Leonardo Hotel Aachen

The hotel surely met our expectations - and beyond. We were travelling as a family and we had asked for our rooms to be quiet and close to each other. The hotel provided us with two indeed very quiet rooms that were adjucent to each other, connected through an internal door. That made our stay even more comfortable, in effect our two double rooms were turned into a suite. Both rooms had plenty of space, very clean, the beds were big and comfortable. Both bathrooms were equiped with a bathtube. One may find the furniture style in the rooms somehow outdated, but we liked it, there was plenty of space for clothes (wardrobe), shoes, and for storing all sorts of things. If you stay for longer than one or two days, that makes a difference. Most of the staff were very friendly and accomodating, and the breakfast, which was included in the price, offered a variety of options, both cold and warm, including fresh fruits. Despite COVID-19 regulations, everything went on very smoothly during breakfast time, the hotel arranged the breakfast area and time slots in such a way that there was plenty of space and time for everyone to enjoy breakfast time. The hotel is situated at the entrance to the city but if you arrive there by car, it is a matter of 10 minutes drive to arrive in the city center. All that to a reasonable price. We gladly recommend this hotel and we will surely stay there again!

The first morning, during breakfast, the TV in the breakfast area was showing a documentary about wild animals - the images of snakes devouring mice or crocodiles eating up all sorts of living, trembling creatures were somewhat not very appetising :-)

The main highlight in the room for me personally was bathtub, because I like it when I can relax in it. The room was quite spacious, with a TV set (I didn't used it at all), capsule coffee machine (it was nice with 4 free capsules), some free tea and a bottle of sparkling water (also free). I also found a kettle somewhere, but it wasn't on a table. I had no breakfast included, so I don't know what it looks like. The staff was nice and friendly, it was a pleasure to talk with them. There are some places to eat not very far away from the hotel (not fancy ones, but it's fine).

I will write here everything that might be important for some people, but for me it wasn't problem at all. There were no slippers in a room. I also haven't noticed any fridge, even small one. My windows faced the street with lots of cars — for me it wasn't noisy, even if I am sensitive to sounds. But for some people it may be better to ask for another room. The main challenge was location. Without a car it's a bit far away from center, but I believe that for those with an auto it's just a great place to stay.

Excellent service, very friendly and professional. was greeted by receptionist who explained everything to us - provided us with extra cot bed and said if we needed extra sofa bed to be done it’s not a problem at all! My daughter was crying for banana and she has managed to find us one 😊 breakfast service very fast and efficient, good choice of food . Overal very good customer service. Pleasant stay although hotel could do with a little refurbishment 😊 thank you! Will be back again

Travelled with my mother and sister, had 2 double beds in the room which was big enough and clean. enough parking space in front of hotel, only for guests. Went to the Xmas market in Aachen by bus, bus stop only 5 min walk from the hotel and bus ride takes only about 15 min. Breakfast was a lovely, big buffet. Sat at the bar in the evening for a night cap, was pleasant. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception, bar and breakfast.

Breakfast was a bit of a mess. I recommend going before 8.30 or after 9.15 as any time in between you will be waiting in line for a free table. Breakfast space is clearly too small for the number of guests they can accommodate. They did make use of their conference rooms to seat more people during the busier times, to try and seat people asap.

- Strong and hot shower - Comfortable bed - Good location, right by a bus stop to the city centre - Very friendly and accommodating staff (thank you for putting up with our attempted German and switching to English when we needed it!) - Nice and fresh breakfast

- Pillows weren’t the best, needed quite a few to prop my head up and woke up every morning with bed-headed hair. - Elements of decor were very drab and dull both in the rooms and elsewhere - Would have perhaps hoped it was a little cheaper, but can only hope it were if the world economy was better.

Leonardos generally do not disappoint and neither did this one. Bed was comfy, free water, good shower, toiletries, quiet room.

It is rather far away from the centre - which isn't a problem if you have a car, but public transport isn't the best especially at night to connect you to the centre. If you've not a car and wish to go out at night (or if you do have a car but want to drink), consider that you may well need taxi rides, realistically (which are rather affordable in Aachen).

The room had a bathtub. Huge windows, lots of light. Spacous wardrobe. One of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. Nice, friendly staff who spoke English very well. There are plenty of restaurants and shops around, the old town is reachable on foot. Parking was super cheap in comparison with other places (8 euro per day).

A bid outdated furniture. Keep in mind, everything is closed on Sundays in Germany, except Burger King in front of the hotel.

-breakfast time was a bit late. I didn't check out before booking, it was starting 7.30 am if it was 7.00 am it would be perfect. This was because we were attending a bike race in Maastricht. -making the hotel carpark still paid for the customers is a bit strange for us. I understand hotel is close to the stadium and it might be a top location in some cases but they can still make it paid for people who are not staying in the hotel. Booking a 4 starred hotel and still paying for the parking is a bit annoying.

there was a continuous noise from the ventilation in the bathroom. the bathroom door had to be shut at all times if you wanted the noise to be less noticeable. this however did not affect my stay there and I have enjoyed the time spent there.

Rooms and bathrooms are a bit dated Bathtub with shower - you need to climb into the bath tub to shower - I prefer just a walk- in shower
