Hotel Isla Rey Jorge

We flew into Punta Arenas late and out early for our tour - the staff mending the Recep at night was great, making sure we had breakfast packed and ready to go super early in the morning (including a pack of shortbread in different shapes - hopefully not something his family baked for him to last him through the night!!) Overall a great stay. Also super near Solo Expedition which we were doing our tour with the following morning.

The biggest bed I’ve ever seen! Sweet. Nice room layout. Nice big windows that opened. Convenient downstairs breakfast room and a kettle ‘on the ready’ in the lobby seating area.

The bathroom light was temperamental. Went on and off on a whim. Quite frustrating. We had a ground floor, street facing room, so it would have been more reassuring had there been some security bars on the window(s).

The hotel is near the Plaza de Armas, which is pretty central. It is an old, quirky hotel. The room was decent sized and the beds were comfortable (we had been camping prior to our arrival, so keep that in mind). The bathroom was decently sized. The breakfast was good, but might have been better had we gone down earlier in the morning and had more options.

We went to eat breakfast right before it ended, limiting some of the food options available.

Excellent staff who were helpful and accommodating. Excellent location near the Plaza beach, shops, restaurants and the Solo Expediciones office. Breakfast good. Lobby had a nice sun room with 24/7 coffee, tea and water.

Difficult to control temperature. Occasionally it was a bit hot. There was also a plumbing issue that caused shower to back flow and leak through the wall.

Great stay. Room was small, but I didn’t need any more space. Bed was VERY comfortable and the staff were pleasant and spoke more English than I did Spanish. Would recommend.

Only one outlet in the room (and one in the bathroom) which made charging multiple devices a little tricky, but I wouldn’t change my rating.

We arrived with a very early flight and were really grateful that the receptionis provided a free room for us immediatelly. He spoke good English. We also booked a trip with the assistance of the hotel. The hotel provided early breakfast. Very good service, we felt welcomed.

Perfect location just off the main square, two blocks from the waterfront walk. Basic but comfortable rooms, basic but yummy hot breakfast. Value is spot on. Bed was on the firm side, rooms on the top floor are probably best since walls are thin in this historic building.

An extra blanket would have been nice.

The location is perfect for exploring the city, for access to five star restaurants and for shopping interests. It is close to museums. The rooms are a good size. That staff is always friendly and helpful. And the breakfast is very good.

Amazing property with great location. Everything at walking distance. Great breakfast variety. Clean room with amazing round the clock service. Provider packaged breakfast for early morning trip. Will stay again.

A lovely old hotel located a block from the main square and close to restaurants. The room was large and comfortable. They served a good breakfast and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
