Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Tucumcari

Breakfast had a lot of good options. We felt safe in this hotel location. The pet areas are easily accessible. The beds and linens were clean and very comfortable. The cleanliness of this hotel from the hallways, to the rooms and into the lobby and food area all highly exceeded my expectations. I don't know if that is bc this is a newer hotel, but I hope that my future visits to other Fairfield Inn & Suites locations are all as positive and excellent as our stay was in Tucumcari.

I am very picky and critical of where I stay overnight and I have nothing negative to comment on our experience.

We ordered our breakfast the night before and then picked it up in the breakfast area the next morning. It was very tasty and still hot! We also love the walk-in shower here! Large, good water flow, and very clean.

The location of this hotel is right off I-40 and next to two large truck stops. We stayed here in February 2020 and now again in March 2021, and there was construction on the access road both times so it's not easy to access the property, especially during heavy truck traffic.

The room was really nice and comfortable. The bathroom was like a spa.....loved it! We were really impressed!

What we didn't like were the pointed questions when checking in about "Why are you here?" It wasn't a casual question, but one of the list of things we HAD to answer??? I started to be rude and tell her that it was none of her business. That's how blunt it came across to us. We even talked about it after checking out and decided that maybe she was new and just wasn't comfortable talking to guests yet.

everything except that booking.com over charged me. I reserved a suite and got a king room. I paid $185 and change for a room I could have booked the same day for ~$165. doubt I’ll ever use. Booking.com again. wrong room, higher price than walking off the street and booking direct with the property

Room wasn't ready upon arrival, but was quickly resolved.

Wish the web site would have included a way for me to indicate that i was an AARP member. Since we had been on the road for 10 hours, my mind set at the time prohibited me from inquiring about a discount at check-in. When I inquired the next morning, I was told the billing was completed upon our arrival and it was not possible to re-do. She mentioned that this matter should have been brought up at check-in.

The breakfast was a bit lacking. Coffee was good but scrambled eggs were sad. Very crumbly. Turkey sausage was cold. Oatmeal was ok.

Very clean, efficient, practical

It was a way out of the main strip and positioned in between an RV park and a truckers’ car park - but that didn’t impact the hotel at all. Breakfast was ok: but these aren’t really complaints - Fairfield Inns are a good, cheap and quality option for an overnight stay and the staff are great, the room is clean and that’s what was wanted!

Our room faced the truck stop so we could hear truck engines all night long. There was also an odd smell that I was sure was cigarette smoke. I told the front desk but not sure if they followed up. It may have been the smell of the diesel engines from the trucks, but it sure smelled like cigarette smoke.

I thought the hotel was very clean. The bedding was comfortable and the rooms were nicely decorated. It’s the first hotel I’ve ever stayed at that you get a full size bar of soap. The view of the mountain outside our window was a beautiful addition to our stay. As a note to the picture I posted. We couldn’t hear any noise from the truck stop in front of the hotel.
