Location was fantastic. Very close to the Rhine and numerous bars and restaurants. We felt part of the historic town and although it was great fun and lively, there was no noise in the hotel whatsoever. The rooms were large with great kitchen and washing facilities and the shower was the best I've ever used in a hotel. The hotel building was spectacular and the feeling of grandeur was everywhere

The room was too warm. The air con worked but it was centrally set to not go below 20 degrees (I presume to save the hotel money), so I couldn't sleep on any of the nights. We left the windows open to get some cool air in but woke up to 3 pigeons sitting on the end of our bed! The bed mattress was too hard also. The staff were friendly but there was no personality to the atmosphere of the hotel

The hardware is impressive, the location is excellent.

The software of the hotel, the service standard could be improved. With such an impressive hotel, the guest expectation for guest service would be high. I was disappointed to see the team do not serve with a smile, there was no warm and friendly atmosphere. There was no greeting of the guests. It seemed a lack of hospitality service excellence which is a pity as the hotel itself is great.

We really liked the size of the rooms and the independence that the size and room facilities allowed. With two bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, etc. it allowed us to use the room to rest, work, relax, and eat

The reception desk is hidden all the way at the back of the hotel. Upon arrival, there was no sign and no one to greet us at the entrance to let us know that the little desk upon entry wasn't the reception, my mother had to go out to explore while I stood at the front with our luggage to wait. In total I stood there waiting around 10-15 minutes. The room service menu is very limited.

Excellent place in about 50-100 m from the old town and river. Very comfortable bed, quiet room, always clean. Well equipped kitchenette. There were no problems with the internet.

Metal chair on the balcony - not very comfortable when it's cold outside. A mini table where you can put a cup of coffee would be very handy.

I think The Wellem is one of the best new hotels in Germany, up there with The Fontenay in Hamburg and The Beyond by Geisel in Munich. Spectacular location in a former court house right in the middle of Altstadt, walking distance to everything that matters in Düsseldorf. We got an upgrade to an Executive suite, which had high ceilings, large windows and a fully equipped kitchen. Breakfast was high quality, unfortunately we couldn't try the restaurant, which looked very inviting. We would have stayed longer if we had had more time.

Only problem was the staff shortage, but due to Corona a lot of hotels and restaurants in Germany are suffering from this problem currently. Regardless, the staff was very friendly, helpful and professional.

Staying at The Wellem is an experience I'm surely looking forward to repeating. The room (Balcony Business Suite) is absolutely comfortable, beautiful and quiet. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, where an impressive fully restored Gericht meets modern art with its greatest names - a surprise in every corner. A charming bar, restaurants for every wish, location couldn't be better. The staff is the best, and I have to make a special comment here: the doorman Bachir is also a highlight during the stay, very, very friendly and a good chat! A real entertainer! If you're in doubt where to stay in Düsseldorf, don't be anymore: The Wellem is *the place* for that special weekend or for a longer vacation! In the middle of the Düsseldorfer fun!

Great to see an historically significant building of architectural merit, converted sensitively for use as a hotel. Great decor, wonderful rooms, and very friendly staff. Pity that COVID restricts the full use of the hotel facilities.

When arriving at the front of the hotel with your car there should be a Concierge/Door Man to greet and take luggage, then take the car to the underground parking in the rear. Instead, whilst I entered the hotel to find someone to assist us, my Wife had to fend off the Parking Officers who were ready to issue a ticket!

sometimes the team was too involved with themselves in public locations, for example at the check in,.. showing eachother their socials on their phones,..not done while guests are waiting in line for assistance

Beautiful hotel. Lovely professional staff, always ready to help. Tamara the duty manager was great, she was just so helpful and considerate, she made my stay.

Stayed for several nights. I felt breakfast could be better in that it was the same everyday. There were limited vegetarian options. They ran out of basics like Philadelphia cheese!
