Salamanca Wharf Hotel

Spotless, spacious apartment with great kitchen, bathroom, comfy bed and pillows. Lovely towels and linen. Cafe downstairs was convenient with great coffee.

The air con was in the living area…the bedroom became a bit hot with the door closed. A fan would have been welcome. There was a window that could be opened but it was right next to a walkway and people climbing up and down the stairs, talking etc made it a noisy option. The location of the apartment I was in made it a bit noisy at times with local cafes and restaurants emptying their garbage and bottles etc, late at night especially on garbage collection day. Just an unfortunate necessity. The hotel itself was mostly very quiet overnight.

The location was terrific and the room was quite good

I am pretty sure we booked a room with a view of city or Garden. We were sent a TXT a couple of days out offering a Balcony for $5 more and I agreed. What we got was a balcony grided in with steel and what view we got was an old building on top of this it was right on the road as was very noisy. Not even a chair out there to sit on. Mirrors in bathroom are at split heights thus being short all we saw was our forehead in the top mirror. Car stacker is ok but slow Not good enough for a return visit

A lovely location close to everything that we needed. Rom was spotlessly clean and tidy. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was fantastic :-) Having the use of kitchen facilities and a washer/dryer was a bonus.

There was a few hours of hammer drilling going on in a room near ours. A lot of noise. Would not have minded but we had a very busy morning and went back to the room to relax and nap, but couldn't due to the level of noise. Would have preferred to have been contacted to advise this was going to occur and we would have made other arrangements. That's was just a fatigue thing for us. But just wanted to bring to your attention that we were not notified of this beforehand.

Fantastic location just around the corner from Salamanca but a quiet position away from noise. Lovely, well-appointed room and beautiful outlook over trees and a park. Staff were friendly and the room was exceptionally clean. Quality toiletries and towels which were replenished daily. Plunger coffee, hot chocolate etc + a good range of mini-bar items. Lovely hardwood floors, in-room laundry facilities, spacious bathroom with plenty of storage. The kitchen was well appointed with saucepans etc and extra touches that really made a difference such as a variety of glassware, a mixing bowl, utensils etc that made self-catering from the nearby Salamanca Fresh supermarket a pleasure. The service was friendly from each of the staff members we met. We stayed 6 nights over the Christmas period and the hotel kindly provided us with chocolate and a bottle of bubbles on Christmas Day. We stayed at the back of the hotel, on the 3rd floor, and enjoyed the green outlook and quiet location. We were very impressed with every aspect of our stay, and look forward to staying again.

No hooks in the bathroom. Could have had a few more coat hangars.

Location near Salamanca Place. Comfortable bed.

We were allocated a mobility room with e.g. a large bathroom / wet shower / low height washbasin / disabled wc. We didn't book this, and weren't alerted to the possibility that we would be allocated such a room on booking, or before check-in. The living space was very bare and not comfortable-feeling. The living space window gave directly on to a brick wall only a metre or so away, and the bed space on to a window into another room across a small balcony. The room didn't seem like the photos of the room we had booked.

We stayed at the SWH on the night before and night after we did our Three Capes walk. The rooms are comfortable, a good size, and extremely clean. Haven't mentioned the fantastic location, either - easy walk to Salamanca and not far to the centre of Hobart (also walking distance). We arrived after reception had closed and the after-hours checkin worked seamlessly. They were also happy to store our bags while we were off doing the hike and had them ready in our room for when we returned! It's that flexibility and service which we found so good, and we'll definitely stay there again. Thanks!

Spacious modern apartment within walking distance of cafes and restaurants. Comfortable bed and pillows. Great bathroom with plenty of storage. Loved the complimentary sparkling wine. Helpful friendly staff and good location for tourist buses and attractions. Right near Salamanca Markets.

Three things. The bedroom had three cupboards. One had hanging space just enough for one person. One had one shelf. The third was right next to the window whose door couldn’t be fully opened because of the window pelmet. They could have been combined into two cupboards with shelving. Also the washer/dryer didn’t dry even after an hour and forty minutes. The cycles were far too complicated. The fridge wouldn’t hold an opened wine bottle and the shelves couldn’t be adjusted because of the door covering the fridge.

The location was very good within walking distance to all the city attractions. The bed was comfortable.

Rather dark room with a view onto a brick wall. Very modern and attractive design but impractical in a few areas, namely the lack of a shower screen which meant that the shower sprayed everywhere, even all over the toilet, and no bedside tables - irritating if you have an early morning cuppa or want to read in bed. The bed head had room to place things but quite inconvenient - I guess typical of some modern designs!

The apartment was an easy walk to Salamanca. It was small, but had what we needed. There was a cafe underneath which made coffee and breakfast easy.

I didn’t like the washing machine/dryer combo. Just doesn’t seem to do the job -after 5 hours, our clothes came out damp. We also had a hiccup with our keycard. We came back one afternoon and couldn’t get into our room. We had to call staff, and they came back to reactivate our cards. The apartment was quite expensive,but I think that was because of Ironman.

The room was large and comfy with a view over Princes Park. The bathroom was large including a spa bath and separate shower. All amenities were well placed and functional for a self contained apartment. I really enjoyed the fact that each apartment had it's own split system air con and and opening sliding door for fresh air. The location was excellent being within walking distance to the CBD, Salamanca Markets, Battery Point wharfs and beyond. The staff were lovely and always ready to assist or recommend places to go.

Didn't find anything I didn't like.
