Macquarie Waters Boutique Apartment Hotel

Ideally located close to the centre of town within easy walking distance of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, our spacious 2BR apartment had views out to the river and ocean. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable and secure parking under the building was appreciated. The swimming pool looked very inviting but the weather was against us this time. Staff were welcoming and helpful, sorting out a couple of issues in the apartment and offering excellent restaurant suggestions for our stay.

A couple of minor maintenance issues that needed to be resolved but nothing that interfered with our enjoyment of the amenities or compromised our stay.

My husband requested that clean towels be provided on the second day of our stay. He was told that as it is a serviced apartment they generally are not provided and that he could use the washing machine if he wanted to wash the towels. The last thing I, or my husband want to do is washing on a two night getaway! Fresh towels however were provided , although my husband told me that he I felt the towels were provided somewhat begrudgingly. On the upside the towels were provided quite soon afterwards and they were spotlessly clean and fluffy. I don't think that it is unreasonable to have clean towels daily when paying in the vicinity of $300 per night. So if this is advertised as a 'serviced apartment' what exactly was the service provided?

The reception staff were friendly and the hotel room we stayed in was clean and modern. We were happy with the location of the hotel as it was close to the beach, shops and restaurants. We were happy that they have a secure care park for guests to park in.

The Superior hotel room we stayed in could do with a coffee table and another chair/ sofa so two people can sit there and relax inside the room over drinks and food. Another thing was that it would have been better if the reception was opened for a bit longer than it currently is as I wanted to request for additional toiletries but they had already closed by 4pm on a weekday.

Welcoming, clean facilities, efficient elevators , secure parking excellent wi fi 35 mbps . Netflix incuded. The apartment was huge with double glass sliding doors leading out on to a balcony big enough for a car. There were privacy roller blinds and a second block out blind in the living area and curtains in the bedroom. The glass on the doors were clean.The living room and the bedroom featured independent split system air conditioning and an a ceiling fan in the bedroom as well. There is a walk through bathroom and the water pressure is excellent in the shower. There is a nice selection of toiletries provided. Two 300ml? cartons of milk in the fridge for a cuppa on arrival. The lounge was comfortable enough and the dining chairs were comfortable. Everything we require for cooking is supplied. The area was surprisingly quiet considering it was school holidays and we overlooked the NMRA holiday park with picturesque views beyond the break wall. There is an onsite family owned restaurant called the corner restaurant open Thursday to Saturday for dinner and breakfast available seven days a week from seven am. The steaks are excellent, breakfast most enjoyable with nice coffee and the staff welcoming. The Boutique hotel is under new ownership and gradual replenishment and repairs are being undertaken. This will greatly enhance the appearance and guest comfort I'm sure.

Having back pain normally I found the mattress too soft to sleep comfortably, but my wife found it comfortable and many of our friends would too. We could not find the instructions to the controls for the tv or the stove, though we did not ask and eventually worked it out for ourselves.

We often stay here when in Port Macquarie as it is a great location, rooms are good and service is excellent. Being able to walk from the hotel to shops, restaurants, cafes and beaches is so comfortable and convenient. The car is in a covered security carpark with lifts to each level to make luggage handling a breeze. The rooms are comfy, with excellent facilities including a balcony. Reception was able to hand me an envelope with keys and information prepared for my arrival and there were follow up SMS instructions in case of late arrival.

All good no complaints.

the location was great and the hot tub and pool were great!

I think the unit could use some love. There was some gyprock on walls that needed repairs, peeling cupboards in the kitchen and under the couch on the floor was very dirty. The bed in the 2 bedroom apartment was uncomfortable with springs making noises every time we rolled over. The second bedroom had no air conditioning which made the room very hot with the afternoon sun unless the door was left open. Our room connected to another room to make a 3 bedroom apartment which was good except the light in the centre hallway flicked on and off randomly all night.

Everything, the rooftop hot tub was an added bonus, as well as the seating and OMG what a view. The apartment had everything you could ask for/need. The staff were fab, on checking out I had a few hours to kill before catching train from Wauchope, and I was allowed to use the facilities pool hit tub etc, they stored my luggage until it was time for me to leave....really can't do more for you

the sofa on the apartment was lovely and very comfortable only slight issue for me personally was it is rather low. i have knee issues which does impact my mobility and it was a bit difficult to get up from the sofa. thought I would mention as may also be an issue for others.....it was the only negative from the stay and it's a small one - I just used my walking sticks to help me

Exceptional water view, nice sized balcony, good sized fridge, well set out apartment, had everything, shower and spa were fantastic, very clean. The foyer are looks clean spacious and great when you walk in and immediately gives you the feeling that your accomdation is going to be same. Also has a pool which looks nice even though we didn't try it. Great location, walking distance to all the shops & restaurants. We had breakfast with my daughter and grandkids downstair and the food and drinks were supurb and good value. I would definately recommend this apartment hotel.

There was no splug for the spa but I made do and made up own plug. The lady on the contact number was lovely. This was the only thing that was wrong or missing. Things like this happen so I don't even consider this a negative.

Location has ready access to all town facilities- restaurants, shops, hotels etc. A one night stop in transit between locations. Room was adequate and clean. Best hot water shower I've had in ages during travels. Staff were friendly and staff in restaurant were very engaging and efficient. Undercover parking in the tarrif.

Room was on the small side and faced main street so road noise was noticeable (very light sleeper) - side street or rear room next time:) Bed was adequate but approaching renewal timeframe. Overall, no major issues with all the expected overnight necessities.

Well located close to shops and harbour. Easy walks around the headland or other points of interest. Secure car garage is a plus and easy access for luggage in any weather. Lifts to rooms make it easy if not on a lower floor. Quiet room but in the heart of town. Local restaurants are walking distance. All the usual room amenities provided and a good balcony with furniture for relaxing outside.

We have stayed before and rooms have been excellent. Our room was good but a little bit of wear and tear evident in the bathroom. Not a problem just cosmetic.
