Somerset Hotel

The room is very clean and stylish. The staff are friendly. Downstairs has eight ball tables and is a relaxing space. The price is extremely reasonable and is often cheaper than most other accommodation in Burnie. The rooms are really quiet too we didn’t hear any of the noise from the downstairs area. We have stayed a couple of times now and it is always the first place we look at booking when in Burnie.

Good location. Refurbished, modern room and bathroom. Our room number 7 was a great size with a full sized bathroom. Fantastic shower. Comfortable stay overall.

Very clean on arrival but not vacuumed during our 3 night stay. Had to close the window at night as it was above the pub smokers area. Pub closed by 11, which was good and quiet.

Didn't have breakfast there. Left early. The staff were very helpful, especially with instructions about how to find the platypus park. The room was newly renovated as was the bathroom. All mod cons. There were stairs, but easy to negotiate. Very quiet. It was quiet.

There wasn't a car park, it is under construction. There is some parking on the main road.

The staff were friendly and helpful and accommodating for my arrival time. The rooms are a great size for one person. I have stayed here a few times in the past and whenever I travel up that way I will stay again for sure! It has a lovely feel to it and so close to the things you need (IGA, beach, Burnie)

I stayed for two nights and it said room serviced every day but mine wasn't and ran out of milk and by the time I got back that night and had to leave the next morning I couldn't find anyone to ask for some

We stayed here as a stop over between Cradle Mountain and Launceston. The room was very clean and comfortable, the air con worked well and we really appreciated the tea, coffee and biscuits. The facilities are great - there’s a kettle, fridge, ironing board, extra blankets, tv. Would definitely stay again and you can’t beat the price!

Rooms are new and clean. Everything works. Very comfortable.

Main bar area could do with a refresh. But I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't already on the cards. Already really appreciate the investment that has gone into this establishment.

I went to Somerset to play in the Tasmanian Open Chess Tournament. The Somerset Hotel was 5 minutes walk away so location was perfect. Room was a good size. Warm and comfortable even though it was very cold outside. Staff were very helpful.

Hotel doesn't provide meals but that's probably a big ask. Luckily there were facilities near the venue so I didn't need to drive anywhere.

I really liked how helpful and friendly the staff were; nothing was a hassle to them.

The mixup with my booking. The girl who was on on the Thursday night had told me that I had booked in on the Saturday and the Sunday but in actual fact it was Friday and Saturday nights. Therefore, I could only stay for 1 night there instead of 2 and had to find other accommodation on the Saturday; luckily this was able to be organised for me and my money for the extra night refunded to me. They were really apologetic about it, though.

The rooms are fresh and new, well-proportioned and very comfortable. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Location is convenient and price is good value for the quality of the rooms.

Everything was ok.

Room 5 was small, but had everything I needed and was spotlessly clean. Staff were professional and helpful.

The lights were like floodlights. Uncomfortable even with just one light on. Dimmer switches would help.
