Colonsay Hotel was gorgeous and the staff were very friendly. We had a wonderful time. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, the common rooms were gorgeous. The food was phenomenal. Breakfast was amazing, incredible oysters at dinner. The island is easy to get around and the hotel is just outside of town but still near the ferry.

Our first room was luscious. The second room had not been remodeled, so it's hard to determine what you will be getting.

Good location just 5 minutes walk up from the harbour, or one minute drive to the parking area. We had a standard bedroom which had a comfortable bed, was nicely furnished, with a good ensuite shower room. The several lounges, sitting areas and bar make the whole place a country house feel and centre of the island community. The restaurant looks out to the bay and serves a wide choice of delicious meals. The staff work very hard to give everyone a great stay.

Nothing.

Everything, the relaxed home-from-home comfort of the hotel, delicious food for breakfast and dinner, staff were all very courteous, friendly and attentive. Quiet, comfortable room, with own private bathroom. Liked the gentle Tony Bennett music one evening in the dining room. Very flexible where ferry cancellations and changes affect bookings. Thank you.

Not sure that the music (in French) in the dining room was to everyone’s taste, though I liked it myself.

Great location and lovely outside spaces and various lounges to use inside. Friendly and efficient staff, especially Ella at breakfast. Food was very good although choice rather limited.

Although the quality of the food was excellent, the choice at dinner was quite limited if staying for several days. Surprisingly there was no local produce on the menu, when local pork, beef and lamb was available. Disappointing that the Colonsay brewery beer was not available either. The use of local produce really needs to be addressed by the management of the hotel.

The hotel is beautifully situated outside the town and near the ferry. Road maps are provided, and the island is easy to get around. The common areas are gorgeous and cozy the restaurant is beautiful and the food was fantastic. Five stars!

Out first room was dreamy, just perfect. The second room had not been remodeled, so you can't predict what you will be getting. It was still very nice.

Excellent location, small, dream-like island hotel with friendly staff and excellent facilities. Food and breakfast were decent, though as you'd expect for a small island, slightly pricey.

We didn't like the generic Ibiza Lounge music in the restaurant, which we felt wasn't a great fit for the fantastic Scottish Highlands views. The beer selection was limited as the island IPA was sold out. But these were very minor details.

Brilliant location and beautifully appointed building. Very comfortable and relaxed.

Staff at times difficult to track down. External signage could be better - like a sign saying “Colonsay Hotel” above the door. Room servicing was erratic. Great to see seafood showcased but the menu needs more variety, no daily specials.

Excellent location a short walk from the ferry terminal. The staff were unfailingly helpful, storing our bags while we waited for the room to be ready, and providing lunch and tea at short notice even though we hadn't booked. Beautiful quiet room and we woke up to cuckoos calling in the morning.

Not cheap but considering the location and level of service good value for money.

Close to the ferry terminal. Lovely hotel and helpful staff Delicious full breakfast and evening meals. Cosy room and well equipped bathroom.

Would have liked a change of towels , didn"t really mind the unmade beds but have got used to that elsewhere and at that price did expect the room to be cleaned each day.

The breakfast was excellent every day, as were the meals we had in the restaurant in the evening. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming. The room was all we needed. What a wonderful place. We hope to come back.
