On a cross country trip, took an unusual route recommended by google maps. It took me through Mason City and I’m glad it did! A really nice small city in the middle of the corn fields with a lot of interesting history and several Frank Lloyd Wright buildings! This was a very nice little hotel and I would be happy to stay again. The rooms were clean and comfy. Staff was friendly and very accommodating for my service dog. WiFi was the fastest of any hotel I’ve stayed in this trip.
Only two complaints. The desk didn’t have enough outlets. It looks like it may have had an outlet attachment but it wasn’t there, just two screws poking up. The AC was a bit musty smelling and could have used a cleaning.

Loved the price and friendly staff!
It was being renovated, so that's good for future travelers. Way off of I-35 (15 min.) which was fine, but good to know! Anyway, the entrance to get in to the hotel from the main road is all but non-existent, and no signs to tell you how to get to the front.

The staff were kind and wonderful to deal with both at check-in and out. You can tell a lot about management by the kindness of staff.
The area is pretty run down. I wasn't comfortable leaving my car in the lot too far from the main entrance. The building is in the middle of construction

Description included City View, but room 216 views the alley, with a dumpster and a wood pallet. Rather deceiving considering other rooms didn’t include that in every description. From the front of the building, not much city view either.

My credit card appears to have been charged twice even though we were only there one night. The front desk staff told me it would correct itself. If he’s correct and it corrects itself - then I’d highly recommend this place.

room was very nice too expensive but nice. Lady who checked us in was awesome. Overall stay would have to be the best out of all the places i have stayed at in mason city except it shld be a little cheaper
