Golden Riviera Absolute Beachfront Resort

We were pleasantly surprised how quiet it was even though it was close to the flight path, the pool was great including the BBQ areas which we used. The GYM equipment was in good condition and modern. Location was excellent and wasn't overly busy on the beach like most of the other beaches.

The side lamps in our bedroom were so bright you may as well as had the main bedroom light on and there were no other lamps in the apartment so if we just wanted to have a little light in the main lounge room we had to turn on the main lights. Bed was comfy and bathroom was fairly clean but if you looked into the drain on the floor you could see it was caked up with hair.

We have family in Tugun so know the area well and this place is the best for location to beach and shops of all the places to stay. The apartments were clean and comfortable, the pool is amazing, staff were friendly and quickly responsive when I had questions. Overall the place is very well maintained.

Halfway through our stay we had to move rooms which was very inconvenient with two kids under 2, this was because neither room was available for the full time but wasn’t advertised before booking/paying for the stay. While annoying the staff did offer to help and this hasn’t deterred us from staying again as we loved the place so much! Housekeeping put a large bag of sheets outside our room the day we were changing and as the halls are quite narrow this was partially obstructing access, I moved it at one stage to get in/out but somewhen then the it it back.

My husband was admitted to John Flynn Hospital after suffering a heart attack and was pleased to find somewhere that was close by. The apartment was very roomy, clean and very well fitted out, with little extras like clothes airer, pegs, eski, scissors. I have stayed i other apartments and not had these extras. It was very de stressing to walk on the beach each morning and relax in a bath of an evening. The reception wwas friendly and helpful. Secure underground parking was a bonus. I would stay there again. 🙂

There was a bit of road noise and it wwas under the flight path for Gold Coast Airport.

Close to beach, lovely shops close by.. surf club for lunch..bbq area was immaculate & well maintained.. as well as the gardens 😍as was the pool. Rooms were a fantastic size for the price, and well layed out. I lovely flame for family to stay away from the hussle

Nothing major.. bathrooms & toilets weren’t very clean.. dirty towel left in ensuite behind door from previous guests and another dirty towel left with stains all over it rolled up on bed to be used.. daughter didn’t realise is was dirty until she went to dry her face. Urine down toilet pedestals and on floor & pubic hairs all over the floors.. in both bathrooms & toilets.. rooms need a good dust & fans only went at one speed. I loved the beachfront location and the access to cafes and an IGA supermarket directly across the road . My apartment was up the back towards the tavern, it was very quiet and offered a glimpse of the beach from the front balcony, a lovely spot to have a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine. The apartment was spotlessly clean. The bedroom had fresh crisp white sheets and a large built in wardrobe, the bed was really comfortable as were the pillows. The kitchen had coffee and tea sachets, a good sized fridge, microwave and kettle and toaster. The bathroom supplies mini shampoo , soap and body wash, lovely fresh towels supplied. I liked that the toilet could be open to the bathroom or closed off for privacy. the bathroom could be accessed from the bedroom or the hallway leading to the kitchen and lounge room. the lounge room had a very comfortable modular seafarers and a good sized television. There were three options for seating and tables to eat at, the set on the little front veranda, the dining table adjacent to the open plan kitchen and lounge areas, and there was another balcony off the bedroom with a table and chairs. this apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The tropical gardens were lovely and the pool was sparkling and clean, a perfect spot to just chill and do nothing.

My only issues were with the shower being in the bathtub, I have bad knees and it was quite difficult for me to step in and out of the shower. Also stairs getting up to the apartment and down to the garage and bin area. Those are just personal issues for myself although for the elderly or anyone knee issues I’d suggest requesting an apartment with no stairs access. I will definitely stay here again.

Wow! Had to make a quick change accommodation to our rental car drop off so needed to be closer to airport for early morning flights and thankfully found the Golden Riviera. Hadn’t known about this area - and it exceeded expectations. This gem of a place - heated large and deep pool with small spa pool attached (the jets not working at time as waiting to be fixed). Gardens fabulous so many areas to BBQ, clean and wonderfully maintained and a hot water shower outside and a outdoor shower next to beach for rinsing. You walk straight out to the beach, private underground park, rooms clean and full of games, tv and ensuite bathroom. Laundry as well. Full kitchen and large living space. Beds super crispy sheets, hard pillows! and super comfy! Heat pumps in each room. ground floor garden room for us perfect - easy access to pool area with small patio and sliding door to area. So close to airport, via $18 uber XL or bus 2 mins from main street. Surf Club next door, like bikes, sunrises sunsets sea air and the planes - if you are a plane spotter- sitting in the pool at 5 pm and seeing the flights coming to land feels you can touch them. Saying that, the airport sounds are not even noisy! Easy access to collect keys and great information ! So so good! Did I mention the Rain shower head walk in shower !!!! Heaven! Also hosts no issue was a problem - loved it!

Not a dislike just a note - the walk in shower in our unit didn’t have a gradient and only a small lip into the wet room - so was not a fast drain into the shower so had about a cm of water pooling. Did it affect me - nope but was just noting!

Beautifully maintained grounds in a great location with direct access to the beach and secure underground parking. Our apartment had free Wi-Fi and Foxtel, was spotlessly clean and equipped with absolutely everything we could have needed for our stay. Extremely family friendly and the staff go above and beyond for their guests, including returning the video games my son left in his room. This is our fourth or fifth time staying here, and we will definitely be back.

It was close to beach easy walking access to beach and pool and close walking distance to eateries and groceries

The lamp shades and fans were very dusty and i suffer from hayfever so it was obvious they’d not been cleaned for a while, the aircon was great but it took 24 hrs to cool the place down because the aircon was in the very corner of the front lounge and the bedrooms were way at back and the front one had a wall for the cold air to get around…once cooled it was good. I booked online and it said ocean view room...there was a smidgen of ocean view between the palm trees in front of the unit and the pool...it wasn't the ocean view we had expected. The position of the complex is great but if I book again I would be making sure we had what we asked for ..an ocean view.

We stayed at Golden Riviera few times - it's our best place. Close to everything and airport. It keeps us out of busy city. Nice restaurants, pub and Cafes. It's a shame that the rooms we preferred facing the ocean were not available. We were given rooms that you can see a little bit view of ocean.....facing the pool. Anyway, i always loved to stay there no matter what.

Not getting the rooms that i requested and underground because my husband can't walk up the stairs. Hopefully next time, we will be lucky.

Everything was perfect except we were unaware it was being painted. Not a big deal a d realize it has to be done but the workers were on our patio for a few days and also outside our bedroom window. The patio was unusable for a day and thought perhaps we could have been moved across to a unit without workers and scaffolding since it was very quiet and few units were being used. Otherwise, awesome as before.
