Discovery Parks - Lake Bonney

The location and views were amazing and there was always something to do, the people were very friendly also and I loved the laid back atmosphere.

The airconditioning in the cabins could've been better, the kids room was stifling hot, it could've just had a fan at least and I think someone should be down at the lake helping with the hire equipment and giving a few tips on how to use the equipment as I've never used a paddle board or canoe and someone showing me how to do it would've been nice and more equipment as I waited all day for a double canoe and gave up, even though the canoes had been returned the keys hadn't so the one hour hire rule needs to be enforced I think hence someone by the lake with the equipment would help.

This was our second year staying for the Adelaide Cup long weekend, site didn't disappoint. Our deluxe cabin was clean, tidy and had almost everything we needed (just missing some scissors!). Fab location, we used both pools, splash park, lake, jumping pillows and communal bathrooms, all were clean and in excellent condition. Greate for families as the kids (14 & 9) could move easily between the pools and lake depending on what they wanted to do. Well set up for jet skiing on lake, easy access on the boat ramp and foreshore. They also loved hiring the go-karts. Good location for exploring the area, 20mins to Renmark and 15mins to Banrock station. Will be booking again for next year.

Two pools, splash park, pump track, bouncy pillow and playground all excellent. Cabin was spacious, had two ceiling fans and good air conditioning that worked well for hot days. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and cookware. Beds comfortable.

Life jacket hire should be included for people staying in the caravan park. Shouldn’t have to pay extra for this. Other equipment hire was also quite expensive and we didn’t end up hiring anything extra as a result.

We were a family of 7, Grandma, my 2 Adult children and their 4 children in 2 cabins. We all had a great time and there was always something for the kids to do. There was definitely a feeling that the park was safe for the kids to walk around or ride their scooters. The facilities were excellent and meant that there was plenty to do when we got back from sightseeing. The kids were never bored.

It would be great if one of the pools was heated. The weather was mild but we still used the pools but THEY WERE COLD bbbrrrrrrr. The kids and big kids didn't care but there were definitely some blue lips and it probably did limit the amount of time we spent in them.

Location, staff, cabin, view, peace and quiet, clean, well laid out. Had a lovely stay and will be back. Great spot in a beautiful town.

Could have used more lounges by the pools. The pool we used had 7 lounges and a lot of people on chairs or grass and it was not school holidays or super hot.

Location was beautiful and during winter it was very peaceful. The cabin was well managed and clean. The water park and the heated pool made it even better for our family.

Only thing that was a let down was the view. The cabin was called the sunset cabin but we could hardly see the sunset from the cabin. The cabins in front of us would have had a better view then us. That was honestly the only thing we didnt like. It was a wondeful trip away for our family

We stayed in an economy studio cabin which had a nice setup and its own ensuite bathroom. Kids loved the nearby swimming pool. Situated right next to Lake Bonney, it's the perfect place to stay if you want to do some carp fishing. Perfect place for a family getaway :)

A tree overshadowing the car park in front of the cabin dropped lots of tree sap onto my car leaving brown stains that took a lot of work getting off my white car. If I had known, I would have parked somewhere else :(

our cabin S2B-7 was a cute, little, self contained cabin. it had all of your basics in it, and the aircon stayed cool all day/night which was great.

the accomodation price was a little expensive for what it was ($544 for 2 nights), we found that the checkout time was 8am which is a lot earlier to most places, BUT the park itself made up for everything. The only other major fault to the park would be that current visitors get to re-book for the following year before availabilities are open for the ‘public.’ If every single visitor re-books then no new visitors even get a chance. i have been trying to book for the DEC- JAN period for many years. You’ll only get lucky if there’s a cancellation. it becomes quite annoying, and you start to look elsewhere.

Pet friendly Kids liked that we all slept together in the same big open room!! Playground awesome and wish we knew about the heated pool, would have bought the swimmers. Next time!

Too far from the water and close to awful old bus homes. Would prefer a newer room for us and our clean doggie close to the water Next time we stay longer

Loved the lake, pontoon, pump track, jumping pillow, pools although we travel a lot and advertising heated should really mean it’s heated not you need to wear wetsuits in the pool. Little cafe van most mornings is a nice touch. Movie night, visiting magician are nice adds. Lake Bonney itself though is the star. Kids loved it.

It’s very close to the highway so if you are not situated right on the lake their is a lot of traffic noise. It’s expensive compared to cleaner, better accomodations at other parks. Owners would do well to spruce up things make their old cabins retro glampers!
