Novotel Beaune

Good quasi 4* hotel, convenient location, with excellent free parking, quiet, modern design (but some design features naff - eg weird support pillars conical'ish, should not have separate wc from shower room). Bathroom 'saloon style' twin doors too near bed, odd design. All 4* hotels should have full size bath and shower (but if wc separate must have a wash hand basin in wc !). The twit who designed the bedroom/bathroom/wc layout should go back to basic design school ! The restaurant meal we had on arrival was very poor - food only just warm, frites soft, cool, undercooked, no sauce, very basic etc. No excuses - chef/restaurant manager needs replacing. But breakfast excellent - but why not have boiling/hot water tureen for boiling eggs ? Really disappointing and expensive. for only one night stay .

Very friendly staff. Very clean room and comfortable beds. Good breakfast - fresh, local produce with good variety. You can cook your own egg to your liking in a small pan - a nice touch. Small pancakes with a good variety of jam. Free and secure parking. Restaurant - very good dining at fair prices. There is also a bar with a comfortable lounge to relax. Quiet room although situated next to the freeway exit. In the lobby there are games for the kids.

The location - although convenient because it is right on the freeway exit, it is not ideal for longer stays.

Nice location, super friendly and competent staff. They now have key cards made out of bamboo instead of plastic. They use reusable bottles instead of plastic. They are super responsive via email if you any issues with the invoice for instance.

In general it was pretty perfect. For us it would’ve been perfect if they had a “real” charging station for EVs. The one they got right now is so so, but it works alt least with overnight charge.

The rooms are quite small, so with the sofa bed out there is not much space to move around. The breakfast choice was huge, we had dinner in the hotel on arrival which was okay but not outstanding. The pool was excellent and obviously in the very hot weather we had always crowded.

The rooms are small with 3 people, the air conditioning was on full blast but it didn't work that well.

Grandparents, travelling with adult son and his 18-month child; rooms given were as requested - adjacent, one with a bathtub, one with a shower, and a connecting door. Crib for child. Very responsive customer service by check-in staff. Bed very comfortable, room was spacious (both Classic double rooms). V similar to other Novotels - perfect for one night. Very good service in the dining room for dinner, and good quality food, quickly served. Wine list (this was Beaune) was a feature of both the dining room and the bar. During covid, everyone masked and with a wristband to show pass sanitaire - good idea. Carparking accessible and plentiful, easy on-off from the autoroute (but watch for deviation signs for access to hotel, there's construction currently). Two nearby gas stations for fill-up.

Many families were making post-Christmas journeys home. The dining room doesn't open for dinner until 7pm (early by normal France custom) but families with hungry children were in line for dinner. Everyone was quickly seated, but it's a little late for small children to eat. The elevators were v. busy in the morning (at 9.30) and guests who can use the stairs should be encouraged to use them (although not very well marked). (Guests shoo'ed away people from entering the elevators, understandable given covid).

Friendly staff, great service. Quiet, perfect stopover en-route to Italy! We've been staying here for many years, tried other locations on different routes, but this route, proximity to the road and secure parking works for us.

We travel with our dog, she takes up no room and we bring her own bed. I think a deposit should be charged for dogs and payment taken only if the dog makes a mess. They used to have the most amazing burger on the menu, I would look forward to that on the drive home from Siena. The last two years it's not been available. This year I had steak medium rare, but it arrived (more than) well done. I should have returned it, and I'm sure the staff would have been perfectly understanding. But we were hungry and tired.

The hotel is well located .We have stayed before at this hotel and we loved it . Clean and comfortable,the entire facilities are great . The pool is great ,especially for kids . The breakfast is perfect with lots of options .

In regards with the dinner . There aren’t many choices and I personally think this needs to improve. it is a shame because it’s a very nice hotel with really good facilities and it isn’t cheap at all .

Great location in close proximity to the city center of Beaune and a short drive to Dijon. We took our race bikes with us so we could explore the beautiful vinyards at the Rue de Grands Crus. The pool was also very nice.

The ac didn't cool as much as we would have liked

service was quite poor. staff were busy getting tables ready for breakfast and people were still eating and arriving for dinner. no water offered for dog. No one available at the bar (see previous comments.) only paper cups in room no glasses Breakfast additional cost was too high.

Easy check in, lounge bar and restaurant have nice atmosphere. Breakfast and restaurant food good.

The room could be bigger, tight squeeze between bed and shower room. For hygiene reasons would prefer hard floors as carpets hang on to pet smells. Would like choice of pet free rooms.
