Cavan Crystal Hotel

from the moment we arrived at the hotel we where met at the main door by the GM Michael a lovely friendly man smartly dressed wearing a mask spoke to us for about 5 mins telling us where everything was and to make sure we do the Lotto as it was big money the next draw and said it’s always won in Cavan but you never here about it 😂 all the staff are a credit to this hotel all very friendly and helpful nothing is a problem. The bar was bright and very comfy and the barman Mark a Dub who moved to Cavan over 10 years ago pulled a great pint of Guinness top class. The food was excellent cooked fresh and a great selection as was the breakfast good coffee and lots to pick from. The room was huge and real comfortable great pillows and you could control the heating by a stat on the wall. plenty of hot water and towels we will be back very soon

The breakfast was excellent and the staff were so helpful: The night porter brought me a coffee when I was working at 6am in the atrium The pool attendant lent me goggles and a hat for the pool Another brought me a rubber duck for my daughter to play with The waitress brought biscuits for my daughter as an After dinner treat The manager on breakfast duty brought me oat milk for my daughter's breakfast as she has a milk allergy The housekeeping staff bagged up the swimming gear we forgot and reception rang to tell us We returned here because of the service last time and it fulfilled our expectations again! Well done, we'll be back :)

Staff could not be more attentive when they realised it was my wife and I's 40th Anniversary. We arrived early and we were looked after until we could check-in, reception did not need to do this but we really appreciated it! We were able to relax outside in the sun and have a wee tipple! The Hotel was lovely airy and spacious. Food delicious, gardens beautifully kept. Bed wonderfully comfortable. Room spotlessly clean. Cannot praise the staff enough, especially in the Aitrium Bar. That we couldn't stay longer!!

The property was so convenient for the purpose of our trip. A great base. It was spotless. The staff were welcoming, always smiling, totally helpful - the housekeeping staff, in particular, were exceptional. We just sensed such a warm, friendly atmosphere as soon as we checked in at Reception. The food was delicious - a great variety to choose from. We would definitely recommend it and we will definitely stay there again at some point in the future. I actually intend emailing the Hotel directly today to thank them - a great place to stay - perfect in every way.

I can’t think of one thing I didn’t like.

The facilities of the hotel were excellent! Staff were very kind and willing to help if needed. Breakfast was outstanding with plenty of choice both continental and cooked. Pool was also a good size and very clean throughout.

When we stayed it was a very warm day so even with the windows open it was still hot in the room. However the hotel did have a desktop fan in the room which was good as we didn’t need to ask for one. A larger fan would be needed due to the size of the room or even some sort of aircon unit. It never bothered us but for some I know it would.

From the moment we got the checking done we felt the good vibes, staff is helpfull and happy, room was spotless, wifi working everywhere, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzy were very clean, we didnt have dressing robes to go to the swimming are and we did request them to reception and in less than 2 minutes they were delivered to our room. Bar and restaurant were both very good, food was lovely and cocktails were fab, specially the Porn Star Martini made by Daragh, best ones ever. Room has a tv, kettle, iron, hair dryer, really nice shower and comfortable bed. The hotel is 5 mins driving to town, bus stop just at the door. Live music also in the bar on Saturday. Best part was breakfast, AMAZING, they have cooked and continental, plenty of options, everything we tried was delicious: Full irish, pancackes, scramble eggs, juice, muffins and pastries, Staff is a big plus in this hotel

Everything was perfect

The housekeeping was great very professional and clean. The beds were comfortable and the bar was a lovely place to come and have a drink at the end of a long day. We also arrived quite early and we were able to get into our room much earlier than check in time which we really appreciated.

The plates and cups at breakfast were not very clean. Had to ask for new cup two mornings in a row. The staff could have also been a bit more lively and attentive. The room was a bit too hot the window did not open fully

When we entered the hotel a wedding party were having photographs taken in the foyer, completely obscuring where the Reception Desk was! There were quite a few children running about the corridors. I didn't mind this too much as the weather was poor and it must have been a nightmare for parents trying to keep them amused but it went on until quite late at night.

En-suite bathroom had recent refresh. Had dinner one evening in bar - reasonable value for a hotel, good food. Breakfast most enjoyable both mornings. Nice laid-back feel to the place on our visit.

Bedroom (209) decor was a bit dated but still homely. Curtains cover one wall either side of window but did not close over the window to keep the light out in the early morning???? (There was a roller blind as well)

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The value for money for our short stay (one night for my 65th birthday) was amazing. The staff very helpful and the feeling about the place was really welcoming. Myself and my daughter booked dinner for the evening and it was perfect. I tend to be disappointed by hotel food,, not this time. The dining room was full of families and people taking the opportunity to have a night out (Bank holiday monday) and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I had tempura tiger prawns, the battered cod and the apple crumble. it was all delicious and the chef came out with a lovely plate of small sweets/chocolates as a treat for my celebration. I have just now signed up for a 3 month membership to use the pool and gym. Honestly, I have passed by this hotel many times and never gave it a thought. Not any more...... it is a very classy hotel and I will be back to stay and most certainly for lunch and/or dinner.
