Review of Chalicha Resort in Chumphon: My wife and I recently stayed at Chalicha Resort in Chumphon for one night as a stopover during our trip. We were pleasantly surprised by the value for money we received during our stay. The cost of bed and breakfast was just over £16, which we found to be quite reasonable. The staff at Chalicha Resort were friendly and accommodating. They greeted us warmly upon arrival and provided us with all the necessary information about the resort and its amenities. We felt welcomed and well taken care of throughout our stay. One highlight of our experience was the restaurant linked to the hotel. The food served there was absolutely delicious, and the portions were quite generous. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were impressed by the quality of the dishes. It was convenient to have such a great dining option right on the premises. The rooms at Chalicha Resort were spacious and well-appointed. We appreciated the size of the rooms, as it provided us with plenty of space to relax and unwind. The air conditioning in the rooms worked well, ensuring a comfortable temperature throughout our stay. However, we did find the beds to be quite hard, which was a minor downside for us. In terms of location, Chalicha Resort was conveniently situated. It was only a 10-minute walk to the main center, which made it easy for us to explore the surrounding area. We appreciated the proximity to local attractions and amenities, as it allowed us to make the most of our time in Chumphon. Overall, our experience at Chalicha Resort was positive. The friendly staff, delicious food at the restaurant, spacious rooms, and convenient location made it a great choice for a stopover. Despite the slightly uncomfortable bed, we felt that we received excellent value for the price we paid. We would consider staying at Chalicha Resort again in the future.

The pool area is ace, there is options to eat at the hotel and really spacious rooms with super cold AC, the cleanest room yet for sure and staff were really friendly.

The location was a bit strange with a lot of stray dogs in the area which are quite territorial and can be a bit scary. There was construction on the road starting from very early on the last two mornings which was a bit of an annoyance. If you’re sensitive to noise I would further recommend asking for a room with a balcony not a ground floor level as the door allowed a lot of noise passage of the many family’s arriving and leaving through out the night who often unpacked their cars right outside our rooms (might be good for reception to speak to guests arriving/ leaving late about keeping the noise down to avoid other guests being inconvenienced)

The location is good. Away from the centre and in an very quiet area. It takes a small boring hike to get there from the trainstation, but i would recommend to take a taxi. (100Thb is the going rate). Its 800m located from a 7/11 mini markt. The 24/7 reception is great with friendly staff. The food in their restaurant is good. Try out their Pad Thai 👍🏻 The room had all what it need. Clean sheets and enough towels. The room was spacious and clean. The airco worked fine. (no, you dont have to put it on 18°c. - That's not the idea).

I have been here 6 years ago and you can slowly notice that the rooms need a small touch up.

Peaceful location on the edge of town, about 1k from the station, walkable but boring walk! Friendly staff, hugest room ever that was comfortable and had kettle and fridge, the restaurant meal we had was excellent. Nice pool very welcome. Chumphon isn't really a tourist town other than a transport hub so it's nice to be somewhere that feels easy. 2 nights was great and recommend for easy stop over. Note for anyone going to the museum - organise your taxi in advance - we managed the walk there in spite of heat with a couple of dim sum stops but walking back was tough with no taxis of any variety!

No safe and like most Thai hotels so far, no drawers for small items of clothing! Maybe it's just me!!?

The Calicha Resort has a reception and a small but pleasant lobby / cafeteria. The staff was very friendly and helpful, always willing to help. The Calicha Resort has cabins and a room building, we stayed in the building, which are the cheapest, and I'll tell you, the building has a small lobby where you take the elevator, all the rooms have a view of the areas greens and pool. Our room was on the second floor, it had a almost wall-to-wall window, through which a lot of light entered, (but if you close the curtains the room is dark) I love that, and with sliding doors to access a large balcony, which had a table and two chairs with a nice view of the pool and the green areas of the resort. The super spacious room, they changed the towels, tidied the room and placed 2 bottles of water every day, although to be honest, the cleanliness of the room could be improved, but only because from the time we arrived until we left, there was a long hair on the floor, which was not ours and was never removed. The bathroom in the room, very tasteful. The hotel has a restaurant service, our rate included the buffet breakfast, OMG, super delicious and generous, between English, American and Asian breakfast, as well as cereals and fruits, amazing, I recommend choosing breakfast included. The hotel pool, very nice, I really liked taking a dip after arriving from the beach. Certainly the Calicha Resort is a nice place to be.

The location of the hotel, if you have a car, is great, but if not, the city center is no more than 2 km, but I did not feel comfortable walking around that area, but a taxi or a tuk tuk, they are not expensive and they solve that problem

very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. Overall a very nice place and great value for money. Restaurant food was good. We liked having access to bikes. Near to our arrival bus stop.

A bit far away from locations such as restaurants, 7-11, laundrette etc. Restaurant menu a little limited and closed at 8.30pm and so eating or drinking after then was difficult. Only 6 beds by the pool. Our bathroom flooded and when cleared left a smell of bad drains for the final 2 days.

the restaurant was good value for the money. the staff were very helpful in terms of arranging our transportation to the islands. the room was large. within walking distance from the train station. the sheets were clean, the bed was hard but comfortable. overall it was great value for what we paid.

cosmetic stuff - it’s tired, the furnishings are a bit beat up, the walls in our room were marked and marred. the tap on the bathroom sink was loose.

Lovely friendly and helpful staff. It's a really nice pool, and the rooms and hotel area were kept spotlessly clean. The onsight resteraunt is really nice aswell.We would stay again.

My only gripe was the internet. It was strong at certain times of the day and very bad in the evening.

Huge rooms, great pool, daily room service, they have an attached restaurant and breakfast if you like, altough we always went for the morning and night market in town. They rent scooters and you will need one if you like to see the beaches, the National Park or even for exploring chumphon itself. They also have free bycycles, but the beaches are some 15 km plus away, so scooter it is...

Nothing, everything as expected.

Property is clean and well maintained. We paid a little more and upgraded the room - will worth doing. Attached restaurant offers a good selection of local dishes at a reasonable price. Pool is small but superb. It's just a shame that the infinity effect is spoilt and the only view is the reception.

Location is poor if you do not arrive by car. Long walk or taxi ride into the town. Staff did organise is an inexpensive shuttle to the station.
