This hotel is a real gem. We have been traveling cross country and have had to stay in boring, nondescript hotels all along the way - except for Hotel Grinnell! The staff was friendly and helpful, and the whole facility was so charming and clever in its decor. The town of Grinnell is cute and lively. There is a beautiful big park across the street from the hotel and they had a free concert playing that we listened to while eating dinner outside at the hotel restaurant. We were just so surprised to find such a great town and hotel.

Hotel Grinnell provides a creative and comfortable atmosphere with facilities that meet all of a guest's needs and beyond. This was only our second stay with the property, but we had looked forward to our return and were again very pleased. The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is fresh and covers all the bases, and the property could not be in a better location.

We really don't have any complaints. The only thing would be that we again did not make use of the work out facilities or the fantastic bikes that the Hotel provides...hopefully next time!

The hotel is extremely clean, comfortable and in a great location. It provides a cool, relaxed atmosphere with options for food and fun space for meeting with friends or other guests. We really enjoy the breakfast as it covers everything, and love visiting with the friendly staff. Always look forward to our stays!

Great location, clean and beautifully decorated in a quirky style. Nice gym. Good food. Extremely helpful staff.

Bar closed at 10pm on weekdays. it would have been nice to be able to get a drink after that. Breakfast was a bit shambolic, they were more than happy to refill the food and coffee but we had to ask.

An excellent visionary transformation from a secondary school building to a single hotel. The educational topic remained like a foundation throughout. The ballroom, an original well-kept basketball court is perfect for this purpose. The periodic table comes alive in the restaurant as well as in the entire hotel. Congratulations.

Side comments and perhaps an indirect result of the pandemic, a fine layer of dust covered part of the black furniture. The east-facing room may have enhanced the visual impact. What surprised me was to find an empty body wash dispenser, though there were three different conditioner containers in the shower cubicle. Attention to detail was missing

Love to see old buildings repurposed and given new life in a central location. Thoughtful touches and good service. Just what Grinnell needs in town for college families visiting.

There wasn’t always someone at check in, I had to call a phone number on the check in desk (at 3:00) and wait Seemed short staffed for this reason

The room was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The property is an old school and the owners did a great job of converting it to a hotel while managing keep the charm. Every staff member was friendly and helpful. The Periodic Table, the restaurant on site, was a nice place to have some drinks and a light meal. Although it was too cold to enjoy, the patio outside looked lovely.

The building was so well thought out as an old school turned hotel. Rooms were comfortable, shower/bathrooms were beautifully done. Definitely a great experience! Don’t forget to snoop around to check out what exists beyond your room!

Very cool renovated old school. New and very clean, but with a lot of character. We liked the bar with the patio outside, the free breakfast, free bikes, complementary coffee and tea, walking distance to town and college.
