The Landing Hotel

Great location within walking distance of town (2.5 miles) or very near the local bus stop. The food was very good in the dining room restaurant.

Some of the electrical outlets did not work in my room, so I had to make adjustments in order to charge my appliances. I also found out, when I got my bill, that the hotel charges an extra $50.00/day for incidentals. I wasn't aware of this when I booked this hotel because it wasn't mentioned anywhere. I was told that this money would be refunded to me after my room & account was checked; this could take up to a week. The refrigerator wasn't stocked, washing machine & dryers are cash only, the restaurants/meals are on your own. What incidentals could possibly be $50.00/day?

The room was big and bed was comfortable. The staff was helpful and courteous. The shuttle was available during daytime hours.

No shuttle was available and we ended up walking at midnight in the rain to the hotel. I called about the shuttle and was told none was available but was later told by receptionist that one was available but the driver didn’t want to go out late. Also the hotel states free breakfast but it is actually a $10 discount coupon. For $10 one could buy tea or coffee and toast. The hotel needs to clarify this on web page.

Loved having the shuttle service available. The $10 breakfast coupon was nice, but was not the FREE breakfast as advertised here. The staff overall were very helpful and pleasant.

This was advertised as having a FREE breakfast. In reality, each guest receives a coupon worth $10 off the total of the breakfast you choose. The coupon basically covers a cinnamon roll and juice. However, the portions are generous and my teen and I shared a breakfast plus an extra English muffin comfortably and the price was covered by our two coupons. It worked out but I was disappointed in the misrepresentation of it being free. We also had an incident where the housekeeping staff left our window open when they cleaned our room and our room was cold when we came back. The heat for the building had apparently also been turned off so our room stayed chilly for a long time.

Good breakfast. Coupon for $10 pp at hotel restaurant. Bill came to $25 for 2 minus the two coupons so we paid $5.00 for full cooked breakfast for two.

Far from downtown but close to airport ferry and Alaska marine highway ferry dock. Bus to Totum Bight stops nearby. They have a shuttle and are helpful in getting you downtown.

Jeremiah's Pub had some of the best food we had while in town. Prices were reasonable. The shuttle service they provide was nice, BUT MAKE SURE TO GET THE DRIVER'S CELL PHONE NUMBER as the front desk will not answer the phone if they are busy (happened to us and we walked 2 miles back to the hotel).

The $10/person voucher towards breakfast didn't cover breakfast but it was close (within $5).

Shuttle availability was awesome to have. They went out of their way picking us up in town, taking us to get our luggage, and to the hotel. When we needed to get to the airport they again went above and beyond to help us, making sure we were able to snag a luggage cart to make the slog across the ferry and into the airport. It would have been nearly impossible without a cart. We tipped them well both occasions. They also let us check in really early, which was an amazing help.

Not walking distance to anything, my fault for not checking. Very industrial kind of area. Was unusually hot weather for beginning of July, no AC which is typical, did have fans for us to use. However our room was right next to dumpsters for hotel, and hotel restaurants. Dumpsters made it very unpleasant to have windows open to keep the room a little cooler.

Breakfast was good ($10 voucher for use at the restaurant). The location is great for someone getting off the Alaska state ferry and going to the airport the next day. Also, it's much quieter than the craziness downtown where all the big cruise ships dock.

The elevator is a little funky!

The location is perfect. Across the street from the ferry dock and on the town bus route. couldn’t ask for a better location.

They have a restaurant in the hotel and they give you vouchers for $10 breakfast, but the vouchers aren’t enough to cover the cost of the breakfast. I’d rather get that money of the price of my room and go grab breakfast from McDonald’s.

Hotel was in a convenient spot. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable.The staff was helpful. The $10 vouchers we received contributed to a great breakfast! Our shuttle bus driver, who took us to a popular diner in the town, was very helpful and kind.

Nothing to complain about

Food at restaurant was very good and convient. Hours were good if you stayed in city all day looking at attractions.

We are from Louisiana. Not use to a hotel with no air conditioning. Ceiling fan or box fan would have been nice to circulate air in room.
