Barceló Bávaro Palace All Inclusive

First of all I will begin by saying that we staid in the Premium suite and wow it was huge! We were in the building closest to the main buffet, pools and the beach which was an excellent choice as this resort is massive and a more distant location on the property would be way less convenient. The food in the buffet was fresh and the variety was amazing! The hotel restaurants don’t disappoint either! Lunch and breakfast at the Coral and dinner at La Comedieu was superb. The place is very clean and well maintained. Overall we hit the jackpot with Barceló Bavaro!

The only thing I can point out that could be improved is the kids club offer. The kids club was great but there was no program for different activities throughout the day, it was more of a free play type of thing where younger kids quickly got bored. The staff was nice but would’ve been great if their English was better. For non-Spanish speaking children I felt like there was a language barrier that made our toddler a bit lost at times and he needed us to help him communicate with the staff on his behalf. The staff felt shay to engage kids who didn’t speak Spanish also.

This resort is beyond amazing. The staff is wonder, location is perfect; not too far from the airport, the area is super clean and quiet, located on the beach. The food was amazing everything day and night. Reservations to the restaurants were great and high quality. The evening shows were spectacular. The disco was really cool and within the resort which is perfect. I recommend booking the junior suite which has a jacuzzi in the balcony. I think everything was amazing and beyond expectations. Totally recommend this resort to anyone looking to have a good time from couples, families and even singles.

the property was amazing good services and everyone was so kind and polite. make sure to go to Franklin for all of your excursions.

the food was not up to par. the employees are over worked in the kitchen areas. if you do go make sure you make your reservations for the restaurants the same day you get there for the rest of your stay because if you don’t you will get stuck with the worst time which is from 10- 10:45. the restaurant reservations get booked up quickly for all of them on property.

All inclusive. Nice beach. Nice pool. Included watersport equipment to borrow.

The bathroom and toilet do not allow privecy due to transparent doors and no locks. You have to brush your teeth and shave in the main room.....(what is this???). We had an issue in one of our rooms which they could not fix while we were there. They offered a replacement room and asked us to stay and wait for the staff to give us our new room but despite calling and reminding them, nobody came for a long time and eventually we decided to give it up.

The best part was the Spanish restaurant “La Fuente”. Their attention was wonderful. Specially Manuel Valenzuela, he did a great job hosting us and make us feel great. The food is delicious.

On the other hand Kyoto (Japanese Restaurant) was the worst part of the trip. Drahinin Guilamo was super rude to us and did not provide good service

We were not told that every restaurant required a reservation, therefore we did not get to try all of them. Need to explain all your amenities in more detail.

Amenities were great. Al a cart food was great.Good golf course.

Food at buffets was average. Bed was like a board.

The room was clean and the ocean view from our private patio was breathtaking. The staff were all very friendly and helpful; excellent service. They kept our mini bar stocked daily; we even got a free bottle of rum for our stay. We did the premium level package which was amazing. It was nice to try food at all the different restaurants; which were all excellent. The beach and common areas were well maintained. The pools were clean with perfect water temperature and recliner chairs built into the pool making it nice to just lay back and relax while still being in the water. The hydrotherapy spa was amazing. There was also nightly entertainment at the theater. They also have a casino and nightclub, so plenty to do. There are people available to help you schedule excursions, but I was very pleased that we were never bombarded or pressured into this (which had been my experience at other locations I have traveled to). We actually had to ask someone how we sign up for excursions. The excursion we went on was awesome and they even had a photographer there to take professional pictures of our family. I highly recommend this resort!

smoking allowed everywhere. 2nd hand smoke can lead to cancer, and I have asthma. It would be better if smoking was not allowed on the property at all, but they could at least had designated smoking areas only outside and away from common areas. Also, I was traveling and staying in a room with my teenager and adult sons. there was not much privacy in the room because the bathroom and shower only had frosted doors which were still see through. We had to put towels over the doors so we could get dressed, use the bathroom, and shower without seeing each other.

the resort offers everything one may need.

the so called a la card restaurants that you need to book in advance .. really bad food. if you want french food go to France ! The locals are very good at cooking their Caribbean food, but not European. So the buffet and American bar here has the best food. The rooms can do with better cleaning , we checked in and the toilet sit was disgusting... seriously?

We got the Junior Suite front beach. The room was very big with yard and Jacuzzi. Everything was pretty good: bed, shower, food, swimming pools, bars and restaurants. People that work at the resort very friendly too.

We needed to pay extra for the coconut water. It wasn't that expensive, but I was expecting that it was part of the all inclusive.
