Nishi Apartments Eco Living by Ovolo

The location is great, close to the city centre and is walking distance from the train/bus station. The room itself was probably more than I needed for a short stay - there was a fully equipped kitchen with a stovetop, oven, microwave, pots and pans, plate and cutlery etc. The balcony view was gorgeous and I really loved the products in the bathroom, especially the shower gel. Also loved the selection of books in the room, and there's an even better selection in the lobby downstairs which has a cosy reading space!

I didn't like that the bed was so close to the door and corridor, but I really don't have significant complaints about the room and the hotel itself.

Staff friendly, helpful, attentive. Perfect location. Beautiful building, apartments are spacious, comfortable and have everything you need. Homely and clean. Always love staying here and will always look forward to returning whenever I visit Canberra

Sometimes can get a little too warm/stuffy in the rooms - need to air out in evenings especially in warmer/Summer months as there is no aircon. This is for more eco-friendliness though so I suppose it’s worth it! Very minor inconvenience

Staff were super friendly. We received a personal note with a bottle of wine for our anniversary. All the front desk and restaurant staff were helpful and fun. The apartment was lovely. I had to work while I was there, and the internet and work space worked out very well, indeed. I recommend a room that's high up since the hotel is nearby a busy street.

The restaurant was not as excellent as reported. All the food was rich with no lighter options. I like gourmet food, but simple can be sublime, too.

Friendly and welcoming reception and room provided everything we needed for our short stay including a very simple cooked and continental breakfast. There is a cinema downstairs so great if you want to catch a movie.

Parking is with Wilson’s. Don’t forget to pay as soon as you park out it could end up an expensive exercise. There is no air con in apartment which wasn’t an issue and could be opened up for air flow. There are ceiling fans in lounge and bedroom.

We loved the sustainability aspects, delicious vegetarian restaurant, location, view, and hip design! The bike rentals were a great perk as well.

We chose 2, 2-bedroom apartments for our family groups—however, the see-through bathroom without a lock made for some awkward family interactions. Also, the apartment furniture, while it looks cool, is not ideal for elderly people, who had a difficult time getting up from the couch.

Breakfast was fine but I would have preferred to order a la Carte, but that was an extra cost to the buffet breakfast. Staff were very helpful.

A room like that (1 bedroom with lake view), should have a king sized bed…get rid of it the silly Triangular table and add wall shelves then there would be room for a king bed.

I loved the view to the mountains but next time would get a room with a view of the lake. The monster restaurant was great. I loved the eco features of the room. I loved not using an air conditioner.

The bathroom facilities- the light in the bathroom didn't work. The mirror was too close to the basin and i hit my head on it when washing my face. The bathroom door was cumbersome. There was no exhaust fan on the bathroom.

gorgeous design and spacious rooms. downstairs was a delight with all the wood; stone; architectural features and overall ‘atmosphere’; food was scrumptious and very good value (had small sharing plates).

The bed in our room was small (I know it was a double) abs the pillows not very comfy. the room needed some TLC as bits of it were and looked scruffy. the noise from traffic when the doors were open for ventilation was loud and ongoing till very late at night. not an optimal noise. some staff (when wearing the mandatory masks) were hard to understand, although all tried to be pleasant and helpful. Reception desk staff were excellent.

Honestly cannot recommend Nishi enough for that get away we all need after lockdown and whilst restrictions are still in place. We were on the 12th floor, and felt like we had the place to ourselves despite there being so many rooms and apartments... we heard no noise from neighbours and when we closed the balcony doors we heard no traffic. Very private. The staff were super friendly and very proactive about helping us celebrate our 21st year together and my husband's birthday the next day. The handdrawn cards were gorgeous, we felt very spoilt!

If I haver to say something, I would just recommend better pillows but honestly, everything was perfect.

We liked our apartment but not the stairs in our apartment. Everything worked well and it was very comfortable. Liked the view and the easy access to everything in the building, including the car park. Liked the safety aspects provided. loved the ambience in the restaurant and lobby. Loved the food in the restaurant. Loved the polite and friendly staff.
