Capital Executive Apartment Hotel

My husband and I stayed for 9D8N I feel comfortable and relaxed staying in Madison Executive Apt. The rooms are renovated. The studio apartment we stayed are well equipt with basic kitchen tools including induction stove, pans , utensils, microwave etc. Room is clean with towels and bath amenities. They clean the room regularly and replaced towels. The day you checked-in, the reception will ask you if you prefer daily or every 2 days housekeeping. I like the location as well, the accessibility of Madison apartments in most of the tourist spots like commonwealth park / floriade flower fest, anzac parade, war memorial, museum, old & new parliament, botanic garden etc. We visit Canberra by bus so I'm so pleased to know that its near tram station, there are electric scooter rental and didi transpo is easy to contact.

It is a little bit noisy sometimes in the late evening especially when there are fast vehicles passing by. The room is facing the road. It is really not thet big deal since the good part we have balcony as well😁

I have stayed here a number of times over the years and I'll keep coming back. Staff are very friendly and helpful, always. The location is within walking distance of the city centre, which is very handy. The bed was very comfortable, which is a key criteria for us. The room was clean, with the exception of some mold in the shower and some small issues with the microwave oven.

The motel is becoming a little tired, but nothing that will stop me going there. Maintenance does need some attention, small things such as the pop up plug in the bathroom, the TV remote was missing but soon fixed, but one of the TVs kept swapping over to maintenance mode and the bedroom door would only close with a firm push, which was noisy. Parking is on a first come first served basis, which was okay for 2 of the 3 nights, on the third, I had to park & walk 200 metres, okay in summer, not so on a wet day

The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and tidy always. The cleaners were very good.

There was no bench to put the suitcase so as to access it when needed. I had to put it on the side of the bed as I used the other side to sleep. It was a queen size bed. My sister who shared the room with me had her suitcase on the floor because she could bend and take things out of it. I suggest the TV table could be moved to the wall, and space between the cupboard and TV table could be used to add a bench. Thank you.

Despite the outside of the building looking dodgy, the rooms are actually quite good. During my two day stay I worked remotely using the free wifi. The rooms, furniture and appliances all seemed relatively modern. There was a microwave and all basic kitchen appliances available in the room. I could walk down in to Braddon and grab coffee and a nice breakfast/lunch. Overall I enjoyed my stay. This was quite suitable accomodation for me while I was visiting Canberra while working remotely.

The car parking spots are tight and it seems like random people not staying in the hotel park there (taking up the good spots too!). The hotel could probably spend some money to update the building exterior, reception and hallways to the rooms.

Staff extremely friendly and accommodating. Location brilliant. Free parking which is a rareity. Airconditioning worked really well in the heat and the bathroom facilities were brilliant.

Bed (queen) was uncomfortable- we rolled into the middle which is the first time this has happened in ANY hotel we have stayed, regardless of price, since we got married 30 years ago so it was a big disappointment. The lift was out to the third floor which didn't bother us but it would less mobile people. Other people still smoking on their balconies despite signage everywhere which meant we kept our door closed.

I had a mix up with my booking dates and they were very accommodating in getting it sorted. Easy check in/out. A good size room which was very comfortable. Easy location to get in and around

There wasn't much of a view but the place wasn't busy or noisy. Bathroom was a bit dated but overall fine. I found it a bit tricky to get in contact with reception when I needed to call the front desk but when I did get through staff were friendly and helped give me the info about check-in and storing my bags.

lovely outlook over Haig Park, room is generous in size but not overly so, and the layout and furnishing are excellent for a multi-night stay, the kitchen facilties, desk and bench seat and chaise by the window are great, the bathroom is lovely and top marks for the refillable shampoo and soap holders instead of little single use plastic complimentary toiletries, convenient guest parking much appreciated, and the staff are cheerful, helpful and welcoming. Great location next to Haig Park and an easy walk to Braddon, Acton, Ainslie and ANU

Stairs are not easy to find and the sign non the door to the stairs is a bit confusing ( "keep door closed" implies don't open it) Because the lift is very slow it would help if reception explained the way the stairs work at check in. The kitchen knives were blunt. There were no herbal tea bags. The bed was rather soft and the pillows were too, but its was comfy and I slept well. Traffic noise at busy times but thats understandable given location

Great room and I loved the chaise lounge by the window!; dear little balcony that caught the morning and afternoon sun and had a view of the park and conifers, and the mountain, and the glossy cockatoos!; fabulous little desk with shelving space, great for working and writing with many notebooks; sunny and light room. Great to have the microwave and electric plate to cook own meals; close to Lonsdale st with great cafes and shops; lovely to have the park over the road; looking forward to staying in the same room when next visiting Canberra

What might have been better: The wifi light on the ceiling was bright all night = hard to sleep! (like an indoor moonlight) i was freezing cold! the 1 doona was v. thin - but thanks for digging out a big old-fashioned blanket for me! I needed a few stashed in the cupboard!

Roomy, clean, and with basic cooking facilities (portable induction hotplate). The nearest tram stop was just down the road, but we did the 1k walk to Madame Lu's for tea. The night before, we did the shorter walk to Zaab in Lonsdale St, followed by magnificent ice creams at the very popular Gelato Messina shop, before walking back to the apartments. Just over the road was the Sunday Markets. There was parking, but it was a tight fit spacing and was on a first come basis. The weather was lovely and warm, even at night, so walking around was fine.We loved our stay.

We didn't have a car but helped a lady, who arrived late, find a park and park in the tightly spaced parking. She was stressed as she could only find a park down the road until we helped her. The elevator worked okay, but didn't fill us with confidence. There were fire escape stairs if you preferred. BUT we loved our stay.

The Hotel was lovely the staff were extremely helpful, and we stayed 6 days. Canberra itself is a great place we still didn't see everything so will be back Love the Zoo we'll be back to go there.

The mattress on the queen bed was so soft on one side it sunk in. Turn your mattresses more or replace it very uncomfortable. Otherwise nothing. In Canberra itself more public transport to major attractions, like the Zoo. As in there is NO public TRANSPORT there at all we had to Uber it both ways.
