Hobart Central YHA

I was satisfied enough to recommend YHA to others. 1. The location of the accommodation is the best - Convenient for going to and from the airport as it is close to Sky Bus Stop 1 - Close to the travel center where you can join local travel agencies. - Very close to the city market 2. There are many delicious restaurants and cafes nearby. 3. The bathroom room is clean and becomes a private space. 4. Good for reading a book in the lounge room on the 3rd floor. 5. The staff is kind and provides good guidance. 6. I can safely leave my luggage on the day I leave.

It would be nice if the dishes in the kitchen were replaced with new ones.

The TV room was really nice and there were several smaller rooms rather than just one big common area, which meant you could always find a quiet spot to call family / read a book / do some admin. I also appreciated the fact there were multiple bathrooms with a shower, loo, mirror and hairdryer, rather than having to go into a shower block or toilet block like most hostels. The bedrooms were also very comfortable and carpeted which gave the hostel a very homely vibe. It's very central and the staff were lovely so I'd recommend to others!

The one major drawback for me was the fact the kitchen only had one hob which meant I'd quite often find myself having to wait and have some very late dinners because there was just no available facilities to use.

There wasn’t a breakfast I was aware of. I had a room that wouldn’t work for me on the third floor, a top bunk and I was switched to a room that was larger with a bottom bunk that had a table next to it. I think I would rather have a room with no more than one other person, however some nights there were four people total and it worked out because everyone was respectful.

The kitchen area was variable for cleaning but it depended on the guests. The same with the bathrooms.

Everything. Mini lights, plugs are beside the bed Towel provided, toilet in the room. Tidy up everyday. Kind staffs Heater works so well👍

Actually I stayed few days ago. It was awful, and I booked same option of the room. But somehow they give me 4bed female dorm room. And it's so much nicer, same price....as 6 bed dorm room, nothing there, out of order toilet...😓 If someone doesn't like 6bed dorm room, better to ask to move to 4bed dorm room....so much nicer...

Great location, dorm room was spacious, bathrooms/showers were clean and available when I needed them (I went to another floor a few times), friendly people/travelers

Bed mattress was sunk in the middle. Metal bunks weren't super sturdy, so they would wobble when the person in the upper bunk climbed up or moved around. Was disruptive to my sleep.

Location excellent, staff very welcoming and helpful throughout the entire booking process, room was very good, comfortable and great for my needs - bathroom and bedroom were very clean, wall plugs for charging devices all accessible. I was travelling alone and already had plans so didn’t use any of the activities etc but thought they’d be very good for people

There was nothing I didn’t like tbh!

The location of the yha is excellent for exploring Hobart. It was with in easy access of the airport shuttle bus. Walking distance to the water front, restaurants and city centre. The pub next door served delicious meals and was a nice place for a drink after a long day of exploring.

The kitchen is small with no room to sit. The first few days we were there it was left in a disgusting mess, but once those thoughtless people who had no consideration for others left it was fine.

I really liked the location, the hostel is right in the heart of Hobart

The check-in time was at 2 pm but we arrived earlier as we wanted to leave our luggage until we got access to our room. However, there was no one at the reception until 2 pm so we had to carry the luggage with us and when we came back we had to wait in a queue to check-in.

I liked that it was in the city centre. It had a proper bathroom and shower facility. The staff were nice.

The kitchen is insanely small for a three floor hostel (think of a family kitchen). It had four stove tops. People needed to wait to cook or if there were many people in the kitchen. They had one butter knife in total. This is the one area where improvements could be made, I hope the kitchen is expanded in the future.

Charlene on reception was awesome and helped me out with everything I needed and every question I asked, including how to get around the city. She was brilliant and I'll definitely be back next time I'm working in Hobart.

Didn't get wifi reception in my bedroom, room 34. But not the worst thing in the world. Communal pepper in the kitchen would also be good.
