Hampton Inn Fort Payne

Great location.

Needs more parking. Every room needs better lighting inside the rooms!!! As we get older, we need better overhead lighting! All hotels need improved lighting plans!!! We were not out of the room in the mornings until 10am or so. So housecleaning was not done for our room for those days. We had to request clean towels, etc. and trash bags as well each evening once we returned to hotel in the evening. We would absolutely return to this hotel, with a few minor tweeks!

They found us a room. They had no record of booking.com getting us a room.

Booking.com could have actually made the reservation. Asit was we were lucky they found us a room. The Hotel was very good and clean. They tried everything to search for the room Booking.com had reserved for us but could find nothing even though I had the email with BOOKINGS reservation number as confirmation.

Great breakfast. Good variety of food, also waffle makers! Great selection of tea and coffee. The staff is very polite and friendly, always ready to help you or answer any question you may have.

The breakfast only lasts till 9 AM. Not so friendly to nightowls like me. Also the parking space is somewhat limited, it could be hard to find an empty spot to park in the evening.

It felt clean.

It needed some work. One elevator worked, but it sounded like it could break at any minute. The pool area was warm, but the pool itself was too cold. An electrical plug in our room looked like it caught on fire, and all they did was change the plug and not the cover.

Newer hotel, everything was clean and nice for this level of hotel.

Not many eating option. Hotel is in a very rural area, but no complaints about hotel, except no iron in the room. It does seem a bit pricey for the area.

Clean nice comfortable rooms and beds .. front desk staff very accommodating and nice .. like that there was a covered smoking area outside for myself (not important to non smokers I know).. but it was nice because it was raining ! My sisters and I were exploring the Little River Canyon and Mentone .. at the top of Mentone mountain we ate at Elevation Bistro and it was superb !

Nothing… Ft Payne itself could use more shopping but the hotel was good

Convenient to get to. Good reviews. Beds were comfortable. Good sheets.

No coffee available (yes I read Covid restrictions), except for the nastiest stuff I ever tasted, in the room. I made one cup took a tiny sip and poured it it out 🤮. While I did not expect breakfast, I did think there would be coffee available. I hate having to hunt coffee first thing when I get up. The room was good except for a pair of dirty socks left by previous guest!!

Their breakfast in a bag was a bit better than others we have seen during covid. A few things were off: no plastic cups for a drink of water, lighting in the room was very bright, the facial tissue in the bathroom was awful...but the staff was wonderful, the room was spotless and the bed comfy. I would definitely stay there again.

Lobby bathrooms were locked due to covid. That was weird. I really like when a hotel has lobby coffee all day. The stuff in the rooms is always terrible. And I would have liked dimmer switches on the lamps by the bed.

Breakfast was ok. Would like to have real eggs. Not sure what these were.

Payment confusing. Appeared I was charged $20 for extras, but receipt showed agreed amount.

Clean and comfortable.

Inside pool that was not temperature controlled. Which made pool cold at this time of year.
