Comfort Inn Owen Sound

Comfortable room with excellent staff. Convenient location, and breakfast was great also. Really enjoyed having a floor level room with a sliding door to the outside making it very easy to move stuff in and out of a vehicle. Ice machine was great to have also, ice cold drinks throughout my entire stay

The employees of the hotel were friendly and helpful. The price of the hotel was quite fair compared to other accomodations in the area. Even if the rooms are a bit old-fashioned and the latest renovation seems to be done some years ago, the room and the bathroom were clean.

The second floor can only be reached by stairs. There is no lift which would make the transport of luggage / suitcase to the second floor easier. Some of the equipment of the hotel like the lights at the entrace area were not working properly. The breakfast room is quite small and only the typical items are served for breakfast.

The most desirable choice of accommodation in Owen Sound is a lovely waterfront property under the flag of a major hotel chain. But if that lodging exceeds your budget, then this Comfort Inn is probably the next-best choice. The rooms are thankfully carpeted (always preferable to cold tile or hardwood floors) and come with a microwave in addition to the usual amenities. Several supermarkets and a shopping mall are, while not exactly close by, still within walking distance, though the city’s historic downtown is some distance away, as is the waterfront. The property is situated in an attractive, tree-lined lot and provides abundant free parking and even a few picnic tables. The continental breakfast is unremarkable. All in all, this is a reasonable hotel choice, if not an outstanding one.

On the down side, the furnishings of the rooms could definitely benefit from some updating — not for aesthetic reasons but due to simple age and wear. The lighting in the rooms is of the cold white variety, which is fine in the morning but less agreeable in the evening, when one is preparing for bedtime.

The room was nice, breakfast was great, staff were amazing & location good. Having a room where I could park by the patio doors of the room and unload my bag was a bonus so I didn't have to carry it through the lobby.

The room was basic cleaned but there were a lot of stains left from previous customers. Which I get i use to be a house keeper too and understand you don't always have time or see them. Like white stains on couch, lamp shade on desk had a lot of dirt on it and the devut was yellow and had stains on it but was covered with another white sheet on top.

Bedroom, bath & bed all comfortable. The free breakfast was very good, lots of choices. The staff were pleasant & helpful.

I think the price of $260 is too high but we had no choice as we had an appt in Owen Sound, not there to vacation or go to a beach. They told me of a discount we COULD have had if we had NOT booked through a 3rd party. We were there for a medical appt and may have to return in the winter so my only big concern would be their location & the VERY uphill drive to reach the entrance & parking lot.

The location is very good: it's steps away from a Tim Hortons and just a short drive away from other stores and eateries. The room was big with a sofa and plenty of space for bags and everything else. There is parking all around the building and there are picnic table ls outside and even some BBQ stations which, I didn't use but they appear to be available for guests who want to grill their own food. The staff was very friendly. Watch out for the hill going up to the hotel parking lot and entrance... it's a little steep...LOL

The Comfort in was great in the fact that we had a good room well looked after and clean. The bonus was we had our pets with us and that was much appreciated.

Unfortunately the breakfast we had was certainly not one that I have experienced before. A person had to pick out our food and put it in a bag and then I took it to our room to microwave. Not exactly what I had in mind. I hope after March 21st this will change for the better. The other issue was with the sliding patio doors. They were extremely hard to open. I had to open these doors as my wife could not do it. These doors should be replaced. In such a nice place this did not have a good look for the Comfort Inn.

The staff was very good. The front desk staff realized that we were seniors and changed our room to a ground floor with access to an entry door without us asking! There is no elevator to the second floor. The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was more than expected .

The driveway was a little daunting but parking was great, close to the door.

The hotel exceeded our expectation. Staff, room, breakfast etc. - all were great! Plenty of parking spots and it's free. Room has everything we need. Complimentary coffee nearby reception. Overall we would stay here again.

Remote for the TV wasn't working. Personally, next time we would stay on the first floor since there is no elevator.

Easy access, new installations, very comfortable room.TV, fridge and coffee maker inside the room and a BBQ just outside with picnic tables if you want to spend the time outside. The hotel is only 25min from Sauble Beach and about 1h from Tobermory.

Because of the pandemic, the breakfast was served in bags. You get to choose from a few options (fruits, cereal, yogurt, granola, bagel, croissant, milk or juice) and you have to eat in your room. There was a Keurig machine inside the room with regular and decaf coffee. I missed eating something warm since the breads were all cold. But I understand the precautions and it worked well overall.
