Hotel Gerberhaus

Breakfast was outstanding and the owner paid us a visit our first morning, she was delightful. Gave several tips for local fare and navigating the town. We loved Rothenburg. Also needed to print our Bavarian castles ticket and she was more than happy to assist. Gardens in the back of the hotel were well maintained. A nice hide out from the tourists on Main Street! Great beer too. Fresh fruit was also available daily for a quick snack.

We enjoyed our stay here immensely. We don’t have a negative thing to say. We found parking to be tight and expensive inside the city and certain times of the day were near impossible to navigate. So we used P1 as our resting spot for the car. Safe, secure and close to the hotel.

Great location within the old town walls of a very beautiful medieval town, quiet with beautiful dappled shaded garden, really great breakfast from the coffee shop offering of the business

No room facilities to make a hot drink from a business that ends its offering at 6pm. No air conditioning or fans which became an issue for sleeping with the extreme early season weather, not boding well for the main summer season.

Frau Hubl and her staff were great, always with a warm greeting. We were directed to some very nice out of the way places we would not have found on our own. The decor was in keeping with the historical city. We had a 4 poster bed in our room. The private garden with lots of comfortable seating was a real asset on hot days. Breakfast was diverse and generous.

It would have been nice to have a fan in the room for the one very hot day.

We liked the location, also staff was really friendly.

Some of the furniture was not stable enough, such as tables. In the rooms was missing lighting, it was too dark. Also it would be nice to have electric kettle in the room. As the days were hoing we notice that the quality of the breakfast was going down. It was getting more difficult to have a full breakfast.

In a quiet location away from noise if the Festival. Beautiful hotel garden to relax in after a busy day. Excellent breakfast but coffee was not very good.

Had to go back up the hill in the evening to find somewhere to eat. No one on duty in the evening, if you wanted a drink it was in a fridge and you signed for it.

Café and breakfast room had beautiful details (pictures antiques erc) which fit to the beautiful city Rothenburg. Breakfast was excellent. There were so many things and we felt that the hotel owner's passion of running this beautiful hotel. Parking1 outside of the city was just 1 min walking distance which costs €5.50/day.

The pillows were too soft, but it is a personal preference.

Staff is amazing. The owner of the hotel is a very friendly woman. She is always available for any request. We had a problem with the hot air, they fixed it on the spot. Location is great. Walking distance to the center. Cozy hotel.

I wish there was an elevator, but I know this can’t happen because of how old the hotel is, which is very nice.

We loved the location! Easy walking to everything you want to see in Rothenburg o.d. Tauber, including maybe a two minute walk to the iconic Plönlein. The hotel was adorable and clean, with a beautiful biergarten we wish we'd had time to spend in. I loved the live plants in the room and around the hotel, as well as the antique lamps and chandeliers. I'm sure there were many other cute antiques that we didn't have time to see. The breakfast was delicious, with a good variety. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, really easing the anxiety of traveling in a big, (foreign-to-me) city. We were able to pay to park in the hotel's garage, which was very convenient with 3 small kids. That was a big plus.

The only thing we could complain about is the mattress on the sofa bed being too soft- but the small kids slept on it and were fine.

Loved this little hotel! The owner was so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was amazing and the location is perfect in the middle of Rothenburg! Would highly recommend!!

We couldn't figure out how to get in initially, but that was resolved quickly.

The outdoor courtyard was wonderful and we appreciated the ability to sit there whenever we wanted with self serve drinks available at night. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and delicious, a real treat. the proximity to the city wall and square made it very easy to explore and walk the city. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
