The hosts are extremely hospitable, welcoming, helpful, and friendly; the breakfast - cereal, fruit, yoghurt, juice, and cooked Irish - was excellent with copious coffee; the (ensuite) room was spacious and clean with a kettle and generous tea and coffee sachets and milk and sugar; good TV and wifi; the location is just on the edge of Castlebar (on the road to Ballina), just minutes from the centre on foot (the train station is on the edge of the other side of the town)...

I would advise printing a short info leaflet about places to go/eat etc in Castlebar as upon check in I couldn't possibly retain ALL the names and directions I was given orally! (I should have requested an external/open view room when I was booking as unfortunately I just had a wall outside the window - this is totally on me, of course...I usually book hotels and always request this, but just didn't think of this when I was booking the B&B!)...

Strong, very hot shower, love the grooved shower base that you can grip with your toes; Deep base so you can soak your tired feet whilst showering. Windows to open for fresh air to dry washed clothes; lots of space to put your stuff on; desk with drawer and a chair; long wooden seat with 3 storage boxes underneath& a shelf above and lots of hanging space; 2nd desk for stuff; a tray for kettle and mugs & a teaspoon; tea/coffee/sugar/milk was in a wooden box on the desk and there was 2nd chair. Large mirror in bedroom; removable coat hangers so you can dry your washing at the open window. My large room was at the back of house and was very quiet. Good sized ensuite with lots of lights; 2 side tables, each with a drawer and a shelf; bed lights were over the bed, freeing up the side table for your stuff. A suggestion would be to have a jug of cold water, and an electric fan to circulate the air. Loved meeting Riley the dog who seemed to take a liking to me and she sat with me next morning at breakfast.

Tiny TV, both chairs are vinyl like matterial so if you are hot, you stick to them. If I'm being picky - just a little clean of the glass on the desk.

Excellent place to stay. I cant recommend this place highly enough. Owners/staff all extremely friendly and helpful. Clean and tidy rooms and facilities. We were staying over in the area to play golf for a couple of days, and if we are ever in this general area again we will definitely not be staying anywhere else.

Absolutely nothing bad can be said about this place!! Honestly a great place to stay, great location and even nicer people. You will not be disappointed or let down if you choose to stay here. Outstanding value.

Loved everything about Carragh House. Des and Oonagh are so welcoming - it's like a home from home in a very relaxed atmosphere. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Free Parking. Breakfast was lovely and Oonagh always checked to see if we wanted more. And of course there is their gorgeous dog, Riley.. As dog lovers ourselves, we loved seeing her around the house. Location is ideal - short walk into the centre of town. We loved our stay here and will always stay here in future when were are back in Castlebar - thanks Des and Oonagh for a lovely stay

No complaints at all - everything was great

Host was great; very friendly and knowledgeable. Basic accommodations. Quiet and clean. Within walking distance to a number of restaurants. Good basic breakfast. Good free internet. Plenty of parking.

Bed was a little small for two people. Room was warm at night and unable to control heat (but better than being cold). Castlebar is a terrible town to drive around - keeps going in circles; maybe could provide basic instructions of how to get in and out and around the town.

Absolutely gorgeous little bed and breakfast with wonderful hosts, real old Irish style welcoming place. Nice room with everything I needed and absolutely sparkling clean. Very quiet and literally in town centre, closest pub was probably less than hundred meters away. Loads of parking space in front of the house. Gorgeous breakfast both buffet and cooked Irish breakfast also available both which were delicious. Did I already say the hosts were wonderful people, I was pretty much late for work both mornings cause I stayed talking to them too long 😂. Would absolutely stay again

Room was spotless with an en suite, It also had a kettle, cups, etc for making Tea/Coffee. Got a fine Full Irish Breakfast every morning that kept me going right up until Dinner time in the evening. The house was walking distance from the town, which was great, as I didn't need to book a taxi either night that I was staying there. I would highly recommend staying here at Carragh House, Des and his Family were fantastic hosts during my stay and it will number 1 on my list whenever I'm staying in Castlebar again.

Hosts Dez and Una were so welcoming and friendly with great local advice. Avid bicyclists and motorcycle fans they had great advice for the highlights of the region too. Hotel was well equipped and room was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choices. Parking was ample with extra security for motorcycles if needed. Close to town for easy walk to dinner.

Seemed a bit expensive for location, but dont they all these days ;) i dont regret staying at all.

Stayed for few nights, i have absolutely zero complaints about my stay. Carragh House was warm, it was a clean and comfy bedroom, pleasent staff and owners and the location was only minutes from town centre with a shop directly opposite. Some pubs and takeaways all within walking distance and I took in a movie at the cinema one night, its only about 10min walk. Would be happy to stay again or recommend to others.
