Royal Kamuela Villas & Suites at Monkey Forest Ubud

We thoroughly enjoyed our generously proportioned one-bedroom villa with private pool and jacuzzi bath. We stayed in villa 8 which happened to form part of the monkey highway resulting in daily visits. Constantly entertaining, and fearless but not fearsome, they positively enhanced our experience. The restaurant staff accommodated our dietary needs without hesitation or question, when ordering room service or in person at the restaurant, and all the staff from housekeeping to spa were friendly, welcoming, and humblingly enjoyable to be around. They greeted us politely and respectfully, and could not have offered more to ensure we enjoyed our stay. The gym facilities are clean and adequately equipped for maintenance workouts - who does more than that on holiday, anyway?! The large main pool was a great addition, serviced each day and with foliage regularly removed and the boardwalks swept. Attention to detail matters here. Although situated just off one of the main roads in Ubud, barely any sound transmits into the resort. The couples massage was just perfect! We would happily return.

First of all the bed was super, super, comfortable. The room was great, very clean, nice size and set up with a balcony. The bathroom was huge, beautiful and luxurious. The property was clean, breakfast was included and was a la carte but with many choices. The staff at the restaurant were very polite and friendly.

The reception at the front who checked us in did not understand much English.

We loved everything about the property. Royal Kamuela is located a 5 minute walk from the Monkey Forest. We used to see monkeys in our villa and around the hotel which was fantastic! The people are the friendliest people and are willing to go out of their way for you. They are so personable and remembered our names. The chef and his team remembered what we had for breakfast too. The property exceeded our expectations and remembered all of the finer details. Our Villa was incredible and I can’t wait to be back there. It was Beautiful.

I don’t even know where to start. This hotel is absolutely gorgeous, pristinely clean, and staffed with incredible, friendly, professional charming people who cannot do enough for you. They strike the perfect balance of being accommodating and giving you space. We arrived late at night after the kitchen had closed but they had prepared a wee plate of food for us which was so sweet, and there was a bowl of fresh fruit in the room. The host showing us to our room was so lovely! Our room was fantastic - a huge and comfortable bed, good AC, a mini fridge, blackout curtains, lots of space and storage (including good surface area for all your stuff), universal plug sockets, a safe, lots of lamps/good lighting, a table and chairs, double sinks in the bathroom, a huge shower with two heads, an ironing board and iron, and the biggest bath I’ve ever seen! The balcony was spacious and looked out over the pool. Room service was always prompt, the laundry service was good, the daily room cleaning was immaculate, the spa service was lovely, and all members of staff were so polite and helpful when you needed anything, always welcoming you with a smile. The breakfast is an a la carte menu which was a really nice difference to the buffet-style breakfasts at most hotels, and every single breakfast we had was 10/10. Honestly unbelievable! There is a great variety of things to choose from, both sweet and savoury, traditional and Western, and best of all - proper coffee is provided, both Balinese coffee which we tried, and also espresso-style coffees from a barista machine. We cannot fault the breakfast at all, we’re still talking about how good it was! We also had dinner in the restaurant one night and it was beautiful as well - accompanied by some traditional Balinese dance (Topeng I believe) which was entertaining. The pool was lovely - immaculately clean and very well maintained, with a jacuzzi at the far end. The poolside snacks and drinks were great.

I don't like having hotel staff trying to get me to sanitise my hands. I don't need hotel staff to teach me about personal hygiene. Personally fed up of the whole nanny industry that has grown up around coronavirus - if you are scared of catching the virus, then stay at home.

The villa was stunning, our room was gorgeous. The pool was huge and so nice and refreshing after a hot day walking. The staff was so kind and attentive.

The monkeys in the yard did scare us a little, one monkey was going around the room seeing if he could get in.

I have had the privilege to travel and stay at various hotels in my lifetime, however the hospitality offered at Royal Kamuela couldn't be even compared to anywhere. The staff here is just amazing. They make sure your stay is comfortable and you are having the best time. We planned this experience for our Mother and indeed this was a "Royal Experience". The room was huge and had everything you can think of. The Jacuzzi felt like heaven after a long day of travelling. The Hotel Restaurant was amazing as well and not to mention the amazing breakfast. We had an early morning flight and the staff packed our breakfast for us to go. Thank you again for this lovely stay, I hope to come back soon 🙏

Nothing, everything was perfect!

The villa we stayed was absolutely adorable! Very comfortable, modern! The highlight were the monkeys every day that passed through our garden after 2pm :) The spa was amazing and they made us feel welcomed and super relaxed. All that we tried at the restaurant was delicious. Everyone in the hotel was smiling and nothing was ever too much for them. We thank you for making our honeymoon so unique!
