at 11pm on our last day but were still able to use all the facilities without any issue. Thank you RIU Jambo for a lovely holiday!

There is a new building or resort being built next door so it was noisy at some points but of course this isn’t the fault of the hotel. Although the food was tasty, some of the options did get quite repetitive.

Absolutely everything is great! The best all inclusive hotel with affordable pricing. The staff is super friendly, the ladies at the Bar in the lobby were so nice and taught me and my friend some swahili. the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet is full of options, we got confused seeing so much food and everything tastes amazing. We also tried to Asian restaurant and the Kulinarium the food was divine. Some of the activities offered by the scruba caribe (water sport) are included in your package and those that are not are affordable like snorkeling (you have to do this!!) and Sunset Catamaran. i will definitely come back to this hotel the next time i come to Zanzibar.

No african music being played, so bring your music box/bluetooth speakers along.

My family and I stayed at Riu Jambo for 4 nights and we absolutely loved it. All inclusive literally means "All inclusive" in that there were no hidden costs, food served was really delicious and the availability of snacks and drinks the whole day was a bonus. The hotel has an amazing beach with white sands and azure ocean, it was a really amazing view, especially at sunset! The five pools, kids activities, water gymnastics and other sports activities really added value to our stay.

The only negative I have is that the hotel does not have designated smoking areas, which would have really made it more child friendly.

Fabulous location, stunning beach, beautiful rooms and wonderful food. The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful. Everything here was top notch and exceeded my expectations. I requested body lotion. When I returned to my clean room they had left me 10 small bottles of lotion in a carry bag! All of the facilities were great. The gardens were stunning.

The resort is very well managed and the property is in tip-top shape. The rooms were nice and modern and the staff was friendly and professional. The location on the beach is beautiful.

-Personally, I would have appreciated some non-smoking zones in the bar areas and the pool/beach chair areas. Outside of the main restaurant, it was difficult to escape the second-hand smoke. -The beach lounges were all on top of each other, unlike some of the other resorts that had more personal space for guests. -Also, it would be great to have more sit- down dinner options. -The hawkers on the beach were annoying, but that’s out of the resort’s control—although the resort security guards did a good job of keeping them at bay around the property.

This place is amazing! We ditched the hotel we had booked in Zanzibar as it was awful and decided to check in here instead and the difference between the two was like night and day. The welcome we received from reception was exceptional. Our room was perfect, a good size, pristine with all we needed and a nice balcony. The beach in front of the hotel is a tropical paradise - took my breath away. Each pool was great, there was no end of sunbeds to choose from. The food was fabulous in each of the restaurants we tried and the service everywhere was great. Very friendly and attentive staff, constantly topping up our drinks and smiling. I really didn’t want to leave!

The only small tiny thing I can think of is there was no water in our rooms, only fizzy drinks in the mini bar and we were only able to get glasses of water, not bottles from the bar. It would be better to have water in the room, maybe glass bottles that can be recycled?

Excellent white sand beach, 3 nice pools with warm water, amazing always smiling staff. Food was various and good quality.

On the third day of our stay our room was full of mould all over the walls. The mould was cleaned up after we pointed the problem to the staff. Probably the problem keeps popping up every 6-7 days due to the high humidity. Nothing for guests to worry about but I guess it takes a lot of effort to the staff to clean all the walls of so many rooms.

I should start my review by saying that we booked our stay when there were no reviews here and we didn't know what to expect. Then when the hotel opened and bad reviews started to fly all over the Google reviews & booking, we were a bit scared, not gonna lie. All in all, we decided to keep our reservation (it's worth mentioning that free cancellation was available until 2 days before the arrival, which was great in terms of covid restrictions we were afraid about the most) and arrived at the hotel mid September. Even though we were early in the morning and our room hadn't been ready until 1PM, we were able to use the facilities already. The hotel is very fresh (opened in May or June I believe) so it's clean and modern. We had a lateral see view room and we loved the view, even if you can't see the sunset from there (I recommend beach instead), it's still beautiful. There are a few restaurants and bars, some restaurants require booking upfront - app worked well for us and we managed to book a table without any troubles - I think that new turns for reservations open at midnight, but it's just my guess. Anyway, app is not related to the hotel itself as it's an app which is in use for all hotels in Riu chain. Food was good - I wouldn't say it was the finest food I ever eaten, but the variety was reasonable, and there were modifications in the menu throught our stay so it wouldn't get boring, and changes included special dinners, for example one with local dishes which was very cool. Staff was very friendly and nice, always helpful - I bet for many of them it's their first job in the hotel, but as far as I can say - the service was good and we never experienced anything bad. The beach is very clean and has a bar and a pool, so you can either chill out at the pool or move quickly to the beautiful white sand at the beach. There are snacks served there if you get hungry.

There's not much I would 'criticise' - you can complain about alcoholic drinks not being WOW, but as far as I know, many all inclusive drinks tastes bad, and still here I wouldn't say bad - just mediocre - so if you adjust your expectations, then it's fine. Also, sometimes if you had a luck, you were able to get a fancy drink from some staff members who know a bit more on that matter - so still good. One minor thing is maybe the repetitive music during the evening shows - after a few days you'll learn the whole playlist by heart :D

Jambo! Absolutely loved our stay our Riu Jambo! Me and my husband was so so pleased with the service provided in every aspect. The staff there are beyond friendly and we felt so comfortable staying here. Housekeeper Khadija was the most sweetest individual we came across <3. The food was amazing at Jambo, breakfast was such a huge variety, you could eat something new every day! The dinner service was even more amazing! Hats off to the chefs here because they really are making some quality meals. Note - it is all halal! The speciality restaurants are a bonus; me and my husband enjoyed Kulinarium the most. Tip: try and book these restaurants around 12am because that's when you will see availabilities and also try early morning :) Bongo Flava comes alive at night and the DJs are so fun, we really enjoyed this aspect that Jambo had. They also provide free water sports like paddle boats and kayaking which was such a treat, we didn't want to leave the hotel in the week we were there! Just hoping their service does not come down because this is a place I will definitely visit again when I return to Zanzibar! Asante sana Riu Jambo!
