Steigenberger Conti Hansa

Super friendly and hospitable staff, very comfy and large beds, maritime decor that doesn't feel cheap. Overall, the Conti has a sophisticated and cared-for feel about it that makes me feel welcome.

I found the rooms to be overheated, it was especially warm at night, even with the windows open. Due to the location in the middle of a student's town (in which I lived for 11 years), it will be loud at night Thursday to Saturday (during the academic semester). There *will* be a party close by and drunk people will pass the hotel every so often. Bring earplugs, if you mind this kind of thing. It's the price the Conti pays for its perfect location.

Vi use this hotel in last 5 years for two-nights stays on our way from Slovakia to Norway once a year - and this is really good choice. Hotel is just short walk from sea promenade, behind the hotel building is large green park with wild gooses. Rooms are allways perfectly clean, with comfort bed, kettle and refrigerator. Breakfast is just fantastic wide choice of local specialities, lot og fresh juices, good strong coffee, even prosecco ;)

Parking lot is very small, so it's often full and you have to search for parking place around.

The location is very central and most places we wanted to visit were within walking distance. The hotel has a small wellness, which we used once because it was rainy and we did not feel like walking in the city. Furthermore, there is a pool table, so it is also a nice way to spend the evening.

The personnel were very nice and helpful, however, it felt that there were too few people working in the restaurant. Employees were rushing around to make sure customers get their drinks.

The hotel itself was beautiful. Staff was exceptionally kind and helpful. Good communication and close to the city center. Breakfast was good and always available at the designated times.

Bed was a little harder than I liked but that more personal preference. AC would return to 20°C right after lowering it a little.

The room was fabulous, clean, modern and equipped with high quality furnishings. The breakfast in terms of presentation and quality could not have been bettered. As to the location, it was perfect! we could easily walk anywhere, Kiel which is friendly, safe and clean.

Our only gripe is that it would have been nice to have our complementary bottle of water replaced each day.

We chose this hotel due to the location and weren’t disappointed. It’s close to the center, but not in the midst of chaos. Our stay was nice, but nothing spectacular. The room was quiet, but was smaller than expected and seemed dark.

The room seemed dark and we missed having a desk to work at. The small round table had to suffice, but was not a great compromise.

The bed was amazingly comfortable and big. The design of the room is really pleasant, nautically themed. The room has everything you need: towels, robes, slippers, toiletries, a mini fridge with a bottle 0,5 l bottle of water, a safe, hairdryer, 0,5 capacity water boiler, coffee and tea bags, sugar, paper towels. The hotel is pretty good located, between the Zoological Museum and Altstadt. Most things that you would want to visit are in walking distance.

From the room pictures before booking, I had the impression I will have a city view. Could only see leaves. The rest was exactly as in the pictures. At the reception they should explain a bit more to the new guests. They hand you a paper with some info and done... The heating system/AC not discovered, therefore could not change the room temperature after my prefferences(a call at the reception might have answered my questions though).

Location was perfect 👍 And its a very dog friendly hotel.

Breakfast was not included. For my family that would be 100 euros ekstra. We drove an electric car. It was difficult to find a available spot since these parking spots next to the hotel were taking by non electric cars .

Arrived late in the evening, but check in was very smooth and quick. Comfortable, large room. Quiet environment so a good night's sleep. Excellent breakfast - both food and service very good. Check out was also efficient. Would recommend.

Nothing to complain about at all

The location is unbeatable—within walking distance of everything that one wants to see. Breakfast was very good with excellent service. They have high chairs available and are generally quite family friendly. The bathroom in the family room was large with a bathtub and bidet as well.

The parking prices are very high (21 per day) so we parked elsewhere. The bed topper makes a fair amount of noise. Otherwise, all fine!
