Royal Princess Hotel

The hotel is part of a resort, so there are a lot of facilities around (though as we visited in the off-season most were closed). The views on the ocean side of the hotel are incredible. The staff were very helpful and courteous, they helped us in every way they could. The complimentary toiletries are great quality. The bed was really comfortable. Food at breakfast and in the restaurant was quite good. The sauna was great. Getting the bus into town was quite easy though takes a little walk to the bus stop. Taxis easily available too.

The hotel is a little old but in fair condition. Part way through our visit the weather turned bad, being on the top floor we heard banging on the roof - perhaps some damaged roofing blowing in the wind. So maybe some maintenance required. We ended up moving down a floor to a similar room and the noise from the roof wasn’t a problem but the fire stop door in the hallway was a bit noisy. Luckily the hotel was quite quiet so it wasn’t much of a bother. The suite has a kitchenette including hot plate, sink, kettle, coffee machine (you must purchase pods), and one room had a microwave. There was absolutely no cooking utensils, pots pans or cleaning supplies so the kitchen wasn’t very useful. We were able to heat up leftovers but not much more than that without equipment.

Stayed with family in July 2023. Huge rooms with amazing sea views. Multiple spots for beach access and sunbathing across the Royal group of hotels . Amazing restaurants and bars. Wonderful breakfast on the property and amazing staff who are always smiling and ready to help. Multiple pools for families to enjoy and a couple of 18+ bars. Spa treatments were good as well. Overall a luxury experience you will enjoy.

If I am nitpicking, for a property of this price range, you'd expect dental and shaving kits to be available which wasn't provided. Some of the furniture in my room was broken and was with some sharp edges which was dangerous with my 2 year old. Also, no USB ports for you to charge but the reception always have spare universal plugs which they are happy to provide until your stay

The hotel is very family friendly. We travel with a 8month old baby and the hotel offers all you need for a relaxing stay. The room is equipped with a kitchen and a living room area. The hotel provides us pots and pans to prepare food for the baby and also high chair in the room. Whenever a staff saw that we need to lift the stroller up and down a staircase, they come to offer help. Our son enjoyed so much having breakfast with us in the restaurant. The selection is very baby friendly, lots of clean and healthy food. He especially enjoyed the pancake. Moreover, the view is amazing from the room. We also enjoyed the walk along the coast, a very pleasant 15 mins walk to the public beach and restaurant area. The indoor pool is heated. Our son had his first swimming experience in the pool. We also enjoyed a lot the spa treatment and sauna. All in all, we had a very good experience.

The halfboard dinner is good but would be better with a bit more selections. However, the staff is very friendly.

Location was great! Wonderful sea view from the room, I absolutely loved it, big windows, you could hear and see the sea while lying in bed ! The room was very spacious and comfortable, 2 bathrooms, one of them very big. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Spa was excellent. Rocky beach, very picturesque, very clear water . Lovely promenade by the sea with loads of restaurants.

Breakfast was good but dinner was less good. Not a big choice, food didn’t look very appealing, kids struggled a bit to find what they like and didn’t enjoy the dinner. We had much better dinner food in other 4 star hotels.

Stunning location and plenty of choice in bars, restaurants and pools shared within the complex. Absolutely amazing sea view from our room. A short walk to the bus stop and a great and regular bus service into the old city made it easy to access the hustle and bustle, whilst being able to enjoy a quiet tranquil setting on the coast. Staff were friendly and helpful. We also used the spa for a massage which was wonderful.

The menu options in the restaurants weren't that appealing and slightly restricted and we ended up eating out more than we planned to despite paying for half board.

Everything was really great; a little more accessibility on the accesses to the promenade and to the pools would be good, they have long stairs that are not that easy with babies/buggies/chair, a ramp would be great.

We stayed in a larger room with separate lounge, 2 bathrooms. Size of the sofa bed was good and large balcony as we were on the end, but sacrificed complete sea view. Spa treatments reasonably priced with daily offers. Lovely promenade to walk along which is lit at night, felt completely safe. Hotel part of a group of 7 hotels and you can use the swimming pools, fitness centres and bars in any of them. We paid for breakfast and evening meal, buffet style, reasonable quality, but definitely saved money as Dubrovnik restaurants are not cheap, e25-30 for a main meal. There is a bus stop close by to get to the old town, or using Uber was approx e10 per journey.

The only slight downside was swimming/snorkeling in the sea is not the best, very rocky and strong waves. If you can I would avoid the road side rooms as using the balcony with people walking/driving past is not the most pleasant.

Sea access throughout the property & a variety of pools (children and adult only options) So many beautiful areas to lounge/relax Mini bar in room - prices comparable to those at restaurants & bar Room service was quick Housekeeping serviced room every day and did a great job. Beautiful walking path from hotels to Prominade along the sea (no stairs!)

CONS: Food is expensive Zero kid's meal options No free water anywhere - $4/bottle! Basically have to beg for service. Maybe it is a European thing, but you have to actively ask someone to take your order, flag people down to get your bill, etc. Outside of hotel says Royal Palm - Uber drivers kept getting confused when dropping off

Staff were very polite, helpful, and very efficient. The hotel location is beautiful with great views, recommend getting a Seaview room.

Food selection in restaurants was very limited for children. There is nothing like chicken nuggets or goujons on offer, so we found ourselves going into town a bit more than we probably would have to eat out. The night we did eat there, the kids had pizza and our food was of good quality.

Excellent level - really 5 stars: a very comfortable room with expensive furniture, service in the restaurant and spa - also excellent! The room always had a comfortable temperature due to air heating and ventilation. Our room had a kitchen but no utensils. We wrote a list of what we needed - and they brought us everything. I also liked that you could visit the spa in another hotel, where the water in the pool is a little cooler, the pool is long and you could swim. Breakfast - buffet could always be supplemented with an "A la carte" dish.

Our room had 2 large smart tvs but all apps were inaccessible (password protected). But we travel with our own small set-top box that could be connected to the TV. The Internet is very high quality, so we managed to watch TV comfortably.
