First Landing Beach Resort & Villas

First Landing Resort was our first stop when we landed in Fiji. It was a very convenient taxi ride from Nadi Airport and we were able to drop our bags and use the amenities right away until our room was ready. The bure was a garden bure with ocean views and it didn't disappoint. It was large, clean and spacious, and with AC. There was a kids club that had loads of options if our kids wanted to tap in and tap out throughout the day (necklace making, ice cream eating contest, movie night, etc). The staff were all really helpful and very nice. The sunsets were amazing and the beach is gorgeous. We did a day trip to Laukota to buy sulus and kava root for our following village stays and one of the staff, Meri, met us at the market before her shift to help us find what we needed. She was lovely and went above and beyond for us! We also day tripped to the Sabeto mud baths, which was a fun excursion for the family.

I would note that this whole western coast of Viti Levu is cut back mangrove forests, so you're not swimming out into coral reefs here, nor is the ocean floor sand for miles. We still were in the ocean everyday, but your options of where to swim or kayak are limited, especially as the tide goes out.

Great stay as always, very good breakfast. Staff are excellent. Loved the singers at the bar. Was there for a cyclone passing but went well. No complaints at all really. Food at the bar is not overly expensive.

Not a criticism of this hotel but hotels in general in Fiji have an obsession with playing really crappy American C&W music and not their own lovely songs.

My husband and I booked 5 nights at the first landing resort and loved the amazing location it was quiet and overlooking the water. Our room was great however the bathroom didn't have a fan which was the downfall from having a perfect room. The breakfast was good however there could have been a wider variety for the all you can eat breakfast. Lunch and dinner were great the resort has such an extensive menu it caters for everyone's taste buds. The staff were amazing and go out of there way to make sure you are well looked after and feel at home. Myself and my husband will definitely be booking another stay at this resort.

The staff are exceptional. They are so helpful and friendly and really do their very best for you. Always smiling. Good sized swimming pool. Food of a good quality. Entertainment most evenings was very enjoyable. Traditional singing and dancing and the Fire Dancing was exceptional.

The location. It’s quite a way out from Nadi and some of the day trips didn’t want to pick up from hotel. You would need to catch taxis to get anywhere. If only staying a few days not a problem but any longer than a week you could get a bit bored especially if weather is bad. Also menu is quite repetitive if staying longer than a few days.

The beach and foot island were nice along with the established gardens. the beach front villas with plunge pools are second to none. the staff were all friendly and very accommodating when we requested an upgrade.

the resort presented as a bit tired and needing some life injected into it. the kids club isn’t operational and the playground out front was slightly hazardous. some of the service was slow, so much so that we didn’t have towels delivered once. Our villa was missing some of the basic stocks like coffee, a dishcloth and tea towels. The addition of a broom would be great. the main room although very nice open plan living had loud acoustics and when it rained was really full on, adding a simple mat could help. the villa may not have had much use recently because it smelt slightly musty and there was small patches of mould around some of the bathroom fixtures. hopefully this changes with busy bookings.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Staff always welcomed you with a smile. Only 1 restaurant on site, but there were many options for all. Breakfast consisted of cooked and continental. We stayed in one of the Ocean front Bure. The room was more than adequate for our needs. the room was serviced daily and there was always a note left on the bed. Was lovely to wake up, go outside and be greeted with just a beautiful view. The pool was a very refreshing after a day of touring. The sunsets are beautiful. The resort is location a fair distance out from main towns, but if you want to go into town or another destination the reception ladies will arrange a taxi for you. Only rated 3 stars but I believe it should be rated higher.

We couldn't walk on the beach barefoot due to the carol. The deluxe manicure was disappointing. Our boat trip to Treasure Island, the actual boat trip there was fantastic, but the island itself was very disappointing. Treasure Island food and drinks were overpriced, and the pool walls felt slimy. My opinion Treasure Island staff weren't very welcoming or helpful. The trip however did highlight how good First Landing Beach resort is.

The resort was an ideal base to spend a few days after flying into Fiji. We had bungalows with a sea view which although a few years old were comfortable and clean. The pool was excellent and clean but although looking wonderful, the nearby beach was difficult to use as the beach was full of stones as you entered the water. Food was generally good although the same menu large did apply for both lunch and dinner. Service could be a bit slow (Fiji time....) but the staff were warm and helpful.

Friendly helpful staff. Loved the wharf. Fabulous food. Great family pool. We stayed in the big villa. We loved our private pool and deck snd beach on our door step. Lots of huge couches and big tvs and outside seating. Close to taxi ride to latoka supermarkets. Great to stock up on food snd snacks snd drinks.

The villa could do with an oven and more kitchen supplies. The cupboards don’t close and get stuck which makes it hard to figure out where items are or access them. We could not open a door downstairs so did not access one of the bedrooms until the last day. Well serviced. Small things. We would return.

We stayed 5 nights, free breakfast in the morning we loved the staff very friendly and easy to connect with. Our room was clean and they even left cute messages on the bed with flowers, they really go above and beyond here. They even sorted a breakfast cake and song for my birthday i highly recommend staying here it is very family friendly!

Food was OK after a few nights we were sick of the menu but the ice cream was always nice! The reception staff isn't as friendly as the rest of the resort staff they seem stressed however we still loved the resort!

We chose this resort because it was close to the airport (I get car sick). It did not disappoint. The staff were lovely and many were greeting us by name by about the 3rd day. This feels like home. This was our first time not staying on the coral coast, and it was well worth the venture. It feels like authentic fiji. The food was a little on the basic side, but delicious and very affordable, as were the drinks. The pool is in a great area with a good mix of sun and shade throughout the day. The room was comfortable with aircon and good shower pressure. Over all, our best trip to fiji yet, we will be back.

The shower curtain could do with replacing and the bed was a little uncomfortable after a week, but minor compared to the many positives.
