The views were incredible - the pictures don’t do it justice. Heated pool upstairs was lovely, first heated pool we’ve had in Vietnam! The hotel and the beach are beautiful.

In Feb, lots of stuff wasn’t open ljke the downstairs outside bar etc - imagine it’s just because it’s low season. Shower in the room wasn’t great. We rented a moped and the security guys outside were pretty irritating as they shouted at us every time we drove up to park it outside!

Kudos to the management and staff of this hotel for the superb ambience and seamless service. The hotel feels like home. In an era where five-star ratings are often simply given to big-name hotels with subpar service, this hotel takes you back to a time when five stars genuinely signified excellence and meant something. There is an abundance of activities within the hotel, from the well-equipped gym and the game room to relaxing by the two pools on either side of the building, with amazing scenery, and the functional spas. The architecture is stunning, the interior decorations are impeccable, and the rooms are quiet. The staff are very friendly, easygoing yet very professional. The food and the breakfast are also excellent.

The variety for breakfast was outstanding, the rooms and views were great, the grounds including the nearby local beach was amazing. Everything was perfect and the Japanese restaurant was delicious. Will definitely return!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this remarkable hotel and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The view from my room was absolutely breathtaking, offering a panoramic vista that truly enhanced my stay. Situated in a prime location, it was incredibly convenient to explore the surrounding area, with numerous restaurants and amenities just a short stroll away. What truly set this hotel apart, however, was the exceptional service provided by the staff. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism, and throughout my stay, they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. Their dedication to making my experience memorable was truly commendable. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to a picturesque walking area further added to its charm. Taking in the stunning scenery while enjoying a leisurely stroll was the perfect way to unwind and appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Whether you're seeking a relaxing getaway or simply want to soak in the beauty of the locale, this establishment offers everything you could possibly desire. There's lots to like at this hotel. The breakfast is incredible and you can't beat the views, especially from the 11th floor pool which was always basically empty. It's got great gym facilities and places for relaxing. There were a few days when we didn't leave the resort because we're lazy its got everything you need.

As you may expect at a five star it's a bit pricier than outside the resort. Water was the most shocking, 70,000 VND (80,000 when they add VAT and service charge) for 0.5 litres. If you leave the resort though you can find 1.5 litres for 15.000 VND and if you're feeling sneaky you can fill it back up at the water cooler in the gym. Also! Think again if you want to use the laundry service. We spent close to £60 (2,000,000 VND) for 2-3 grams of laundry. Just stay stinky.

We had a wonderful stay at CAT BA! The hotel’s location was fantastic, and our room was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. We really enjoyed the food, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The beach next to the hotel was peaceful and serene, making our stay even more relaxing. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting!

The only aspect that could be improved is the half-board meal option. Since it was a set menu (the same for lunch and dinner) and mandatory for two people, my brother and I couldn’t choose different meals and always had to agree on the same dish. It would be great if each guest could select their own meal. Please consider reviewing this for future guests.

EVERYTHING! this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way possible. Location: The location is absolutely unmatched. Cut off and very secluded yet still a very short walk to get to the town centre of Cat Ba island. And where the hotel is, is incredible. The views from the outside pool - wow, from the roof - wow & from our own bedroom - WOW! Have never seen anything like it. The decor: The hotel design is immaculate. Maybe one of the nicest I've ever seen in my own humble opinion. The attention to detail is just amazing, such a welcoming, warm and calming vibe too. The room: Gorgeous!! our room was honestly so beautiful and soooo comfortable. The bed was incredible. It was very clean, fresh and smelt amazing. The general maintenance and upkeep of everything is to the highest level. The staff: They were lovely. Very helpful, friendly and professional. Language barrier was a little bit of an issue at times but to be expected. The food: The restaurants of the hotel are great, food was really good. We enjoyed eating there a few nights in a row. Honestly, I've been travelling around vietnam for 6 weeks, I've stayed at I think around 15 or 16 accommodations so far, many of them being 5* and this hotel in particular was one of my favorite highlights if not my number 1 most favorite hotel. I would 1000% come back and recommend to everyone else. Do not skip on this one.

Not a single thing. Was a dream from start to finish.

This was the most luxurious stay that we had throughout Vietnam. The rooms are huge with a very large comfortable bed with many pillows on offer, spacious bathroom and shower. Each room appears to come with balcony with beautiful views. This hotel is not to be missed. Breakfast buffet had everything you need and more. Menu items changed daily which was great. Spaced out tables so you are not sitting on top of one another. Now the pools! 3 in total with one on the roof with a bar and lounges to relax on. Bars downstairs by other large pool. Seating by the waters edge Is gorgeous. Staff check in were very friendly. I just couldn’t fault this hotel at all. You can catch a golf cart down to cat ba town for 10,000per person. Always Carrs around waiting for you so you will not have any issues. There is a beach next door with a great little bar but gets packed with locals in the morning and afternoons. Waves were great fun and water sports available. We had dinner one night in the Japanese restaurant for family members birthday. It was expensive and portions were smaller side but you expect that in high end hotels, otherwise dining in cat ba town is great.

It is a little pricey compared to other accommodation but for 3 nights stay this was our big splurge for the entire holiday and I’m so glad we did!

I loved the pools and the view from our room. The service was efficient and welcoming. The restaurants have lovely food and the breakfasts were fantastic.

The stairs leading from outside down to the pool area are poorly lit at night. The stairs are a black colour which doesn’t help. Recovering from a sprained foot at the age of 67 I felt really uncomfortable going down these stairs at night. There should be a strip of highly reflective material that runs the length of the step. Going up the stairs at night was fine as the lighting from above shone down. The front doors of the hotel are large and heavy and not always (as in other hotels) was a bell boy or someone there to open the doors.

Breathtaking location with stunning views. On arrival Miss Oyen was fabulous and my favourite hotel staff of the journey, she was kind , thoughtful , and a joy to talk to, a credit to the hotel. The room is so beautiful! Hotel is located 10-15 minute easy stroll into town, but just as easy and cheap to get the electric golf carts , which are always available. Hotel was spotless. Pools were amazing and perfect temperature. Access to beach also easy and fabulous beach. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of variety. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again.
