Hotel Civilia Lakeside by Civilia Golf Retreat

Staff was very nice! Room was clean and recently renovated. The access to the lake is awesome and the chairs and kayaks being accessible to quests was great as well.

Room was advertised as a kitchenette. It had a fridge and microwave and a rusty/dirty hotplate and no suitable counter to use this on. This was disappointing as we had planned to cook our own meals during our stay. Also because the TV was in the bedroom and not the sitting room we all had to cram into the bedroom to watch. Finally, our TV was not plugged in or hooked up to the internet when we tried to use it. I had to do this myself in the morning when it was discovered. Likely just an oversight from renovations bit still a pain.

For those who do not like to drive from Edmonton to Vancouver in one day, this is an excellent place to stay. It is a little more than halfway to Vancouver. The motel is on a lake with its own private beach. There is a nice view of the lake from every room. The water is warm in July-August and the swimming is pleasant if you don't mind some weeds. The lily pads are beautiful.

There was a small kitchen with new appliances in our room but no place to eat, except outside. This is ok only if the weather is suitable. There is room for a small table and two small chairs and I suggested to the new owners that they add these.

Three years ago we drove right by this place because it looked awful! Now we booked it just as an overnight stop, not expecting much, but we were beyond impressed! They had just finished renovations in the room three days prior to our stay and a lot of the property is still under renovation to improve the campground and other amenities! The rooms are phenomenal, the staff is extremely friendly and enlightening, the location is quiet with amazing private lake access (and kayaks) and I can't wait to see what it will be like once they are done fixing it up! You will not regret picking Hotel Civilia as your accommodation when staying or passing through Clearwater, it is amazing!

Our favourite was Yulki at reception who went out of her way to make our stay a happy one (i hope i spelled her name correctly). Hotel is recently renovated and clean. Comfy beds. Perfect for our one night there. There was a small kitchenette for us to enjoy a simple supper and a breakfast on the balcony. Lovely lake with little beach for a swim. Great grocery store nearby as well as several restaurants. Although the highway is close, we enjoyed being a little away from it as i think the other hotels in town would have more road noise.

The property is under new owners/management and still needs a lot of work. You can tell that it had been badly neglected. The upgrades so far are great and the property has lots of potential. The only weird thing was that there was not a bathroom sink. We had to use the kitchen.

The rooms were recently remodeled and very clean. There were personal touches in the room: juice and bottled water in the fridge, a quality Nepresso coffee maker and a welcome note. We did not hear traffic as it was a bit off the highway. This also made it feel more secure. Hotels are hit and miss in smaller rural areas, and I do not expect the same quality as in a major urban area. This hotel exceeded our expectations for not being in a metro area.

We could hear the people walking in the room above us.

I love the updates they have done , the mattress was excellent since the last time we stayed ! Staff were very accommodating, and friendly. The view was awesome, it was very relaxing place to end the busy days we were there. Will definitely be back and the price was right too ! Highly recommend staying here ?! Ac worked great too thankfully as it was a scorcher there this weekend !

We booked it a s a motel with a cheaper price. For us, it was a perfect deal. From the outside it looked like a motel, but the room was completely new and had hotel quality. I assume that is the reason why it is upgraded from motel to hotel, now. Also, the support from the reception was great. The location is also perfect, close to the highway but still calm and also not far from the park.

Manager was fabulous and really went above and beyond. She seems to keep the whole place running smoothly.

There was no basin in the bathroom, only one in the kitchen area. The manager said they are in the process of installing basins in the rooms. We only stayed one night; however there was no place for our clothes? There was a large unit but it had no handles and couldn't be opened.

Room was clean and just renovated with nice kitchenette full fridge n freezer stove etc..very useful. Nice quite small lake pond where you can do canoeing. The new lady at reception Apourwa was very helpful by shifting our room as the initial one did not have Ac.

Bathroom did not have a sink we had to use the kitchen sink very inconvenient but i think the have not finished renovations.
