Days Inn by Wyndham Alpena

This is a great hotel for the middle-class traveler, rooms always available on short notice, free breakfast with decent coffee. We always stay here when visiting family in Alpena. It has large, safe surrounding property to exercise dogs that also provides privacy. Located in shopping center with Home Depot, Walmart, McDonald s, Harbor Freight, Gas Station and more. It is not located on water, but about 1/4 mile from trail around nature preserve. The rooms are quiet.

This is not a luxury hotel with crystal chandeliers, ball room and tuxedos. This is a place frequented by cost conscious families, retirees, construction workers and truckers. It does not have on-site restaurant or bar, but that is my preference for safety, quiet, and privacy. There are near by restaurants and bars (walking distance).

Easy to get in and out of property.

Housekeeping was hit and miss. One day they would fix the bed but leave the trash. The next day they would take the trash but leave the beds unmade. While checking out there was a sign stating “If you stay two nights or more, they would only change the towels and pick up trash. Not making beds and not cleaning the room is nonsense. If you’re not going to provide standard services, then lower your prices to reflect that.

The breakfast was what I would have expected for breakfast’s that are available now days. The person that was filling things was a little grumpy.

The pool could have been a little warmer, the hot tub was very sudsy, pretty gross. So many bees as soon as you walked out the door. Had young children that I was worried that they would get stung.

Our stay was fine. The room was clean and quiet. The bed was a bit soft for me but my wife liked it. Breakfast was typical of hotels in this category. Staff was pleasant.

While it was similar to other hotels in this category we’ve stayed at, it was pricier. We didn’t find there was value add by the additional cost.

I was very surprised. I had stay here 3 years ago and it was clean but a old Days Inn.. Furniture was old, faucet leaked and pillows were flat but i have stayed it worst. This stayed was soooo different. The place was totally new. Hallways and ceiling painted. New carpet in hallways and the room was completely new. From bathroom to furniture to even the bedding! What a Great surprise! Thanks so much for a great stay and yes, i will be back again!

Very clean and nice staff. Light breakfast as advertised was very nice and better than expected! Price was much better than local Holiday Inn Express by $70 a night and well worth the price. I travel a lot and I am a Hilton Diamond member and was pleasantly surprised by this Days Inn.

The beds are ok as far as comfort, but good enough for our quick stop through.

Room was very clean and neat when we arrived with a hand-written note for us. Very nice touch! We let the room cleaners and they were very pleasant and kind.

Breakfast needed more healthy options. Recommend fruits.

The Jacuzzi room was great. The Jacuzzi comfortably fits two people. Towels are laid next to it for you, so you don't have to prepare to get in. Everything was nice and clean for us when we got there. The room is right next to the pool.

The pool had too much chlorine, less than one hour in the pool/hot tub caused me and my girlfriend irritation on our faces. I wonder who maintains it and why they used so much.

The price was good for a clean comfortable room. The location was great for our visit to Alpena.

The only thing that I would have liked to have been different would be to have a bigger television. I'm getting up in age and my eyes are not as good as they once were. A bigger tv would have been a nice addition.

The price was a little steep and didn't like that when I called to set up the stay there was a third party that answered the phone.
