I have stayed in the hotel several times for work reasons connected to family - the refurbished rooms are lovely, a good size, very comfortable with tweed furnishings and modern, well-designed bathrooms. Initially I was given one of the older rooms but the kind receptionist swopped for one of the newer rooms I had on my last visit - this made a big difference as the view was pleasant and the room light and airy. There is a good choice of cooked breakfast and the staff are pleasant. It is expensive but choice in Stornoway is limited.

The older rooms are a bit tired.

Restaurant really nice design and the food was very good. Very accommodating staff, great location, easy parking, nice atmosphere. Nice shower gel product. Very good housekeeping. Lovely grounds and easy access to walking through the castle grounds.

Tiny things, nothing major at all - a phone in the room would be good and room service would also have been a benefit along with an information booklet about the area etc. Also a small fridge would have been very welcome but I realise this is not an essential for most people.

After booking into a previous guest house which we walked out of we didn’t have much choice with where we could stay. There were only 2 places and we picked your hotel. Good choice 😊

Too hot in the evening. Went down to reception at midnight and asked the night Porter for a fan… there was t one but he kindly showed me how to open the window wider. So thank you to him 😊

Breakfast delicious! Room very comfortable. Staff very, very friendly/helpful. Restaurant staff were lovely - very attentive and friendly.

No water in the room. Far too expensive! £250 is too much. No proper lounge area - had to sit in the foyer after dinner. I would really like to stay here again but certainly not at that price!!!

The hotel was really nice, clean, and the food well priced

There were ongoing refurbishment works, so it was a long way from lift to room for my elderly mother, and the views from the rooms were pretty awful as they were on to storage areas for the works

The position just outside the city center (a few mins’ walk), the cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was delicious and the dinner (at the hotel restaurant) was very good.

In the bathroom, the bath should be renovated, especially for the shower head which is no portable and just comes out of the wall.

able to bring our dog and how very nice staff were setting us up a dinner table in the foyer! although having a pet makes you feel an outcast, the staff did everything they could to make us comfortable.

the room was so very hot. the outlook from our bedroom window was awful overlooking the fans. although the bed was comfortable and very clean the hotel is so outdated and very expensive for what was on offer!

The room was nice , bed was comfortable, plenty of toiletries . The restaurant was nice and bright, the breakfast buffet was good and well presented, the breakfast menu was nice and the cooked food was really tasty and well presented.

Not all the staff appear to be fully trained yet, but all were friendly and helpfull. The uniform , a white t shirt looks awful.

Repetitive dinner menu and the fact that the room was not cleaned every day. We were out of the room from 9am until 4pm with nothing done. Day 1 staff said they were very busy. Day 2 only came and cleaned bathroom at 1545 changed towels. Nothing to bedroom so had to speak to the cleaners. Day 3 no issues. The

Super comfortable bed. Reasonably spacious room. Warm. Right by Lews Castle grounds, which was great for walking the dog. Plenty of parking space at the front and sides of the hotel.

Revolving entrance door was very tricky to negotiate - not much space for both me and dog, and the door itself was heavy to move.
