The Place to See and be Seen - the Incredible ‘Sexy Fish Miami’ Asian Restaurant
On This Page:
A truly remarkable dining experience awaits you just minutes south of downtown Miami, across the Miami River in the heart of the Brickell neighborhood, the financial heart of the city. Sexy Fish, a destination in its own right, is the Japanese-inspired restaurant that is a complete experience that extends well beyond the opulent cuisine. For foodies seeking a memorable lunch, brunch (Sunday only), dinner, or late night meal, Sexy Fish ranks right up there with the best that Miami has to offer.
An Intimate Culinary Experience Like No Other
How many times is it permissible to say “wow” during a meal? The sky’s the limit at Sexy Fish. From its dazzling décor to the unmatched and efficient service, this amazing venue will knock your socks off. The creative upscale food menu and outstanding beverage menu will no-doubt “wow” you and is assured to leave a lasting impression.
The Sexy Lunch
If you prefer not to spend in triple digits for each person in your party, partaking of the Sexy Lunch may be exactly right for you. Served from noon to 4 p.m. on weekdays, consider the two-course set menu for $28 per person that includes a detox shot.
Starters include your choice of yellowtail sashimi with Mandarin ponzu, chicken yakitori, a crispy duck & watermelon salad, burrata with kimchi & prawn crackers, a maki selection, or a salmon, prawn or gyoza dish. Following this is the main course with seven delectable choices ranging from steamed seabass and Kagoshima sirloin to chicken katsu sando, or perhaps a crispy tofu & avocado salad with a maple lime dressing will be more to your liking.
The “Treats of the Sea” menu option for just two dollars more offers a special selection of 12 ocean delicacies, served with miso soup. Additionally, lunch can be ordered a la carte from a wide array of snacks, gyoza, seafood, vegetables, meats, sashimi, maki, and nigiri to tempt your palate.
A small but varied dessert selection and specially chosen wines recommended by the Head Sommelier are also available.

Omakase Dinner and Late Night Meals
Translated from Japanese to English as “I’ll leave it up to you”, is just what the Omakase menu at Sexy Fish is all about. The chef is in charge, so all each table needs to do is choose from the Sekushi Midori vegetarian menu, with fabulous seasonal Sekushi offerings, or the Premium option, which understandably is also the most expensive as duck, caramelized black cod, lamb, and the crème de la crème chocolate meltdown dessert chocoholics are raving about. Full-table participation in an Omakase meal is required.
If you prefer to order non-Omakase style, a la carte items included grilled lobster, oysters, caviar, Kagoshima Wagyu sirloin, enormous prawns, grilled scallops, and a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and maki.
The late-night dining menu kicks in at 10:30 p.m. and is available until midnight on weekdays, and into the wee hours on the weekend. An extensive selection of popular favorites is offered during these hours, so coming hungry even at a late hour is recommended.
No matter what you decide, your palate will thank you. The general consensus is to go for the sushi, but to each his/her own.
Dive into the Sexy Sunday Brunch
Enjoy two hours of limitless food stations for $68 per person (as of 1/1/2025). Start off with Japanese bread service, followed by all you care to eat from the Sushi & Raw Bar Station offering premium seafood, tartare, maki, sashimi and nigiri, and the Konro Japanese Grill Station with a wonderful selection of meats, veggies, skewers and gyoza.
Each diner also chooses one main entrée which is served at your table. Among the choices are a chicken, steak, salmon or full salad, or for a substantial upgrade, lobster, cod, and wagyu beef are available.
A delectable array of sweet choices will be found at the Dessert Station, including Japanese-style treats. There are also Champagne Packages offered for discerning bubbly aficionados.

Sexy Fish’s Incomparable Wine & Champagne List
So, you think that you’ve perused wine lists that are nothing short of another “wow”? Prepare yourself for a reading and tasting experience that surpasses any others that we have encountered. The 36-page list includes a full-page for Dom Perignon champagne that tops out at $25,000 for the 2006 “Methuselah”. And no, that is not a typo. There are indeed three zeros after the 25.
There are sections of the list dedicated to the Sommelier Selections, and an extensive and nicely varied list of beverages by the glass, starting as low as $14, but quickly increasing in cost to $475 for the French Domaine de la Romanee-Conti Burgundy. Thankfully, most 5-ounce pours are priced with only two numbers.
If you know your wines you will surely become fully engrossed in this over the top wine menu, which is well beyond description like everything else at Sexy Fish. Champagne is represented with five pages to peruse, French whites encompass three pages with the reds equally represented. Prefer Italian, Spanish, U.S., South American, or strictly organic wines? No problem. It won’t be easy to make a single choice, but you will undoubtedly find what you are seeking in this incomparable list.
Of course, if you want to sample several wines, Sexy Fish offers several horizontal and vertical flights with 3-ounce sample pours. But make sure that you raise your credit limit for tonight’s extravaganza before leaving home.
Beyond the champagnes and wines, Sexy Fish offers up a stunning tequila list, as well as a myriad of specialty concoctions developed in-house by the exceptionally talented mixologists.

