Westport Country Lodge Hotel

The receptionist on arrival was lovely, very helpful. Took the time to speak to us and was very knowledgeable about the local area. Our room was a superior mountain facing so i have to admit i spent alot of time looking at the views of Croagh Patrick. The views were breathtaking. Gorgeous room with great facilities, water and chocolates on arrival. Comfy bed with plenty of pillows if needed. Hotel a bit out of Westport itself so a car is definitely needed.

My only criticism is that breakfast was not consistent. Full Irish breakfast had soft fried eggs first day, almost hard boiled the following two days. Boiled onions in fry on the first morning and when i asked for no onions the following days, i was dismissed and told no onions in the fry but there clearly had been. Also varying amounts of eggs, sausage and bacon,1st day 2 of each which was more than enough, last day 3 bacon, 3 Sausage and 1 egg. The tables were way to big for two people unless sitting side by side. Ate in the bar one evening of our staff, food was good value but chips were so salty. Very small criticisms, All in all a fantastic hotel, would definitely stay again.

The Country Lodge is a gorgeous setting, very relaxed and romantic. Lovely friendly and helpful staff...beautiful freshly cooked breakfast, piping hot! Loved it!

We absolutely loved it, would have been great to stay another night or more.. but it was just too expensive. Unfortunately we had to get a B&B for out next night. A think if the lodge offered deals it would enhance longer stays and benefit everyone...just a suggestion. We definitely would love to stay there again.

Our second visit to this lovely hotel and they were just as welcoming. We were very happy to get the room we requested with beautiful views over the countryside and Croagh Patrick. The breakfast was tasty and made to request. The staff were so accommodating and helpful throughout our stay. We had dinner one evening of Irish stew which was delicious. It was so quiet and peaceful with beautiful sunrises in the morning and moonlit sky at night. We will definitely be returning again! Thank you to all the staff for making it so memorable.

I can't think of anything we didn't like.

The room was very spacious and clean. View from the window was beautiful. The ensuite too was very spacious, it had a bath and a very large shower. Loads of comfy soft towels which were badly needed after a tough days hiking.

Very little to not like but the room had no bottled water which would have made the room perfect. Breakfast was good but would have liked some muesli as an option. Evening meal was delicious but service was slow.

Breakfast included in room rate - great choice, thoroughly enjoyed the food. Room which had large double & single was still a great size, bed was extremely comfortable. Room was clean and well decorated. Everything we could have needed. Hairdryer was not working - brought to reception and a replacement was brough to us very quickly. Clean, spacious bathroom, plenty of towels and shower gel/shampoo. Tea/coffee making facilities in room also. We ate dinner on one evening, again, plenty of choice, well priced, absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back. Staff could not have been nicer.

Beautiful. quiet location with lovely views of nearby Croagh Patrick. Quietness and comfort was second to none and only a 5/10 minute drive to Westport town.. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. A very nice treat awaited us on our arrival, with a small gift of some locally made hand crafted chocolates to greet us, which of course was very much appreciated & a nice, welcoming touch.

Nothing wrong really except my partner spotted a cobweb in the room we stayed in,& there was no hand soap in the bathroom so we had to use the body shower gel but these were minor issues and everything else was perfect and we would definitely visit and stay here again.

We liked the size and location of this Hotel, very peaceful, tranquil and friendly. The bedroom was a good size, as was the bathroom with a Kingsize zip and link bed, which was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent freshly cooked and warm and most certainly set us up for the day. Hotel was a great base to explore Westport and the surrounding countryside and was lovely to come back to at night so peaceful we will most definitely return.

We both enjoyed breakfast,i had full irish,i was very happy with that.my wife had pancakes, but maybe one extra one ,as the two she got were small.but she enjoyed them very much.

. The bed was so comfy and the bathroom spacious,but when relaxing in the bath,there was a very loud constant sound.The only thing that puzzled me was,that there was an old car tyre in the beautiful pond in the front,which made it look neglected.

The breakfast was so good, a truly full Irish that was cooked perfectly and kept us going most of the day , the waitress was lovely she couldn’t do enough for us and was so friendly and had a chat with everyone which made all the difference, we had dinner in the bar which was excellent and really fresh and hot and also service was second to none , we were served all our drinks also to our table and the waitress was busy and she still had the time to look after us , the location was fantastic as we went to walk croagh Patrick and we could see it from hotel, have to say the rooms were great and I wanted to take home the bed it was so comfortable and everything was spotless,

Absolutely nothing

We were very impressed with the lovely friendly staff------every one of them. Food was very nice .Lodge very nice and location was perfect in every way.Dinner was 100% and room was spacious ,v clean and tastefully decorated.

I hate to complain so this is NOT a complaint but on the first morning of our stay we approached the buffet to select options from the menu however there were no glasses an d the orange juice was almost gone, no yoghurt no brown bread no fruit and only one crossant no danish pastry .The second morning was better .However we really enjoyed our mini irish it was perfect.one more small thing that is artificial flowers on the tabled. A green sprig from the hedgerow would have been nice and fresh.
