Hotel Gladbeck van der Valk

The room was outdated but extremely clean and comfortable, especially the comfy fluffy bedding, and the gorgeous marble bathroom with full tub and separate shower. Also the outside terrace with lovely views was a nice touch. The breakfast included was a great spread from hot and cold foods, juices and coffees and teas. And the buffet dinner was excellent with lots of choices of beef, chicken, seafood and vegetarian options, salads and more. The staff front desk were super friendly, and the restaurant staff were very nice as well. Would come back again and recommend Hotel Gladbeck to all.

It was 27.00 Euro taxi drive to Veltins Arena which was expensive for the 2 day convention which came up to over 100.00 Euros for the 4 taxi rides. But, other than that, everything else was great!

Perfect location for us during a drive from the UK to east Germany, right beside the Autobahn. Huge hotel with great staff. Staff went out of their way to put us in a room that suited our needs (lots of equipment to load into the hotel, they gave us a room with a door directly to the carpark for easy loading in/out). Great price

Due to some renovations it was quite difficult to navigate around the hotel and some facilities weren't available (Pool tables out of action and we couldn't find a working vending machine). Rooms a little dated but as to be expected a the price and didn't bother us.

Comfortable beds, quiet room with terrace, breakfast buffet with lots of options, staff was very friendly

The door to the badroom is a sliding door which opens towards the beds and makes a lot of noise which is not practical when there are two people sleeping in the room. Either you wake up from the noise or the light in de bathroom (if you leave the door open continually). Bathroom itself is nice enough with seperate bath and shower.

Liked the helpful nature of the staff and their willingness to help at any time given a call. Also it was nice to have front desk staff who could communicate in English

Did not like - Location , had real tough time travelling to Messe Dusseldorf , even the accessibility to ones room changing 2 lifts was a bit uneasy Transportation was a real challenge

Great, just off the motorway location. Comfortable, clean and well equipped rooms with impressive bathrooms. Quiet and cosy night. Well stocked and delicious breakfast buffet.

No tea provided in the room despite kettle being present. Checking in form could be filled in with the traveler's details automatically from the booking site. It would save time on check in.

Very convenient old fashion but well maintained hotel. Good restaurant. Friendly staff. Quiet even though located only 5 minutes from the highway. 175 kW and 2x50 kW EV chargers on the hotel’s parking slot. I will definitely have a pit stop again next time I am passing by.

This time most of the staff where friendly and helpful.

The morning staff still push you all together in to a small area although all the tables are set up for breakfast, you have to sit where they tell you.

Hotel is close to a very nice green area (Wittringen). Always worth a visit. The forest is great for walking and jogging. You can also find nice places to eat there. In the hotel the food is very good. You can find a very nice breakfast and good options also for dinner

Wi-Fi in the rooms is weak and unstable

Good breakfast and really friendly and professional staff. Beds are excellent and enough parking spots near the hotel.

Long hike with luggage from room to entrance. The building isn't really 'noise canceling' so you can hear your neighbors quite well.