Know the ‘House Rules’ at Sexy Fish
If you still aren’t sure that Sexy Fish is a unique dining foray like you have never untaken before, here are the expectations of their patrons:
Reservations are not required, however, you will want one to be assured of getting a table. If you need to cancel, you must do so more than 24 hours prior to your planned reservation time. If you cancel within 24 hours, there will be a $40 per person charge to your credit card. A credit card is required to make a reservation.
Yes, there is a dress code at Sexy Fish, and it is enforced according to the management’s discretion. After 3:30 p.m. “you may not wear shorts, casual slides, flip flops, beach shoes, crocs, or any plastic or foam shoes.” NEVER PERMITTED is “visibly revealing clothing and beachwear, sportswear including athletic sneakers, footwear that made of rubber silicon, flip flops/thong sandals, sliders, hats or caps, hoodies, tank tops, sleeveless shirts and party accessories”, specified as veils, crowns, sashes, and other.
So, don’t insist that you didn’t know. Dress appropriately, and if you must cancel, do so well in advance to avoid a hefty bill that did not include a meal.
Be aware of the age restrictions at Sexy Fish. Dinner reservations that include minor children are only permitted from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. All diners must be over the age of 21 after 7:00 p.m.

Reviews
There are hundreds of Sexy Fish reviews online at websites including Yelp, Reddit, and TripAdvisor, and not surprisingly the ratings and comments are quite similar on all of the sites. Without exception past guests rave about the energy, the incredible people-watching scene (cleavage abounds in the evening), and stunning atmosphere, but it’s clear that the vibe is rated higher than the food itself. Nearly every review says that the elegance of Sexy Fish easily earns five stars, with some adding a +++ afterwards.
However, the food is rated at a disappointing 3.5 stars, with many past guests dissatisfied with the smallish portions, high prices, and inconsistent quality from dish to dish. The sushi reviews are superb, though, so if you are unsure of what to order, this may be the best menu item to decide upon. But do be aware that there are a large number of comments that the “experience” and “aesthetic” appear to be more important to the restaurant’s management than the food itself.
Still, Sexy Fish is recommended as a restaurant you just have to see to believe, and that if you know in advance that this isn’t going to be an inexpensive experience (one reviewer noted that two drinks and valet parking with a tip cost them over $100), you will thoroughly enjoy the decadence that is over the top in so many ways.
The detail and designing expertise that has gone into making Sexy Fish a destination unto itself shine through from start to finish. There is a waterfall at the heart of the serving bar that will take your breath away, and the impressive art displayed throughout is clearly one of a kind.
The restrooms, yes, the restrooms are worth a visit even if you don’t have a need to use the facilities. The women’s restroom’s “wow” factor is certainly elevated, with mosaic tiles that glitter in pink, silver, and gold. Equally stunning is the men’s restroom that, get this, features a huge octopus sculpture at the entry. The mosaic tiles here are turquoise, silver, blue, and gold.

The Wrap-up
Sexy Fish promises and Sexy Fish delivers a high-end energy that is difficult to find elsewhere. Superlatives include the extravagant décor from the lighting to fish-themed art, outstanding people watching, and so many spots to stop and take yet another photo for your Instagram feed. The rich and famous are here in abundance, making this well worth at the very least, checking out.
Reservations, especially for weekend evenings and holidays are hard to come by, so if Sexy Fish is on your radar during your Miami visit, book well in advance and be prepared to wait a bit regardless. Just stopping by on a whim may not get you past the sidewalk if your timing is wrong.
If you like to experience the local scene while vacationing, Sexy Fish should be on your short list of spots to consider. But also review your personal budget, and if superb food (think Joe’s Stone Crab on Miami Beach), is more important than being overwhelmed by the “wow factor”, you may want to consider other options.
