Very attractive location. Beach club and area for hotel use only. Wide choice at breakfast and lunch menu good. Pizza oven a nice feature. Dinner takes place on terraces over the sea. Staff super efficient and pleasant and quickly accommodated our personal idiosyncrasies. Many thanks!

The hot water supply in the room was a little unpredictable especially in the evening......... I guess it's demand on the supply at around the same time every evening when people get ready for the evening. But to be honest it wasn't a big deal.

This was my second visit to Villa Mahal and it did not disappoint. I never go anywhere twice but last year's visit was so amazing that I had to come again. There is absolutely nothing I dont love about Villa Mahal. We had such a relaxing holiday. The grounds are beautiful, well looked after and serene. The breakfast was plentiful with so much choice and always delicious and served with a smile. The location for breakfast is my favourite place in the world.

It was all wonderful.

This is a charming hotel that is nestled on the hillside a little outside of Kalkan. The rooms have spectacular views over the bay and the little beach club gives easy access to the beautifully clear, turquoise sea. There is a good restaurant at the hotel for drinks and light meals during the day and which sets up tables at the water's edge in the evenings for sunset suppers. For those wanting to eat in or visit Kalkan there is a little boat to shuttle you back and forth during the day and it is a five minute taxi back at night. Kalkan is a friendly place with lots of roof top restaurants and bars, boat trips and opportunities for excursions. A lovely holiday.

The hotel is built amongst old olive groves on steep slopes down to the sea. There are stunning views across the bay of Kalkan, looking west - which means beautiful sunsets in the evening. The small number of rooms are dotted around the peaceful grounds, creating a sense of space and tranquility. The infinity pool is extremely attractive and was never crowded and there are many places around the grounds just to sit and read or enjoy the views in peaceful surroundings. The bar / restaurant area again faces west and it is possible to eat the evening meal down at sea level, as the sun goes down. The food is excellent and the staff very friendly, professional and attentive. The steepness of the slopes does mean that there are many steps to negotiate, although that was not a problem for us, and the hotel has a buggy that can drive guests up and down the steepest section.

This spot is magnificent and perched above a beautiful bay in Kalyan . Rooms are a good size and all come with a balcony and a view . Food is delicious and service is good . There is also a free Mahal ferry to take you to and from the port . Yes there are 181 steps but you can call their golf cart for lifts if you are too tired . There is no beach but loungers on the cliff side hovering over the sea . You also experience a quiet nights rest as you are not in town. Delicious lunches and homemade lemonade .

I still prefer their original breakfast which was buffet style at the top of the resort but having said that their breakfast was good . Our room smelt damp but think it might have been closed up for a while .

The location is stunning, the staff are professional and friendly and the facilities are very good. Swimming in crystal clear water and taking dinner overlooking the lights of Kalkan is memorable. Perfect for a quiet, relaxing holiday for couples young and old.

There are 181 steps to negotiate daily….or take a buggy ride if you’re feeling lazy!

The property and overall layout out was absolutely exquisite. I have never been anywhere like it or anywhere near as beautiful.

The only part about Villa Mahal what wasn’t up to the standard as everything else was the Evening meal. We only ate there on the first night out of ease but it wasn’t half as good as the lunch or breakfast.

Extensive grounds with accommodation dotted around within hillside olive groves. Wonderful location with terrific views across the bay. Boat shuttle into town was excellent but stopped at 6pm. However, taxi fare from town to hotel was inexpensive. Great breakfasts. We were in the Pool Room which was very private and had the largest private infinity pool I’ve seen. The delightful owner, Ms Ipek, was around at breakfast most mornings to keep an eye on things and to check guests were enjoying their stay.

We were there at the end of the season and that was evident as there were a few small signs that some maintenance was overdue after what was, obviously, a busy season. Cocktails disappointing for a hotel of this standard and food good but relatively expensive which meant we tended to have drinks and eat in town.

Lovely small boutique hotel. Very quiet and plenty of space to relax and get into the sea. Hotel restaurant is expensive but really good.

Kalkan is not the nicest Turkish resort. Over run with Brits and the restauarants are expensive and poor value.

The view from our room was spectacular. The hotel offered a complimentary on-demand shuttle (by sea) from the hotel to Kalkan (last shuttle was at 18:30) although it did not run in rough sea conditions. A reasonable menu for lunch and dinner was offered although it did not change from one day to the next throughout our 8-day stay. (Of course one could go to Kalkan which has many restaurants - of varying standards and cruisine. In the evening, one would need a taxi to get back to the hotel - at a princely charge of 50 TRL)

The 100 steps from our room to the swimming and the further 80+steps to the restaurant. Most of these steps were uneven and where there were handrails, some were insecure and wobbly - one falling off. Many of the parasol umbrellas were damaged and all were difficult to raise. Little or no maintenance was evident overnight or indeed in the medium term. Service in the restaurant was chaotic. Orders were delivered incorrectly and often were very long in coming. Even so the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel does offer the hire of its yacht - fine if you want privacy but very very expensive. Alternatively, Kalkan offers "public" day cruises for the twentieth of the price but unsurprisingly they provide no flexibility.
