The Nomad Motel

They did a wonderful job of remodeling and repurposing a classic old 40s or 50s motel. The owners have put this great old building back into use for many years. Fun place to stay and the room was very clean. A very nice alternative to the chain motels. I was there for several nights and enjoyed my stay. I would definitely stay there again.

The room could use a padded chair or two to use when watching the TV or working on your laptop.

Cozy room, good internet, comfortable bed. I was working nights and housekeeping respected the do not disturb sign and let me sleep. Big plus on that! Grocery store across the street, restaurants nearby as well.

I really have no complaints. It was a nice place to stay and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Everything! This older motel is completely redone on the inside! It was like staying in a brand new house! Even the coffee maker was a new Kurig. Glass glasses and coffee cups were also provided. Very nice restaurant across the road with great food! Great place for 2 tired motorcycle riders to kick back and relax.

we would have preferred ground floor as we have a lot of gear to haul up the stairs. No reason for us not to return if we find ourselves in the area again!

clean and quiet comfy beds loved the shower

We did think we would get fresh towels each day especially since I rented two rooms for two nights. Not the fault of motel but we were without electricity for much to long. Nasty lightening storm. the phone line should say to book your stay on your site. the phone numbers kept you going in circles. Glad I had a friend that knew someone that worked there and she got contacted to help me out.

I liked the convenience of where the property was located. I experienced my first contactless check in/check out which was a cool and convenient experience. Overall our stay was good.

The squishy beds and pillows were too soft to my liking. You’d roll into the middle of the bed. The pillows were so soft and flat and my neck can’t handle such a soft pillow to sleep on. There was hair on the bathroom floor from previous people that stayed and it wasn’t obviously cleaned. There was also food in the fridge that seemed to be left from previous people as well.

This place is really a find. We are paying a reasonable price, after paying some outrageous prices for hotel rooms on the Michigan Upper Peninsula during Labor Day weekend, for rooms that weren't anywhere near as nice. This hotel has been renovated in the last two years, and they put in nice fittings like good bathroom fittings and window shades, and the room is attractively painted and the furniture is fine, and everything works. The location is good, also. The contactless checkin worked fine also. We have met the housekeeper, and she was very pleasant and helpful. We decided to stay another night.

The bathroom door in our room doesn't close properly. Strangely, this has been the case in our last three hotels. The doors need to be planed to better fit in their frames.

Great location, very clean and comfortable. Excellent value. Will return again. The Library across the street was also a treat.

Check-in was a bit confusing and we did not received digital access codes. No personnel onsite but toll-free number was answered quickly and we got access in a short time frame.

A lovely, remodeled hotel. It was super convenient for crossing the border and very expertly run… We were well provided for.

I would have been glad for a lock on the inside of the bedroom door. That would have felt more secure since I don’t know all the hotel staff that may have a room key.

The hotel had contactless check-in. The room was very clean and quiet. The towels and linens were soft and the bed was firm but comfortable. It was less than 20 minutes from Voyageurs N.P.

The room could use a few more furnishings as it was sparsely furnished ie. maybe a desk or the like since there's very little shelf or counter space.

It was very clean with nice updates. Roomy, appreciate having a fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. Loved having the chair out front to read my book and have a glass of wine to unwind before bed.

The shower faucet and handle were loose. Came right out of the wall when turning on and off. Otherwise, everything was very new and clean. Never saw the staff though, contactless check in and out which I get with the whole COVID thing, but it would have been nice to see a person around just to know someone was there.
