Mak Albania Hotel

Hotel staff incredibly friendly and hotel was a good standard. Location wise was pretty good just a,few minutes walk to main food and bar area, close to stadium if you happen to need there. Excellent food in hotel restaurant and good breakfast in breakfast room. Rooms a good size, modern decor.

Although there was little noise there is a building site either side of hotel, I think booking .com should of warned us. Lots of building going on in general in Tirana. Shower water more tepid than hot but ok

Very welcoming at reception from when you first entry the hotel. I am here on a vacation with my family and we arrived 2 hours before check-in, the concierge could see we just wanted to go to the room and then kids the pool so they were accommodating and checked us in immediately, with an upgrade to junior suite. Pool outside is so nice and we enjoyed this everyday in-between activities. They have sauna which I did not really use as outside was a sauna. The inside pool was nice and gym well equipped.

On my last day having breakfast my kids just wanted to go to the pool and didn’t really want to have breakfast. I dislike wasting food so I wanted to take away some of the food as they would simply throw it away. I got accused of taking 10 croissant. Also what I thought was rude was being told don’t put it on your plate if your not going to eat it. I am paying for the food and as an adult no food was left on my plate. In fact I ate some of what my children couldn’t eat but I am not a human waste bin to eat all that they couldn’t eat. Nearly all the guest that I saw during my stay left food on their plates but no one was told don’t put food on your plate if you can’t eat it

Bed: very comfortable, we slept like babies. Breakfast: many options, all very tasty. The room was very clean and spatious, with a comfortable bathroom. Great and central location.

In the Two person-room was coffee for only one person (one portion of coffee and one cup and saucer). Besides that we mentioned on beforehand that we celebrated a jubilee of our marriage. The hotel did not do anything as an extra treat to make that special (for instance flowers or a welcome drink on the room). Not that they had to, but it would have been nice.

it was a comfortable stay after all and staff was attentive. It was previously a Sheraton and now rebranded so it has a Sheraton feel. The kind helpful staff made it perfect. Especially the guy handling the nightshift during my stay. Location wasn’t perfect but not bad as you have stadium bars/lounges not too far away. Everything is a 10-15 minute walk away.

Negative issues were minor. It didn’t feel alive. Was it lack of music in the background? Small number of people around? I’m not sure. To be shown the way to the casino (Just wanted to take a peak) at night they open locked doors for you (to make your route shorter I think) so you’d walk through areas that felt abandoned/under construction. As instructed, I had the casino call reception to unlock those same doors to get back. Not exactly the most thrilling experience. Perhaps they were going through some sort of transition. Regarding the room, tiny details like electricity plugs were in inconvenient parts of the room and controlling lights via switches was a bit disorganized/confusing.

Staff is friendly and helpful.

Wifi in rooms is not good but excellent in lobby.

Location was nice

There was construction being done outside my window, not a great sight. My room had 2 lights not working, the kettle was dirty inside and the coffee cups did not have spoons so that you could stir your coffee. 2 adults were in the room, only one coffee in the room. The hotel has great potential, but these little things need to be corrected.

The staff are some of the nicest and friendliest we've encountered, in particular those who serve at breakfast, work in the club lounge and who manage the gym. Breakfast has a great buffet selection. The gym is very well equipped and definitely one of the better ones we found in hotels. The location of the hotel is superb, it's literally a 2 minute walk to a number of modern bars outside the football stadium and in the opposite direction, a 2 minute walk takes you to the lovely Tirana park which is perfect for nice walks. The rooms are nice and modern.

There is large construction happening on 2 sides of the hotel which I think is worth knowing but it didn't bother us on our stay and we certainly didn't hear it at night.

Great breakfast and very very comfortable rooms. Super clean and pleasant overall. Similar venues are priced higher in other places. What you expect of 5 star places

Construction right next to the hotel was noisy and woke me up at 8 in the morning on a Saturday. Would be great if staff could accommodate guests taking this into account.

i liked very much the bathroom & the bed was comfortable

The location is great the hotel good and the staff very friendly. Pools and restaurant in the hotel were very good as well. Overall it is a good hotel and can't wait to see the new additions and once the renovations are done should be top notch.

I wish they were more accommodating to certain requests. Using the excuse that booking.com just provides a reservation but doesn't clarify what we requested its just not good enough. I would expect them to at least make an effort for returning customers with kids. There are certain areas that have room for improvement on the customer service from the front desk.
