the pictures don’t do this place justice! the property is bigger than expected, so many places to lounge and hide out to relax around the property inside and outside. the restaurant has great food and the bar has amazing cocktails. no need to even have a car if you by train! the downtown area is all walking distance with gift shops and restaurants. the art and decor is so well done throughout. very cozy and comfortable rooms on top of it all. very quiet place to stay.

only downside is there is no mini fridges in the rooms and no pool. hoping those get added in the future!

One of the most magical places anywhere! The entire property is enchanting and the gardens are spectacular. Watching the trains is mesmerizing, and the hotel staff are friendly and helpful.

I was disappointed with the quality of the food and service in the Turquoise Room this time around. The salmon was undercooked, the amount of sauce was paltry, and the vegetables were overcooked. A very expensive, mediocre dinner that had been exceptional on two prior visits. Service was slow and there was little follow-up. Again, very disappointed, especially compared with prior visits (most recently in Feb 2023).

easy to get to. Good location. and beautiful grounds

Woman at front desk was not friendly and rather abrupt. we only had half a roll of toilet paper in the room, and when I asked for another, we had to go to the front desk. They said they didn’t keep extra rolls in the rooms. we were told if we needed assistance in anyway to call the front desk from our cell phone as there are no phones in the room. I called to ask for additional toilet paper, I got voicemail and never got a return call. we would’ve loved to eaten dinner there, but it was very pricey. ample, free parking

The hotel is beautiful. It is almost more of a museum… An art museum with beautiful gardens surrounding it. We loved the old rooms and the signs outside each room denoting which glamorous movie star has stayed in that room. Walking around in the hotel, and looking at all the artwork was a great experience. The La Posada Hotel was even better than we anticipated.

This is just an observation. I had a balcony room. But I would not have been happy if I did not have that balcony. The rooms, because it is an old hotel, are smaller than most modern people are accustomed to. However, my own room was lovely with a balcony, and I was very happy.

1930’s hotel with just so much charm. Everything about the hotel was wonderful. The staff couldn’t be nicer. This hotel is pet friendly but that’s just the start. These people love dogs. I have a Great Dane and they didn’t blink. The staff just loved up on him like he was family. They must have a reputation for loving dogs since there were a lot of dogs staying there. With or without a pet, I would love to stay here again.

Minor thing. The jacuzzi tub was small for a 6 ft man. They are limited to the space they have because it’s a 1930’s hotel so I understand. Just a heads up. Don’t get me wrong, I soaked in it for an hour. I just couldn’t stretch out.

Beautiful hotel, so lovely to see the historical interior with gorgeous furnishings and artwork. The gardens are gorgeous, with plenty of places to sit and relax. The Turquoise Room is a wonderful restaurant fantastic food. The staff were all helpful. It was exciting to see the trains coming through, and easy to imagine the hotel in times gone past.

We would have liked a fridge in the room, otherwise we had no complaints at all. The hotel agreed to freeze our ice packs for our onward journey.

Have stayed here several times and still love it...if I ignore certain things. Amazing restoration of a Colter Harvey House and contribution to historic preservation. Always enjoy the orange crepes and coffee at breakfast. I even enjoy the train sounds.

Dinner here is quite a splurge considering it's Winslow. It was the most I've paid for a glass of beer anywhere in the US. Would have preferred simpler fare without leaving the property. I find the gigantic New Year's Party suicides painting offensive. Instead of "compassion" I see mockery.

Great location. Very unique decor and lots of interesting art throughout the hotel. Supposed to have a great on site restaurant but we tried some of the other places in town. very friendly staff. easy to park and find your way around. Loved the Christmas lights and the overall experience.

Train a little loud at times but overall it added to the experience. they provided ear plugs if you really wanted them but didn’t. Foliage not as pretty as Spring I’m guessing, but they made up for it with all the lights at night.

If you enjoy a vintage (Spanish Revival) hotel that is in excellent repair and decorated with Mexican and Native American crafts, you will love La Posada. Although this is Arizona, where they act as if there is no pandemic, masks are required in indoor public places, except for the dining room. (We had dinner to our room.) Between us, we had four dinners and two desserts, all very good. The flamenco guitarest in a public room just off of the entrance and restaurant played beautifully to a small group of appreciative guests. The gift shop, where guests also check in, has a spectacular inventory of Native American and Mexican crafts (e.g., hand-woven blankets, hand-made pottery, jewelry). The parking is ample and reasonably convenient. The staff is friendly and skilled, and one employee in the gift shop, who seemed to enjoy showing me some pottery, admitted that he loved his job at La Posada. To paraphrase, "Happy staff, happy guests!" Of course, Winslow is just minutes from the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest National Parks, where we spent a really fun day. I really enjoyed this stop in our road trip.

With the pandemic raging, I would have preferred to have an outdoor entrance to our room, but all the units have interior access. In the absence of the pandemic, this would not have been an issue. La Posada was built to accommodate rail road travelers and is right next to a rail yard. Personally, I enjoyed the sounds of the trains chugging into the yard, sometimes ringing their bells. The trains did not wake me up, but if they are going to wake you up (despite the free ear plugs), you should request a room away from the railyard or maybe pick a less charming but quieter hotel.

So beautiful! Architecture, history, art, gardens, libraries, well-curated genuine native items (jewelry, rugs) and other quality products in gift shop and book store. Gourmet food in the dining room.

I only wish one of the shaded patios near the restaurant could be set up with tables so diners could relax with their dogs. I had to either leave my dog in the room (against pet policy) or order takeout and eat it in my room. So wished to enjoy the gourmet food with gourmet service, but ended up eating alone on throwaway takeout containers and plastic utensils. Also the lack of an elevator: I am 70, a widow, and had my dog’s crate in addition to luggage. Difficult to get to my room on the second floor. Seems like an elevator could be added somewhere on an outside wall or at the sacrifice of part of one room or corner somewhere without disturbing the historic building too terribly.
