Loved our stay at the Colter Lodge - we weren't sure what to expect, but it was very much Wyoming, wild Wild West, looked authentic, authentic lobby, bar, restaurant - our room for four people actually slept 6, so very comfortable. Great large king beds, very high quality linens and towels, very clean and updated yet maintained the authentic rather historical look of the hotel. Center of town, lots of places to eat within walking distance - had breakfast at the lobby restaurant every morning and it was delicious - medium priced. Lots of choices. Would love to stay again!

Signage was a little confusing with arrows that pointed across the street, never could figure that out. And you enter into the door closest to the Main Street, before you come to the bar entrance - not well marked, but a large door, so a little confusing. Lobby sign said check in with the bar tender, so you do enter the bar and check in with bar tender - not a problem really, just a little unusual.

The location was perfect for my purposes, working with the hospital employees. It's nice to be able to walk along the main road and visit the various shops and restaurants.

There were a couple of minor plumbing issues, the toilet wouldn't stop running and the bathtub drain was extremely slow, but that is to be expected of a building as old as Coulter's.

This hotel is above a restaurant in a historic building in downtown Afton. It was a great overnight to raft the Snake River which my family loves to do every year. The place was short staffed, but friendly and quiet (even though there was a band performance at the bar, we heard nothing on the top floor). The room was great and really comfortable and we will probably be back next year to do it again.

There was no microvave in the room, which I was expecting to cook my breakfast, but we just walked to the grocery and got some muffins instead.

I loved how friendly the staff was. The room wasn’t perfect but I would stay there again because of the nice staff.

Their web site is not up to date. They advertise bingo and women’s night for their bar and I was really excited for that. When I arrived I found out that they no longer have those things for the bar.

This is such a fun historic building, wit a feel of the old west. While there is no elevators, it was a very wide open staircase and a full service dinner restaurant in the lobby - - - we had steaks! All so good! Loved it all. Even had a band playing each evening in the bar with a dance floor and outdoor patio with games like bean-bags, etc...

Lovely old world hotel with lots of character. The bar was amazing. Located in the middle of Afton

The bed was too soft for my wife and myself. The restaurant did not open on a Monday

We came down for breakfast at 7:30 and NO ONE was around. They told us we could get breakfast at 6:00.

Tyson was super helpful with my check in and responded to all my questions ! The room was really comfortable, and location is great, in the Center of town! Would recommend !

The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating and immediately made us feel at home, he showed us around and told us more about the property. There is a nice bar and liquor store at the hotel too. You can have breakfast in the morning for a reasonable price.

The mattress was very soft so you kind of roll to the middle the whole time. If you’re 2 people prepare to sleeping very close together. Since the building is so old, there is no elevator so if you’re packed heavily, be aware of that.

The rooms were exceptionally large which was a huge bonus! The staff were sweet and very accommodating as one of our rooms had not been cleaned, so they upgraded us to the penthouse! Both rooms were exceptional. The penthouse had a refrigerator and washer & dryer…another added plus!

We were pleased with everything except for the restaurant being closed the next morning, but we understood since it was a holiday (July 4).
