Sanctuary Cap Cana, a Luxury Collection All-Inclusive Resort, Dominican Republic

The hotel is very beautiful and shaped in a colonial style. We were upgraded upon our arrival, originally we booked the Castle room, but without a sea view and the upgrade was in the newer building, but bigger and with a direct sea view, we loved it! Thanks, J.T.! Another pleasant surprise was a bottle of sparkling wine we received in our room:) The stuff is very friendly and welcoming, our butler Narciso assisted and arranged all reservations for us, provided guidance and support. We chose this hotel because of good reviews about food (in all-inclusive it's not common) and it proved to be so! Great a la cart restaurants, some you need to book in advance and some not, like the steakhouse - our favorite. Thanks to all the members of the team for assisting us and being very welcoming, in particular Enrique (!!!), Sanchez, Joselito, Suneyka, Francisco, Omar, Dario, Jesus, Cesar. Evening shows were also high class, not annoying and endless, but well performed and timely. We particularly liked that the hotel is only ~50% occupied, due to COVID precautions - the atmosphere is special when the hotel is not crowded. We loved the villas part, those must be astonishing! Next time we'd love to book one. It's definitely a go to hotel in Cap Cana, only if you are not looking for a long beach and clear ocean as those are the only things the hotel is lacking. However, it didn't affect our holiday as there are so many more benefits! Thank you to the team of Sanctuary Cap Cana!

The beach is very tiny and was full of stones after the recent storm, also seagrass was a big issue, despite all the precautions the hotel was taking. They had a team of divers cleaning the sea bed from stones for several days, re-sanding, repairing the net that protects from seagrass. But that's something to consider for those who are coming for the beach - Punta Cana and Cap Cana are unfortunately prone to seagrass issue. Beaches are way better in La Romana.

It’s perfectly arranged to make it easy to enjoy at your speed. The food is impeccable. Fine or casual dining? Room service? All amazing. But the real stars of the show are the staff. I have to single out our butler, Angel who took care of us in the castle. He was an absolutely essential and beloved part of our week. He made sure we ate in all the restaurants. Angel sorted our appointments (And there were many!!!!!) in the wonderful spa. Angel was just a great and reassuring presence always. We had the best tour guide. Oscar at the steak house. Gasolina at the beach. Cappucino at the pool. All were absolute rockstars. Room service was on point. The staff on the phones and those delivering were lovely, kind and so helpful. try the room service chicken wings. they’re incredibly addictive. When it was time to go the transport I had booked for myself didn’t come. The front desk staff sorted it immediately. Angel even texted to made sure we made it. How about that? Amazing.

We had such a great stay at Sanctuary Cap Cana Punta Cana. The food was amazing and there were lots of options. The customer service was exemplary. Oscar was an amazing waiter whom displayed magnificent customer service, was attentive, had a positive attitude and was extremely friendly. We truly enjoyed his customer service. Ventura was an amazing waiter whom made our dinner experiences memorable and special. He had an incredible personality and positive attitude. Felix was another excellent waiter who was extremely helpful, kind and displayed immaculate customer service. He was so professional and knowledgeable. All of these individuals made our stay at Sanctuary a five star experience. The customer service is amazing and I would highly recommend this resort!

The staff was very polite. The town inside the resort was nice and had many places to visit. Many of the night shows were really good and funny. The Blue Marlin restaurant served very good food for lunch.

The drinks and food were OK, but not great. The quality of some drinks was lower than other times I've visited this resort. Also, the variety of food in the buffet wasn't as great as in previous times.

We liked our room and the general atmosphere of the hotel

The check in experience was pretty bad. It took for ever. The person who checked us in, Carlos, was incompetent. The sea was horrible and I did not swim once. I do not like pools so at the end of the day I could have stayed at home. The seaweed was an ugly sight and a problem. I cannot imagine what the people who had booked expensive rooms by the sea would have thought, especially the ones overlooking the adjacent beach. Its the first time that I go on holiday and do not send or post any photos of the beach!

I loved the facilities and the hotel staff; they really give you a special (VIP) treatment. Jeremia was our butler, and he was very kind, friendly and always willing to help. Give this man a rise!

The variety of the buffet. The food was good, but it was always the same, just a few differences. I guess it's because the original restaurant for the buffet was not available and they used the space of an a la carte restaurant and you had the option to order from the menu.

at this price level you could expect better food.

The grounds, food and staff were all beautiful and made stay such a wonderful experience. I ready to book my return trip now.

the property is clean and has a nice atmosphere. There are a few options for restaurants; most are good but limited if you are staying more than 3~ days. we enjoyed it because we wanted to have a very relaxing vacation and do nothing but lay down on the beach, but if you are looking for a resort that has lots of offerings in terms of activities then this isn’t the one.

1- lack of activities and things to do especially at night. there is a disco that plays the same music every night and it’s mostly empty. 2- the Spa is overpriced and the service isn’t that good. we tried the couple package which was nice. i also tried the classic pedicure and manicure and it was the worst, it was very expensive and I expected to have a five star service but it wasn’t at all. the lady wasn’t sure what she is doing even when I complained nothing happened. 3- they don’t allow Uber to enter the resort to pick you up. we went from the airport to the resort with an Uber and paid $8 only, but when we left from the resort to the airport we had to pay $30 for the taxi!! more than triple the amount!!!
