From the moment I walked into the lobby area, I felt welcomed and at home. I was warmly greeted by Angel at the front desk and was given the "rundown" on events happening over the next few days. I was so happy that my room was ready as I was ready to get settled. I found my room to be cozy, clean and simple chic! My bed was extremely comfortable and the room temperature was easy to adjust as needed. Mama Shelter was recommended to me and I was not at all disappointed. The rooftop bar and restaurant is a favorite place for guests and visitors alike with a fantastic view of all directions. Hello Hollywood sign!!! And the meal options were amazing and portions plentiful!! Major shout outs to Rob, Falcon and Ricky in the restaurant for your friendliness and great service. To Allie and Josh also at the front desk and to Chris with security for your kindness and the conversations we had in the lobby area. Thanks for keeping all of us safe, while you did your essential work with the warmest smile and professional demeanor. I am very grateful to you and feel blessed to have met all of you. I look forward to visiting again. If we're scoring, then it's 10's all the way!!!! This is probably the best overall hotel stay I've ever experienced. I felt the love from Mama indeed!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 All praises. Thank you!

The staff were over the top and excellent. They were very accommodating, and we even had an Amazon delivery getting an item we forgot and they helped to accommodate amd ensure we got it. there were homeless outside in the area, as there are in most of LA, and security staff did excellent at sending them elsewhere and protecting the guest as guests came in and out or waited on Uber/Lyft. It was myself and my 14-year-old son and we felt completely comfortable and safe. One night while we were there we went upstairs to the rooftop restaurant and actually saw Jason Momoa, security and all 😊

We requested a fourth floor room. However, we got a sense for a brain and they were definitely times we could hear the music from the upstairs bar. We were able to Dole it out with the white noise/brown noise on our phones and with the blinds plus the room darkening shade we slept great once asleep.

Great hotel. Very friendly staff, comfortable room (though we would have liked to be able to turn off the LED lights). The rooftop bar/restaurant was fun. Again, the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive.

The location was a bit seedy. Probably a different story if you had a car. Public transport not desirable and the cost of Ubers is definitely something to consider. Also, after 3 weeks in the USA, this was the first hotel that didn't offer toiletries in the bathroom, or even glasses in the room to have a drink of water, let alone tea or coffee.

Location was convenient for my purposes and the air conditioning was strong, which was great during a particularly hot August visit. The room was a good size for one traveler, and despite being right under the bar, it was not excessively loud.

The bathroom was lacking — minimal products came with the place, which seems off for what is marketed as a luxury hotel. Similarly, no room service was available, which was difficult after a long day of work commitments. Also, there were creepy superhero masks used as lampshades near the bed which was not great for me.

amazing location so central to everywhere in LA. easy to get Ubers/ walk to all the attractions in LA. such a fun vibrant place, always seems very busy. they serve free coffee in the mornings.

the rooftop terrace can be quite loud until 2am. we did already know this before booking so I wouldn’t say it was a concern. my only reservation was the astronomical pricing attached to the laundry service. $4 per socks/ pants and $8 for one T-shirt to be washed and dried. I’m not entirely sure if they were washing it in holy water from the Vatican or the third party supplier was just an opportunist but it did leave a sour taste in what was otherwise a pleasant stay. I would highly recommend taking your washing to Abes dry cleaning down the road. they are a fraction of the price and overall lovely people.

Service was excellent. Allie at the front desk was so efficient, nice and you can tell very proud of the property. Check-in and Check out were a breeze. Access to the rooftop bar/restaurant was a plus. Enjoyed drinks and a view of the Hollywood sign. Andre was an excellent waiter. Location great. Easy to get around. We parked our cars ($50) per night and used Uber the rest of the time. Had breakfast at the restaurant and it was very good. Service great. They offer complimentary coffee in the lobby starting at 7:00 which is huge for me ! The price was very good for that area and I would recommend a stay there.

I normally have something to add here but I really liked this place. It was not luxury but it was comfortable and decorated really cute.

Clean spacious rooms and the beds were really very good. The restaurant on the ground floor is nice, good options, all very fresh, good healthy choices.

Later in the day they had this weird thing going on where they had someone basically blocking the access to the elevator to go to your room. I think it's because they try to control the access to the rooftop, but the way they handle it towards guests that stay in the hotel could be more friendly. We had a room on the top floor and there is a lot (!) of noise from the rooftop and it goes on quite late. There does not seem to be any noise canceling insulation in that building. I would stay again, but definitely demand a room away from that rooftop.

A great little funky hotel in downtown LA! The room was clean, comfortable and had fun, quirky touches. Despite booking one of the cheaper 'mountain view' rooms, we found ourselves with glimpses of the Hollywood sign. The bar on the roof was awesome, with fantastic views and great cocktails (and the Boujee fries were delish!). The staff were without fail, friendly, professional and welcoming and the breakfast was one of the best we'd had in our five week stay in the US.

There was a bit of noise from the rooftop bar (we were on the fifth floor, so just underneath) but the bed was so comfy we fell asleep quickly anyway.

I love the decor, the room was clean, the service was fast (I needed a clothing iron and they came in 5 minutes), and clearly the restaurant is popular as I have seen plenty of people each night come in for a meal. if I didn’t have such a busy schedule I would have eaten there. I wanted to try the rooftop, but the rain prevented that. There are also other food options in walking distance.

I wish parking was on site or just across the street instead of around the corner, but the hotel can’t help that. Luckily the walk isn’t far, and I was glad they work with the space available as it was convenient. I think if there was no parking options at all, I wouldn’t have stayed there.

Loved the decor of the entire hotel, so fun and vibrant. The room, although kind of small, had everything we needed and was really cool. The only complaint I think we would have and it's not that big of a deal is the bathroom sink situation. It is long and sticks out and would have been better for the small room to have been horizontal with the wall rather than vertical. But it was fine none the less. Everyone that we came across was so friendly and helpful. We used the valet a lot and they were great too. Wish we could have enjoyed the rooftop patio, we did go look at it in the morning but it wasn't open, would have been a great place for breakfast/brunch because it is really pretty and has great views. Cool touch of adding the Darth Vader masks on the lights for May the 4th. We will stay again, we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just the sink situation and if you would get rid of the amenity fee....not sure what amenities that covers.
