The hotel provided a free ride service to the center of town and other locations which was very helpful in our opinion. Also, the hotel’s location right next door to a reasonably priced grocery store was very convenient. This was our first time in Alaska, and we hope to travel to see other sites in the state in the near future!

Although the hotel isn’t close to the main tourist attractions, which I suppose might be somewhat of a disadvantage, the level of service (especially the complementary shuttle) provided to us was wonderful and greatly appreciated.

Great location within walking distance of town (2.5 miles) or very near the local bus stop. The food was very good in the dining room restaurant.

Some of the electrical outlets did not work in my room, so I had to make adjustments in order to charge my appliances. I also found out, when I got my bill, that the hotel charges an extra $50.00/day for incidentals. I wasn't aware of this when I booked this hotel because it wasn't mentioned anywhere. I was told that this money would be refunded to me after my room & account was checked; this could take up to a week. The refrigerator wasn't stocked, washing machine & dryers are cash only, the restaurants/meals are on your own. What incidentals could possibly be $50.00/day?

The room was big and bed was comfortable. The staff was helpful and courteous. The shuttle was available during daytime hours.

No shuttle was available and we ended up walking at midnight in the rain to the hotel. I called about the shuttle and was told none was available but was later told by receptionist that one was available but the driver didn’t want to go out late. Also the hotel states free breakfast but it is actually a $10 discount coupon. For $10 one could buy tea or coffee and toast. The hotel needs to clarify this on web page.

Great location across the street from the ferry, especially if you're traveling without a vehicle. Very good towels, top-rate soap, excellent shower. Armchair plus desk in room, sitting area in lobby.

Building and room way too warm on not-warm days, even with windows open. Smoking area very close to rooms gets used. Parking was challenging. Carpet could benefit from a deep cleaning.

The manager, David, was a lifesaver!! I was exhausted by the time I got to the hotel. He took care of my bags from the ferry, got me to & inside the hotel quickly & efficiently. Seeing how exhausted I was both physically & mentally, he put me in a room very close to the restaurant, ice machine & front desk. He was a HUGE help.

Lack of handicap amenities instead of steps for rooms on 1st floor.

Good restaurants on site, free shuttle to downtown et al & airport ferry, breakfast coupons, staff are incredibly friendly & helpful, clean rooms, nice area.

Hotels are expensive in the area so, while this & other hotels are more expensive than other states, The Landing was a very good value for the area.

Despite being able to smell cigarette smoke in the first room, the second room and staff made this a very pleasant stay.

At the check in, I was given a room that is right above the staff smoking area and I could smell the smoke as soon as I opened the window. Luckily, there was another person at the reception who quickly changed my room.

Loved having the shuttle service available. The $10 breakfast coupon was nice, but was not the FREE breakfast as advertised here. The staff overall were very helpful and pleasant.

This was advertised as having a FREE breakfast. In reality, each guest receives a coupon worth $10 off the total of the breakfast you choose. The coupon basically covers a cinnamon roll and juice. However, the portions are generous and my teen and I shared a breakfast plus an extra English muffin comfortably and the price was covered by our two coupons. It worked out but I was disappointed in the misrepresentation of it being free. We also had an incident where the housekeeping staff left our window open when they cleaned our room and our room was cold when we came back. The heat for the building had apparently also been turned off so our room stayed chilly for a long time.

Good breakfast. Coupon for $10 pp at hotel restaurant. Bill came to $25 for 2 minus the two coupons so we paid $5.00 for full cooked breakfast for two.

Far from downtown but close to airport ferry and Alaska marine highway ferry dock. Bus to Totum Bight stops nearby. They have a shuttle and are helpful in getting you downtown.

Shuttle service around town was fantastic!

Extended shuttle service when there is a large event in town that often goes beyond regular shuttle hours. (Such as the Regional basketball tournament we were attending.)
