Hotel Kompas

The hotel is absolutely stunning, and we couldn't recommend enough getting a room with a sea and pool view, as the views are just beautiful. The facilities within the hotel are fantastic too, with an indoor pool, sauna and steam room, which proved very useful on the last day of our trip when it rained. Only a 13 minute drive from old town, and with a lot of bars and restaurants on its door step, the hotel in ideally located for those looking to explore Dubrovnik's rich history, whilst also availing of some rest and relaxation.

The staff at the swimming pool bar were not the nicest. They were not very helpful with requests like adding or removing ingredients from food orders, just saying the food was what it was and they couldn't do anything about it. I established this wasn't the case one of the days when I really pushed them about it. They also had a tendency to stand there talking to one another, blatantly ignoring you waiting to order food or drink at the bar. One of the guys even had earphones in whilst working behind the bar.

The rooms were silent which is great if you want to go to sleep while other people prefer to enjoy late drinks and louder music. Great lobby and bar with the view from the 10th floor for the entire Bay. All very clean, kind and smiling service, place for your car and service to park it and bring it back from the underground garage, good food at the restaurant. Once they were really late and offered us food for free with apologies for their mistake. Small but well equipped gym, SPA with small indoor pool and 2 Saunas, access to the beach with the sunbeds free of cost. Good breakfast.

The whole experience staying at Hotel Kompas from start to finish was just easy which is what you want when you go away. The staff were super friendly and couldn't do more to help. The rooms and beds were comfortable and the view from our balcony was stunning. In fact the views surrounding the whole hotel were all lovely. We had breakfast included and there was so much choice. The location was great - lots of restaurants/bars right near the hotel and the Old Town was a short taxi ride away.

The gym was a little on the small size - it had enough equipment but could've done with some more floor space for mat workouts

Beautiful airy, cool, clean rooms; we had a balcony with an excellent view of the sea, and it felt very private too; bathroom excellent with good water pressure in the shower. Staff are amazing, friendly, helpful, and made us feel very welcome. Food was excellent and the restaurant well run.

Not much we didn’t like but a couple of minor quibbles: The bed was two singles pushed together which some may like but we don’t. It was super comfortable though! The beach bar pumped out loud music until midnight every night which got quite tiresome. And the hotel owned waterside sunbathing area next to the beach did smell a bit drains sometimes. But that was it.

The location is fantastic, easy to grab a cheap uber to old town, next to a beach but not anywhere near as cramped as the old town. Not too deep in Lapad either, which while beautiful, is stupidly overpriced. A street with bars and restaurants is a stone throws away. The hotel itself was great, good service, very clean, plenty of sunbeds at both the pool and the beach. Gorgeous views as well. The prices at the resort were very competitive for the area, and much cheaper than upper Lapad where we paid some outrageous prices like 160 kuna (21.3€) for a single pina colada. One of my largest surprises was that exchanging currency at the hotel lobby had one of the best rates. Excellent breakfast, ate outside every morning. Fresh fruit, baked goods, omelettes, porridge, yoghurts, different fresh bread etc. In the evenings they had live music at the bar downstairs. All the staff was very attentive and polite, which isn't a given in Croatia. It's rare that I have no regrets about the hotel of my choosing but this was one of those times. All in all great job, had an excellent vacation.

Small annoyance with the bed being two separate instead of a real double, besides that the room was great.

The location is amazing and the views spectacular everywhere in the hotel - the room balcony, the bar, the lobby, the restaurant. The room was spacious, modern and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a very large selection of freshly cooked food, there's definitely something for everyone. The hotel has its own little bit on the beach, where you don't need to pay to use beach chairs. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Croatia.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Very modern, spacious and stylish hotel. I love that the bar is on the top floor when you enter with such gorgeous views and the cocktails are 5*. Our room was stunning - waking up to the view of the bay was really something. The best thing about the hotel tho is the staff - they went out of their way to make sure our stay was amazing, from recommending restaurants to making sure I felt super special on my birthday. I’m truly thankful and looking forward to come back with my partner again!

Our room was modern and well equipped with a balcony overlooking the beautiful bay. The breakfast was exceptional and we never felt too crowded or rushed. The staff throughout the hotel were very attentive and polite and were all genuinely helpful. Really good location to explore the Old Town ( No 6 bus takes 10 minutes) but also good for local bars and restaurants as well as interesting walks around the coast line of the Lapad peninsula.

A couple of recliners on the balcony would have been a nice touch. Drinks a little expensive and UK measures on shorts, however on par with other local establishments including local bars and restaurants.

Great hotel with brillant views. Hotel is very clean, breakfast options were plentiful and everything tasted great. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. Good gym facilties with good range of equipment. Outdoor pool good size with plenty of loungers and clean towels available for all guests. Live music every night. Bar located on 10th floor offers stunning views of sea and promenade perfect setting to watch the sunset with a cocktail

Staff were all professional and helpful. We had a well located room on 8th floor but could not use balcony. Good walk in shower. Towels changed daily. Breakfast had a great food selection daily with attentive staff. Hotel is on the water's edge with a promenade to walk to either beach or swimming areas. Bar on top floor has great views over bay.

We had 2 balconies but could not use either because the metal furniture was uncomfortable and the chair pads too thin to be of use. The duvet on the bed was too small and I had to ask daily for a top sheet to be provided.
