Hotel Traghetto

Charming decor and location was perfect. The manager/owner was so kind to take us to the train himself, as there are no taxis around! He was so kind to try and get us anything we needed. Apologized for the elevator and informed us ahead of time that it was not working!

Elevator was not working. Shower was so small and rickety I couldn’t even fit, and my husband barely did! Lack of public transportation was surprising since there is a port and train station in town, but taxis only work early in day!

The staff are amazing! They were so friendly and helpful. we were a group of seven, with four little kids and our rooms were changed to the large rooms without even asking. We forgot our wallet in the draw after check out and the team contacted us and kept it safe! They also stored our luggage for a day when we were departing and showed us the local sites for us to visit on a map. The pizza restaurant next door is realllllllly good!

The AC in one of the rooms wasn’t the strongest and took about 4 hours to cool the room, but it was ok by the time we slept. The shower is tiny and the doors don’t seal well.

The two gentlemen on reception were very helpful. They stored our luggage while we went on an excursion. The lady that organises the breakfasts was also very accommodating, letting us take an early morning coffee upstairs before we went down to breakfast. Next door, there is a great pizza cafe which has a beautiful tiny balcony upstairs. It only has about 8 seats so get there early - especially popular with the locals at sunset. When you checkout and want a taxi to the cruise port (we didn't have time to wait for the local free bus) make sure you tell reception to order you a car, not a people-mover, as these cost more. All in all, this basic hotel is fantastic value for money.

We arrived before 1 p.m. and were given our requested room right away. Giuseppe gave us a map of Civitavecchia and was very helpful with suggestions about what to do and where to go in town. This is not a 5* hotel, but a very comfortable place to spend a night or two before getting on a cruise.

Great position to port and short walk to centre of town. Friendly, hospitable , Guiseppe. Helpful. Good breakfast. Good room, nothing fancy, but clean and with everything necessary.Would stay again.

Nothing. It was a little dated, but good value for money . Walkable to free bus to port, which is now very well organised. Lighting in room could have been a little brighter. However, bathroom lighting was good.

Excellent location to stay before cruising. The surrounding neighbourhood was a real highlight; the old area was beautiful and so interesting. The restaurants in this area were plentiful and the food delicious. The Hotel staff were very helpful with suggests to what to see and how to get there.

Stayed here before back in 2019 pre Covid. Guiseppe at front desk is a great guy, speaks very good English and is only too pleased to answer all sorts of questions. If I am cruising again from Civitavecchia again I will happily stay at this hotel again.

This is an older hotel and the room furniture is dated but that said, it is comfortable and quiet and the staff are very helpful.

The location is perfect for pre/post cruise. The staff are very friendly and helpful.The cruise bus stop in a one minute walk away. From the train station there are ample bus options and it costs €1.50. There are many restaurants within easy walking distance.

The breakfast was nice and simple. Great coffee made as wish/to order. Pastries, cold cuts, yogurt etc. The staff are very polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend staying here if you embarking on a cruise due to its proximity to the port, make sure you ask about the free shuttles service located around the corner.

No breakfast offered. Location was excellent as I was going on a cruise and the shuttle area was across the street. Also walking distance from restaurants, shopping and waterfront.

The elevator was located on another level. Had to take stairs to get to.
