This was a surprise oasis near Great Basin National Park. We wanted to see the park and did not want to stay far away. We were ready for it to be a dump. But we had a newly remodeled room that was great. It's done in modern mountain and it's exceptional. A well-organized and efficient, super-clean room. And when we stepped out our door at night and looked up at the sky, we got an incredible show. So many planets and stars were clearly visible with just our eyes. It was amazing. Constellations were clearly visible. Pure magic. It's all about the location. This was a wonderful place to stay and the staff was very friendly.

There was no breakfast. Further, there were only 3 places to eat, and breakfast was not on the menu. We knew this before coming and brought our own breakfast which was ate in the room. There was a fridge and a small microwave that were quite sufficient for our needs. The motel portion of the facility was good. It is newer than the RV Park, but well done and very clean. We were impressed with how well they cleaned the room. Food service is almost non existent in the town, having only 1 restaurant which was pricey, (but was not open on Wednesdays or Thursdays which is when we were there), 1 taco truck, and one "grill trailer" which served mostly burgers. So plan on bringing your food if you don't want a burger, tacos, or risk the 1 restaurant being open.

good basic accommodation. A hot shower and a comfortable bed. Baker is in the middle of nowhere with little other accommodations or services. The Whishpering Elms were like the Ritz! An Oasis in the desert. And a great burger place at the entrance.

the WiFi was a bit slow but good enough. I had to download movies to watch them. Was able to stream one show on paramount plus, but not much else.

Ideal location directly across from the entrance to Great Basin National Park. It was great to have dinner and drinks on property after a day of hiking. Burgers were delicious. Hosts were friendly and informative. We stayed in a newly remodeled room- cute & functional.

The A/C unit worked well but it couldn’t quite compete with 95 degree weather. Linens were worn.

Great location, right outside Great Basin National Park and walking distance to 'everything' in Baker. The room was dated with worn furnishings but clean and well equipped with a coffee make, frig, microwave and good wifi. Whoever checked us in (the owner?) was one of the nicest we had our whole trip. The rate was reasonable, considering the location.

Wasn’t expecting much given the isolated location, but wanted to be close to Great Basin National Park. Very pleasantly surprised by a very clean and comfortable room. Check in was contactless, and very easy. Coffee service in the room was a nice bonus and given the very cold temperatures, an extra space heater was provided. Immaculate bathroom!

Information provided about wifi was not correct. I used my iPhone hotspot, which wasn’t ideal, but adequate for what I needed to do. I wish there would have been some access to snacks, drinks, etc. but I understand we were off season.

It was conveniently close to the park and had a quaint little bar within walking distance from our room. The bar staff was friendly and professional. Accommodations were clean and well supplied.

When I phoned to make the reservation, I accidentally called at 8 AM local time, forgetting the time difference where I lived. A gravel voiced manager type answered the phone, informed me that they didn’t take reservations until 9 AM and hung up on me. I reserved online anyway after some internal debate, and was glad I made that decision. The rest of the staff was cool, just not that guy.

The location is amazing. It's right in front of Great Basin. The owners are nice and helpful. Everything in the room works and the room was spacious.

Everything was fine, what you see is what you get. The only thing what would be nice are like more outside places to watch the stars or eat but that's basically it.

There are remodeling and doing a wonderful job, we stayed in a newly remodeled room, very beautiful and the location is perfect for the Great Basin National Park and Lehmans Cave.

Our friends didn’t get a remodeled room, not enough finished yet, but they are working on them. Also, no options for food, but microwave and fridge.

The location was perfect for the reason we were in Baker. We were there to visit The Great Basin National Park. It was a very quiet location. They are in the process of upgrading their motel rooms.

Not many choices of where to get food in the area, although they did have their own food truck with burgers.
