This is a place we would have liked to stay longer. For a motel room it was incredibly spacious and comfortable, even with a reclining chair. Bathroom was clean, beds were excellent, and we had direct door-access from the parked car to the motel door, which made unloading/loading less stressful. Location was good, bars and restaurants in John Day easily reachable by foot.

Everybody here was nice friendly polite the lady at night was friendly courteous and a great person had great conversation. The motel is close to all the best food in John Day, we parked our car here and easily strolled through downtown.

Nothing fancy but everything you need while traveling through town on a road trip. They even provided us motorcyclists rags to clean our bikes. Right across the parking lot from "The Outpost" pizza, pub and grill. Great breakfasts and amazing pizza.
The Directv package was very bad, almost half of the channels were shopping channels.

It had a bed, TV, shower, towels, rags, refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. It had everything we needed but the WIFI was spotty.
The internet would not work from to time but we had a wifi hotspot so we managed.

I liked the proprietor, who was very forthcoming and real. We had a nice conversation. He’s trying to have a decent place to stay in a remote town. He’s succeeding.

Cool retro style motel in the middle of town but off the main highway. Nice comfy recliners in the room.
Toilet was way short. Only 2 pillows. Poor wifi strength. Cable tv didn't work in the rain. Half the restaurants in town were closed.

Though it's two stories, it reminds one of the older Motor Court Motels. The rooms are large and comfortable. The WiFi is fast and works well. Modern room amenities also include a four-cup coffeemaker, Micro-fridge, and microwave oven. For a tourist destination city , the room price was reasonable. (All hotel/motels are booked out for this week and I imagine, for the balance of the summer)

Basic lodging that is clean and well cared for. Nothing fancy but the right place to be in John Day when passing through. Absolutely no need to spend more on any other place. Easy walk to a number of eateries. One block off the main drag so no road noise at all. Met all expectations for an overnight stay with a good sleep on a comfortable bed.

The staff was exceptionally aware of our needs. They replaced coffee and towels every day, even though we did not ask. We were on motorcycles, and they provided parking blocks for our convenience, again without asking. They routed us to the best local restaurants.
