Maylands Lodge

The wheelchair accessible room was big enough and the bathroom was well equipped with space next to the toilet and a strong fold down shower seat. The room was tidied every day and rubbish taken away. The staff was friendly and helpful. Access from the car park to our hotel room was good. It was great to be able to step into the garden from our room. I was in awe of the view every time we drove up to the hotel; a majestic building with Mount Wellington as backdrop.

- We would have liked a permanent doorstop (one that clicks in) for the hotel room. It is hard to get suitcases inside when you have to open the door with a key all the time, and push a wheelchair inside while holding the door open. The same for the bathroom door. - There was no decaffeinated coffee or herbal tea for breakfast. - The fridge was a little too small to put things in for the next day. (we had to leave early most mornings before breakfast was served in the dining room.)

The room was exceptionally spacious yet cosy and comfortable. The bathroom was also very spacious and it also had heated tiles and twin basins. The views of the garden were especially good and the position of the room also provided excellent views of the surrounding area, Kunanyi (Mt. Wellington) was also easily visible from the grounds. Additionally the recently introduced breakfast service was available to us on our first morning and was excellent.

There was a light switch which seemed to be non-functional, possibly damaged from prior guests. This was mentioned to the hosts and they were very apologetic (even though this was not an issue and did not detract from our stay) so it has probably been fixed.

The Hunter 2 bedroom was huge and perfect for our family of 4. Free parking on property was most valuable.

With this being our second time to stay at Maylands Lodge, we do miss the full breakfast menu (A la carte). This was the main reason we came back and was a little disappointed in the change.

Maylands lodge is unique, it is quiet and has been very well kept. It's a warming lodge with very friendly staff (Jake, thank you for your hospitality!). The room we stayed in was incredible. Large and spacious, clean and warm, bed was super comfy and waking up to high ceilings and large windows with the warm sunlight shining through was a delight! We will most certainly be back here again, we loved LOVED this place!!!

Maylands Lodge was the most exceptional place I have stayed in. It felt like a home away from home. The bathroom facilities (heated floors, huge shower) especially were fantastic and the TV was great too. The room showcased original Tasmanian artwork which was informative. Free snacks in the 24/7 bar and super friendly staff. The room couldn't have been cleaner. Could not fault my stay.

If this was a little close to Hobart CBD, it would have been perfect, but the location made for a quieter stay.

The room was spacious, clean and modern and was quiet and peaceful. The best thing for me was the stand-alone bathtub with selections of bath salts and a fireplace.

I didn't realise that there was breakfast (whether included or not), which I think the staff forgot to mention, but really it wasn't a problem as we ate too much the night before.

We loved absolutely everything about our stay. Our favourite place to stay in Tasmania. The luxury, heritage and grandeur of Maylands Lodge was exceptional in every way. The lovely property manager made our stay truly memorable and he couldn’t do enough to ensure we were comfortable. We have already booked our room for when we return next year.

This is a beautifully restored historic home with modern rooms. The floor heating was very welcome and the beds were very comfortable. The view of the garden in flower was lovely. Very quiet. Little details made our stay even more pleasant- like plates, knives and forks and a supply of loose leaf tea with a teapot.

We liked everything.

The rooms were quite spacious and clean with big comfortable beds. The rooms can be cleaned daily if you like. Easily accessible to the CBD and very central to places. The lodge is beautiful.

It would have been helpful to have microvawe in the room but other than that nothing else.
