Ace Western Motel

We stayed here as a family of three and this accommodation was perfect for our overnight stop en route from Vancouver to the Rockies. The two queen sized beds were very comfortable indeed, the coffee machine microwave and fridge very welcome and the shower was hot. The manager was friendly and welcoming and in the morning kept us informed of a local power cut which lasted only an hour. Typical motel accommodation with rooms accessed from outside. Nothing fancy, but everything we needed. Great accomodation.

Nothing... WiFi signal a bit variable at times but this is common.

The Ace Western motel is conveniently located near to the route leading into Wells Gray Provincial Park. It is also within walking distance of a supermarket, pharmacy and diners. The price is very competitive for the area.

To be fair the motel was everything we expected. Our visit was marred by a general power outage when we arrived until about 8pm which closed all of the shops and diners except one with a wood grill. However the gas station east of town had a pizzeria which were both open.

The couple that ran their motel were great. Very friendly, exceptional customer service. The motel and room although older, was very clean and well maintained. The fabric shades on the rooms large window were a fantastic addition - allowing lots of light during daytime but offering privacy. The larger 5 cup coffee pot in the room was exceptional for a motel / hotel room. The bed was very comfortable. Being able to park right outside your room was terrific.

Owner very nice, helpful, and accommodating. Nicer than the average motel room. Basic, adequate, clean, spacious room. Updated window shades, windows, screens which allow better lighting and air circulation than other motels. Bathroom spacious, shower, water pressure excellent. Beds comfy, but the foam padding on top of mattress was overly soft which made 2 people sink in, and towards middle of bed. Great location! Close to all amenities as well as Wells Gray Park! Would recommend over other motel stays!

Very noisy bathroom fan. Fan is wired with bathroom light switch so no option to turn fan off.

The property was conveniently located just off the highway. We were only staying one night but the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The owner at check in was polite, fast and efficient. The wifi was good and the TV worked well. It was nice to have a restaurant right next to the motel. We enjoyed our short stay and would stay again.

The owners are always polite and helpful. An onsite restaurant and pub (The Caboose). Rooms are basic but clean. Motel is close to a number of stores and eateries.

No fresh cream for coffee in the room. Fridge is a little small. We somtimes bring our dogs and we are assigned a room near some grass. The cost of bringing a pet is expensive, but it could be that some people do not look after their pets responsibly. Too bad the rest of us who are contientious, have to pay an increased rate for pets. Many motels/hotels allow pets at no cost. The last concern is that they have increased their rates over the last 3 or 4 years. They used to be a good clean place to stay for a good price. Now, their rates are higher and make me question whether we should stay there or look for accommodations at a better price.

Very friendly reception and clean comfortable room. Everything I expected was available in the room. Parking available, WiFi worked fine. A place I would recommend for a stay in or around Clearwater.

Basically nothing in/around the hotel. A clear sign to the hotel at/near the roundabout would make it easier to find the hotel.

The person at the desk was very friendly and welcoming. After we got to our room, and as we were getting our bags out of the car, he came to us and wanted to know if the room was alright. We told him yes and then he offered to help us with our luggage! I have never had that happen before! The room was very clean. While the motel is older there have been updates such as new bathroom fixtures, fresh paint, new light fixtures, new flooring in bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Location was just off highway #5, with a number of take out food restaurants near the motel. The night was very quiet and we had a restful sleep. We would definitely stay again if travelling through Clearwater.

I found the fridge a bit loud when it was running, but that is pretty typical of most motel fridges.

Location was quiet, restaurat within walking . distance, safe car parking. Room clean, cool, a little dated.but pleasant.

There was nothing to dislike, quiet green location, off the highway, no road noise, surrounded by greenspace and industrial building to far side but no noise.

it was quiet and clean. but biggest selling point was that I'm a "hot" side sleeper who is fed up with overstuffed pillows and extra "warm" duvets. they had low loft pillows and an old fashioned sheet and blanket that I could adjust to keep cool. but also extra pillows and blankets for "cold" bloods.
